    2014 Elk regs

In all fairness, those have been 365 day hunts since inception several years ago. Anyone following the OTC hunts are well aware of the dates. Sorry but you are wrong. The two hunts that started on Jan 1st are not open 365 days. They are only for 92 days. They close on. March 31st. If you had been following the OTC hunts you would know this.

    2014 Elk regs

I have been putting in for that tag for 15 years and I finally thought I had enough bonus points to get drawn for it and they remove the hunt! Sucks doesn't even begin to express my disappointment
  3. I am just wondering if the Commission amended or changed the Regulations for the new paper tags? I don't remember seeing it on the commissions agenda or in the new rule changes in the Elk & Antelope regulations. . Except as permitted under R12-4-217, immediately after an individual kills wildlife, the individual shall attach the tag to the wildlife carcass in the following manner: 1. Remove all of the detachable paper covering from the adhesive back of the tag; 2. Seal the exposed adhesive portions of the tag around the wildlife so the tag cannot be removed or reused and all printing on the face of the tag is vis- ible, and a. For antelope, deer, or elk: seal the tag around the antler or horn, or through the gambrel of a hind leg; b. For bear, bighorn sheep, buffalo, javelina, or mountain lion: seal the tag through the gambrel of a hind leg; and c. For pheasant, sandhill crane, or turkey: seal the tag around the neck or a leg.

Funny that the regs just came out today, but there are 2 OTC elk hunts that already started 3 days ago...

    What is this?

If this is on the Forest and has been there for more than 72 hours... it is considered abandoned...
  7. Does there really need to be two threads on you bitchin about the "system"? If you don't like it quit using the "system". There was plenty of time to get a tag and not miss a day. And same for you, if you don't like this thread, don't read it or post in it...

    ASU beats Texas Tech

It's gonna be a tough Pac 12 this year... Did you see that #10 Oregon beat Utah in OT with a slam dunk with .6 seconds left... When was the last time there was two teams at 13-0 in the Pac?

    ASU beats Texas Tech

    sonoita antelope ?

The proposal looks good. I remember seeing antelope as a teenager down in the San Rafael valley, but latley it is hard to find one. The predator control part of the proposal needs to be a success before they begin the transplants. Those coyotes down there are smart, they don't come to calls like in other units. There has been a lot of predator calling down there and now those yotes are educated.
  12. So what do you do if you don't have a zip tie and a plastic bag?

    sonoita antelope ?

I don't think the mountain lion population in that area is high enough for game and fish to do an introduction...

    Disappointment

We are still trying to forget that... Please don't bring it up again or I might cry... Lol Now on to Basketball, since football is now over for ASU fans...

    Disappointment

Since 2006, ASU has 1 win and 4 loses in Bowl games with their only win coming over Navy, while Arizona has 3 wins and 2 loses. And Texas Tech would fall into the JuCo class teams... They were ranked #58 way behind Arizona.

    Baiting Javelina

Better not forget about hunters A thru Z in units 23 and 22 654321, go back to patrolling your unit and catch some poachers. We ain't paying you to be on the chat forums...

But then "they" came out with "their" own report that contradicted what "they" said during the baiting ban debate(if you can call it a debate), and the report said there was NO evidence of CWD in AZ, and almost no chance of it ever taking hold here in AZ.

    Baiting Javelina

As per Brian Wakling, AZGFD Big Game Specialist, on this forum, you may still put bait out for Feral Hogs anywhere anytime in AZ. So yes you can put your trail cams on your bait piles as long as you are " hunting hogs", wink wink.

Hey the Scumdevil basketball team even has a 11-2 record... At least the people in Tempe have something to kind of be proud of...

    Baiting Javelina

Not sure where you got the "two weeks"??? This new law has created even more grey areas as far as enforcement goes. That is a very good question, as how long do you have to wait to hunt a area that was baited? Is it once the bait has been removed? Is there an actual time frame? Or is this up to the discretion of each individual officer? Here are some scenarios that fall in the grey area: 1.) You want to sit a tree stand on a water hole, but another hunter had put out a nutritional supplement that was "not intended for livestock use" the previous year. You can't see any of the supplement left, but the deer continue to lick and sniff the area where the supplement was placed. Can you hunt there? 2.). You show up to your tree stand on opening morning, and find that some one has dumped a pile of corn in front of your stand. Can you remove the corn, or is this area illegal to hunt now? And if you remove the corn, how long do you have to wait to hunt? 3.). You are scouting an area to hang a tree stand when you find several illegal piles of corn on the ground. The area has a ton of sign and your trail cameras show some big bucks. After reporting the illegal piles of corn to the local game warden, how far away from the illegal corn piles do you have to go to be legal to hunt the area? 100'? 100 yds? 1/4 mile? Or just out of sight? The new regulations are vary vague ...
