Used to hunt Mule deer there every year, but don't think I ran into more than a few whitetails in all those years. Monster Mule Deer in there...

WOW, is all I have to say. In the 4 years+ that I have been visiting this site, I had never been physically threatened or told to "F$@# OFF" by another CW member. But after reading my PM's today that all changed. Some people on here cant seem to take criticism, laugh at a little sarcasm, or learn to "agree to disagree". Out of respect for the CW site I am not going to post the vulgar threatening PM from "BellotaBucks" on here.

the fox came in from behind without making a sound. The wind was blowing in my face, so he had to have winded me. I was ready to shoot, but that would be pointless to shoot at 1 foot, unless I wanted a cup holder in the middle of my fox...

Went calling today and had a fox come in so quick that he was at my feet before I had time to react. He was literally 1 foot from the end of my shotgun barrel. Obviously I'm not going to shoot with a shot gun at one foot. What are some tricks you have learned to help diffuse this situation, and let the fox move on but not take off running at full speed. This has happened to me several times.

I knew a guy who several years ago had the fox pounce on him and bite and scratch up his face pretty good. Needless to say he had to get rabies shots... I was not as concerned as much about that as I was actually getting them to hang around long enough to get a clean shot at...
