The Huge bull that walks away!
AZHUNTER05 replied to Koury Guide Service's topic in Koury Guide Service
You should have kicked him in the junk and shot it for him! -
I don't know the guy but you have to at least give the guy his credibility until he has officially been investigated and proved he is guilty. I hate cheaters too! I hope he didn't cheat it but it wouldn't surprise me. Oh, one other question when is the last time you walked by someone else's boat and looked in the livewell while it was just running? I know i never have

I don't make them but my buddy makes them out of small electrical boxes. You can buy them at home depot.

Good luck i paid $800 for mine brand new in 2011.

Im helping my buddy out on his rifle hunt and i have never hunted 20b before. We have been out 2 days now and haven't seen anything. We have been out on bumblebee road and out behind lake pleasant so far. Any suggestions on roads to hunt or areas? Not looking for any secret hunting spot just trying to get my friend his first kill. Thx

That was pretty awesome! What kind of call was that it seems to work well?

Get up high and glass down into flats, washes, and crevices. They do like cactus so make sure you glass the cactus patches more then once. Because pigs sometimes look like rocks and then you look at the cactus again and see there actually pigs feeding. I literally get up on a mountain and glass from sun up until around 12 in the same spot. I might move around the mountain but if you stay in the same spot they will appear out of no where eventually. I personally think the best time to glass up pigs is between 9 to 11 in the morning. Good luck it takes a lot of patients to find pigs but once you do its so much fun!

On 01-02-12 i find myself and my two other hunting buddies glassing for pigs in our favorite spot! After a short while my friend Rob spots a group of 7 pigs not to far away. Jim and i make our way over to rob and we get set up to talk rob into the pigs with the radio's. Rob gets down the hill we were glassing from and we are able to talk him right into the pigs. He makes a nice 30 yard shot on a pig and puts him down! After he makes the shot i watch the pigs scramble in all directions! So i try to keep an eye on them and hurry down the hill to try and get a shot on a straggler. I get down the hill where rob is and all the pigs seemed to have disappeared . Rob pulls a javelina in distress call out of his pocket and let it play for a few minutes. Nothing comes into the call which is no surprise to me! (Every time he plays that call pigs turn tale and run for there lives!) I give up on the hope to get a second pig out of the group and walk over to rob's pig. As we are shooting the breeze and high fiving about the first kill of the year i look up and see two pigs walking our way! I radio jim who is still up on the hill glassing and let him know we are on pigs. He finds the pigs and keeps eye's on them for me. It turned into a 100 yard staring contest! The pigs were looking right at me and rob and would not budge. Finally after about 10 minutes or so they finally started to walk down a ridge right towards us. I knock an arrow and try to close some distance on them. The pigs got a little startled and walked away from me down a hill. I thought for sure i was busted so i walked to the hill and thought i would try to get eyes on them. As im walking slowly towards the hill i hear the greatest sound ever, woofing! My buddy jim radio's me and tells me to stop where im at because the pigs are walking right towards me. I range a cactus on the top of the hill at 20 yards. Not a minute later a small pig walks right out from behind the same cactus i just ranged and walks right at me. Following the small pig was a nice big boar heading the same direction and woofing like crazy. I hold still and try to get a shot on the bigger pig. Neither pig is giving me a shot and closing distance on me quick! Finally the small pig quarters a little away from me so i draw my bow and let one fly! The 2 blade Rage tore through the pig and double lunged him! He ran about 10 yards and fell over! I ranged the shot at ten yards after it was all over. About 2 hour into the first day of our hunt and we have 2 out of 3 tags filled! The third tag has yet to be filled but he still has plenty of time to get it done! Thanks for looking and good luck on your 2012 season!

Ya its papper tuned so it must be my arrows. Everyone i talk to says they gave up on the muzzy's because they are too hard to tune.
-
Oh and im shooting a mathews extreme with 70 pound limbs my arrows are flying at about 306 or 308 fps
-
I just had my bow tuned and that never seems to help. I do line my fletchings up with my blades and i use gold tip xt hunters. I gave up on the muzzy's because they fly every where i can't group them at all. I switched to rage broadheads which i love but now i have 18 brand new muzzy's i would like to use on pigs and coyotes. I've been told that helical fletchings will help but i need to buy a helical jig for my fletcher before i can try it.
-
I bought a dozen muzzy 100 grain broadheads and i can't get those things to fly straight to save my life. Any suggestions on getting them to fly true?

If you think its a bummer they killed a 60 pound lion then you must be a city boy. Lions kill a lot of cows hurting ranchers all through out arizona. So next time you guys think about letting a female go think about all the cows and deer they will kill in the next year. That could be your cattle there killing or your next monster mule deer you could have harvested the next season. Good job guys keep it up awesome video.

Use the baby cotton tail on the foxpro it works the best i have one and i call in lots of coyotes every year. I shoot 50 to 100 coyotes/fox a year with that call. just be patient they will come in.

Strangest thing that has ever came into your call???

I've called in a pack of lion dogs and have had several redtail hawks almost land on top of me!
