It's most likely because that specific DPMS you were looking at was not mil spec. There lower end models don't have them. +1 on the rock rivers also! I have a colt and a rock river and i prefer the rock river trigger to the colt trigger. My only complaint about the rock river is the weight of it with the heavier barrel.

They are basically all the same. The colt's are made out of a different metal then the DPMS, but you can interchange parts and they will still work. Buy what you like or what is in your price range.

I thought the same thing and this came up in the regs. book. Under R 12-4-303 Unlawful devices methods ammunition 4. Semiautomatic centerfire rifles with a magazine capacity of more than five cartridges, unless the magazine is modified with a filler or stop that cannot be removed without disassembling the magazine; 5. Contrivances designed to silence, muffle, or minimize the report of a firearm; James why is this still listed in the amended book on line?????????????? James Because it's government operations and they most likely haven't updated it yet. If you are so positive that there is a limit, why don't you just call game and fish so they can tell you there is no limit? I'm not positive never said I was! I just stated it was and the amended book and questioned why they wouldn't fix it when they amended it for small game! That's why I questioned it! There is and amended reg. book on line and it is still in there! A simple " they haven't updated the book for this" would have been ok not a pissing match! James Haha wow calm down man. I didn't mean to start a pissing match. All i'm saying is that you should call g&f and hear it straight from the horses mouth. That's what i did because i didn't want to get in trouble for carrying a high capacity magazine in my rifle. -

It really doesn't matter whether you can have 5 rounds or 30 it only takes one round in most hunting situation. -

I'm looking to purchase a new kawasaki teryx 4 eps, in the next couple of months. I was curious if anyone else has purchased one this year, and wouldn't mind telling me what they paid for it. I have been looking all over the internet and have found people saying they paid any where from $13,100 to $15000 (out of state). I'm going to pay cash so i'm looking for a OTD price. Also if you could let me know where you bought your's that would be awesome! Thanks Cameron.

Travel management - what are YOU going to do?
AZHUNTER05 replied to mtn-memories's topic in The Campfire
Just to clear some things up about camping off restricted roads. I called the coconino forest office in flagstaff and asked them to clarify the rules to me so i wouldn't get cited. The lady in the office stated you can camp off any road as far away from the road as you want too. You just can't drive your vehicle more then 30 feet off the road. I asked her if that applied to toy haulers or tent trailers as well? She told me that you can park a tent trailer or toy hauler as far off the road as you want as long as it doesn't have a motor! The catch 22 is you can't pull the trailer more then 30 feet off the road with a vehicle. So basically if you unhook your tent trailer and move it further then 30 feet away from the road you will be ok as long as you don't use a motor vehicle. -

I have never had a problem with rage broadheads flying bad. You may want to try a stiffer arrow and if that doesn't work you might need a bow tuning.

My mother in-law who lives in Minnesota asked me if i could find her a skull. So i decided to boil my 2012 javelina skull and mail it to her. She took these pictures of the skull and i thought they were pretty cool so i decided to share. I thought it turned out pretty good for my first one. Let me know what you think.

I shot my bull at 51 yards, with a 2 blade rage. I got a complete pass through and the bull died less then 70 yards from where i shot it. I watched the bull go down and die in less then 10 seconds. Not saying fixed blades are bad just sharing my experience with you.

My buddy has one for sale. I'll send you a PM with his info.

This is the entry hole on my elk this year with a 2 blade rage.

I just killed my bull up there on sunday, and they were bugling like crazy! The weekend campers really killed things though. I was up there 2 days before the hunt and they were screaming in the morning and at night. Once the weekend came they did quiet down a bit. Send me a pm with where you are hunting and i'll see if i can help. I would normally agree with elkaholic about sitting water, but there is way to much water up there to be sitting on tanks.

Loop hole in dead animal removal for elk in coconino forest???
AZHUNTER05 posted a topic in Elk Hunting
Well i was at my buddies house today talking about my up coming elk hunt in 5bn. I advised him because of the new law this year i can not use a motor vehicle to retrieve my downed elk. He then told me that i can use a motor vehicle to remove my downed elk but no other animal but elk! I disagreed with him because i have done my research, but he was positive i could. He then pulled out his reg's and showed me where it stated you COULD remove elk but no other animal! Tell me what you guys think about this. It's on page 43, second paragraph on the top of the page. I'm still skeptical about it, but i may just keep a copy of the reg's in my truck and show it to the FS if i have a problem. -
Loop hole in dead animal removal for elk in coconino forest???
AZHUNTER05 replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in Elk Hunting
Even on your link it says you can remove an elk with in 1 mile of a open forest rd. This is directly from the fish and game website. As i said before it's on page 43 in the reg's. http://www.azgfd.gov/regs/mainregs.pdf Motorized Big Game Retrieval on National Forest Lands All national forests are undergoing or have recently completed travel management planning, which will result in changes to motor vehicle access on national forest lands. National forests that have made a decision implementing the Travel Management Rule (http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/programs/ohv/final.pdf) only allow motorized use on designated roads, trails and areas as identified on a Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM). These maps are available for free at Forest Service offices. In designating roads and trails, the new travel management rules include restrictions on driving off-road for game retrieval. The Coronado National Forest and Prescott National Forest have made a decision implementing the new travel management rules and have released MVUM maps; motorized big game retrieval off the designated system is not allowed on either Forest. The Kaibab National Forest (Williams and Tusayan Ranger Districts) and the Coconino National Forest have also recently established new travel management rules and published MVUMs. Both Forests do not allow for driving off-road for retrieval of deer or other species besides elk. Other national forests including the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, Tonto National Forest, and the North Kaibab Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest are engaged in travel management planning and have not yet issued decisions. Many of these forests may issue travel management decisions prior to the 2013 hunting season. If you have a permit to hunt in a Game Management Unit that includes one or more national forests, please contact the appropriate national forests(s) for updated information relative to motor vehicle use and motorized big game retrieval. -
Ya you need to go pick up a coconino forest map of all the roads you can use in the unit. I got mine in flagsaff. I have the early archery bull tag and have been making lots of trips up to put up my camera's. The roads are a muddy mess!

Felony speeding? I have never heard of that. To be honest they received more punishment then i thought they would. They should have gotten a much worse punishment then they did. -
