My Neighbor is FS and he is being forced to work without pay! He was told that there was no vacation allowed, even if you had it scheduled before the shut down.

Archery or rifle for Javelina ?

That is absolutely not true. Per the "Javelina Bag Limit" section on page 1 of the spring hunt regulations: The statewide bag limit for javelina is now two (2) javelina per calendar year with no more than one (1) javelina taken per open area as defined in each hunt number. The bag limit may be filled in any combination of permit-tags (draw tag or first-come left over draw tag as long as differing hunt numbers) or nonpermit-tags (overthe- counter tag) No more than one (1) permit-tag shall be issued per hunter through the initial draw. Refer to Commission Order 6: Spring Javelina on page 15. That's what I was told by a game and fish employee at the phoenix game and fish building.[/quot]w I stand corrected! I called g&f to verify and they told me I could not apply for both! Be careful on who you ask questions and verify they are correct. Thanks for telling me I was wrong in time to correct the error.

Archery or rifle for Javelina ?

Put in for both! I talked to the lady at g&f she said you can apply for 2 hunts as long as they are different hunt numbers.

    What Release Do You Shoot?

I shoot the same one, it's a great release and not too expensive.

What do you consider a big bull

Lol, probably the same bull we had run through our camp several times mid day!

What do you consider a big bull

Did you end up tagging out?
  15. I was shooting a 386 grain arrow at just over 300 fps, 70lbs limbs, 29 1/2 inch draw.

    5bn elk, pictures added!

I can't post pics from my phone or I would. Yesterday afternoon we headed out to some natural blinds we built on some well used trails. Once we got settled in the wind wouldn't cooperate, so we decided to go spot n stalk instead. As we were walking my buddy decides to sit and watch a clearing we had seen elk in a few days earlier, as I took off to do some walking. 15 minutes later i look up the hill I was standing on and see a bull standing broadside at 50 yards. I'm down wind from the bull, so I had to make a quick decision to shoot or let him walk. As I ranged him I saw what I believed to be a nice 6 point, so I decided to shoot. I drew back and let a 100 grain schwaker fly! The bull takes off up the hill and out of sight. I wasn't sure if I hit him or not, so I headed up quickly and located my arrow. The arrow was completely covered in blood! I txted my buddy and as he headed my way, he located my bull! Unfortunately when I got to my bull I found that he was actually a 4 point! No matter how big or small, we put a lot of hard work into getting a bull down and I'm extremely happy with it! We'll here are some pictures of my bull! Sorry it took so long to post pictures! Unfortunately we were only able to fill one out of thre tags, it was a very tough year.

    5bn elk, pictures added!

We've heard bugles almost everyday, but they are very few and far between. We have called several bulls in, but they hang up around100 yards. This is the hardest archery bull hunt I have been on! Hopefully the rut kicks off soon!

    Got one down 734 am

Awesome congrats! How big and what unit?
  23. My buddy was talking to a "BLM guy" who advised him that forest service was talking about shutting down all roads in 5bn due to mud. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I personally don't think it will happen, but he seems pretty worried about it. Last year it was beyond muddy up there, and they didn't shut down the roads. I'm just curious to see if anyone has experienced this in the past?
  24. I have a few nice bulls on camera and i'm curious what you guys think they will score? I know they aren't monsters but they are shooters for me. What do you guys think the last bull will score? This is the biggest bull I have seen so far this summer.
