Seems like every hunt I go on there is a bright full moon, and ya it will be hot but oh well. Would much rather be on a hill behind the binos than at work. Leaving at 2 today. Everyone be safe and good luck! -
Congrats on your buck! I love the hat go ducks!!!!

Are NAP Bloodrunner heads any good?
Willyhunts2 replied to Viper's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I have been shooting them for a while. Only thing I have shot with them besides targets is a turkey and it did the trick. As far a shooting them at my target they have always completely opened for me and the back side is the same when I have one pass through that far. If you push down on the point with your finger it dosnt take much for the blades to expand. So going through an animal or target I'm guessing it stay fully opened untill it reaches the other side when there is no more pressure on it. -
8:30 am today. Silver or tan silverado with a few other stickers on back window.

Didn't they have that state wide survey? My understanding was most people who stopped hunting was because they were fed up with never drawing a tag. Most people wanted the opportunity to go hunt every now and then. So they have those hunts and still have trophy hunts for those guys. If you want a trophy hunt you still have the opportunity to do that. If you want to hunt elk every year, you can do that also. To me it looks like they are trying to cater to everyone while still trying to fund their department.

There are not very many tags for rut hunts because of high success rate. Don't know the numbers but I doubt there are to many successfully archery hunters or it would go to a draw like some units have or be closed. Number of bucks is not the issue it's number of does and fawns. A buck breeds many does so it's all about fawn survival rate and the number of does in the population. If you don't have a good number of does then you don't have a good number of fawns. If fawns survival rate isn't good then less deer all around. I know people will disagree and not trying to argue but my 2 cents

Sorry to hear that. It has become a zoo around there the last 5 years. I won't even put cams or anything I'm going to leave out up anymore if there is any sort of road leading to the area. The area gets a ton of hunters and even more people out just screwing around. They are paving control road so I'm guessing there will be even more traffic through the whole area around there, if that's the general area you are talking about. Thieves are the scum of the earth and again sorry to hear about it.

Speechless. That is awesome!

Good job Making sure of the species before pulling the trigger. Better safe then sorry. Sounds like a fun hunt and got to see a lot of different animals.

Seen them on cams a lot over there and lots of sign while quail hunting. Is deff weird seeing elk in that type of country.

Nice buck! Are those sheds found on your hunt?
