We can speak for Q5 and our manufacturer does not produce anyone else's products. We are working hard to reach a goal to eventually have the inventory to fulfill orders throughout the busy upland bird season. However, quality and function will always remain the primary focus as well as being made in the USA, so that means that, at times, there will be backorder situations. That being said, we currently have options available - something we are working to make ever more possible, i.e. style and color. The Q5 Centerfire Tan, the Q5 Rimfire, the Quilomene L/XL Upland Orange/Tan, the Quilomene San Carlos Y-back Tan and Orange/Tan are all in stock. In general, it will not take 3 or 4 months for the vests that are out of stock to be again available for order - generally, it is less than 6 - 7 weeks. My first thoughts are that we are all different and we all hunt for different reasons and enjoy the outdoors for different reasons. Some of the most enjoyable days I can remember as a 7-year-old back in 1957 is sneaking around the desert with a single shot .410 and the thrill of bringing in a quail or two that I had shot on the ground to show my dad. At 7 years old I hadn't learned to hit them in the air yet - those are great memories. Age has changed my perspective so that anymore it's not the number of birds to bring home, though the thrill is still there to just be on the desert hunting desert quail. It's fine to "pardon" some and let them go their way. So whether you shoot them only in the air or on the ground as well, it goes beyond the kill, to just appreciating the bird and the habitat it calls home.

A few words to what lucky2hunt has written and they are, "yes, there is always more we can do." Some of you may be interested to hear about the outdoor camps that AOA has provided for nearly 20 years now. We don't have the opportunity to visit the internet very often and therefore do not respond frequently, but we do appreciate the opportunity to do so when we can. Most of us remember what it was like to be a child and the pleasure the outdoors brought to us as we discovered all of what it offers. At Arizona Outdoor Adventures (AOA), that is what we are sharing with children that do not have the resources or opportunities to discover the great outdoors, so that as they grow into adulthood, they will know the many benefits of the outdoor life. Also on the website you'll find a very versatile bird hunting vest manufactured right here in the state of Arizona. Reports that I've been hearing and with my own time in the field, it seems to be another year of spotty hunting. A few areas I've found have up to 75% juvenile birds which does indicate a pretty good hatch, but in other areas juveniles are about 30%.

For 17 years Arizona Outdoor Adventures has provided back-country tent camps for underprivileged kids. With the uncertainty of current Forest Dept policies, back-country access is dwindling, and it is getting increasingly difficult to locate a suitable back-country area with no traffic. We are thinking that our best opportunity for the camps would be to buy/lease/use a piece of back-country private land. As the years go by, more and more newspapers are doing away with outdoor sections, especially related to hunting and fishing. I realize the internet has, for many people, taken the place of a newspaper, although for some of us, the newspaper is still a valuable source of information, whether you're reading it on-line or holding it in your hand. I've done a search, and the only ones that I have been able to find that provide any type of outdoors news are The White Mountain Independent (which, by the way, is a good source for some of the shenanigans going on with the National Forest), Kingman Daily Miner, Yuma Sun, and Payson Roundup. These four newspapers are the only ones that seem to have any interest at all in providing outdoor information. Some of you may know of the loss suffered by Arizona Outdoor Adventures during the Wallow Fire last year. We lost alot of equipment, including several custom wall tents. We would like to find a quality custom wall tent maker that we could work closely with to custom make several tents. Wondering if anyone had any referrals or high recommendations for a local company. I occasionally read in various forums about individuals asking about any in-season quail hunting reports. Many of you may not know about a website that covers the entire state – it is Az Quail Today. There are reports from hunters in the field all the way from the northwest to the southeast part of the state. It is a good overall view of the status of bird hunting in Arizona. Plus, in the future, we plan to provide direct links to most all of the forums that have anything to do with bird hunting. It will be a one-stop website to get whatever information you’re looking for regarding upland bird hunting. Check it out – it is continuing to grow with significant plans in the future to provide more and more resources for bird hunters.
