My buddy put one of these on his new bow...he loves it. I’m looking forward to checking it out on his elk hunt next weekend.

Who's getting excited for dove season?

Totally ignorant when it comes to eurasians...are they easy to tell apart from mourning doves when flying? -
Bump for great deal.

There’s an old saying I’ve always heard about work travel...never come home early without calling. This gives all new meaning to that. LoL

Awesome...

Another thread gone down a terrible tangent. OP regrets this thread now. 😂

I won one of the Full Draw raffles for Crispi boots...now I have to figure out which ones I want. I've always sort of looked at the Guide and Hunter models, but now I'm considering more seriously. Any recommendations on specific models and what you like about them? Also, I see Bull Basin, Ross, and Archery HQ are retailers in AZ...any idea which ones have the best selection in stock for trying on? Bull Basin is local to me, but I could make it to Phoenix to try before I buy.

Passed on the only elk I’ve had in bow range on the first morning of my first elk hunt. Had seen a much bigger bull the evening before, but also wasn’t confident in the steep downhill shot in timber. I told myself I wanted something bigger at the time, but every time I think about it I’m glad I didn’t force that shot. Not a regret, but a definite “what if?”... edited to add...I’d take that shot today, both from the confidence standpoint and he was definitely a bull I’d be proud to shoot.

Awesome buck...congrats!

Lots of good info added here...I always forget about coming in from Winslow.

Hopefully you don’t get beat up too much for this being your first post, but welcome and good luck. You’re coming from one of my favorite parts of the country (especially starting this Saturday...makes me get the Big Orange fever) so I’m happy to help out as much as I can. I’ll PM some more specifics. Rossislider is spot on with the lodging...couple of other small places and cabins in Forest Lakes area, but availability may be tough. Heber-Overgaard is about 20 miles away and has a few places too. Depends on weather, but probably a little too warm to hang meat overnight for more than one night. Agree with the coolers recommendation or Miller’s always seems to have a cooler truck there. Plenty of camping (both dispersed camping on National Forest and a few established campgrounds depending on preference) and don’t worry about the snakes. Depending on when you’re on I-40 I might just race you out here. Flying to Nashville in a couple weeks to drive a U-Haul back to AZ for family moving here.

Do you have to explain a Yes answer?

How is your FOC? Mine improved with 125gr (no weighted insert though) and my longer range groups improved. Penetration should be improved too.

Never thought i would turn this tag back in

Right on...nice job! -
Someone trying to protect that trophy unit...

That’s correct. I think the extreme is maybe more common...if I have 8 points (which I think I do for lope) and put in with Lance who has 22, then I suddenly have 15 pts to my credit. Maybe I should PM Lance.

Only if it’s Unit 10. I don’t want any 80” bucks.

Awesome stuff...thanks for all the updates and pics. Can’t wait for the next round. Take care of business and get your head clear before you get back in the game and good luck! -
Wow...nice buck! Congrats!

Yeah this is a really good point...that’s probably hardest for me figuring out where bedded buck is after hiking over closer to move in on a stalk.
-
Awesome...thanks for sharing and huge congrats to you both!

Nice of you to help take care of the cattle like that...

Like to grill a lot...less clean up that way. Steaks, brats, burgers...one of my buddies usually brings something premade from home, either chili or some sort of pasta to just heat up.
