Turkey Ammo, Saw, Powder, Scope Rings, and Call: Updated List
bigorange replied to IA Born's topic in Classified Ads
Is that a gobble shaker or an owl call? Looks like my owl call I used this weekend... -
I don’t know about their toy haulers but I’m on my 2nd Forest River trailer and I’ll never buy another one. I’ve heard good stuff about Genesis and Grand Design toy haulers.
-
Good stuff right there. Sounds like an awesome weekend and congrats on a great Tom!
-
That’s good news. Thanks!

All my fault I guess.

I’ve had both as well...overall towing and family use I prefer fifth wheel, but you do lose use of most of your bed. I actually think hooking up the 5th wheel is a lot easier than BP. For me at least I also have a short bed and have no issues with hitting the cab...a slider hitch helps, but even without using a slider I’ve only ever bumped the cab once in a near Jack-knife on very uneven ground. I was dumb and forgot to engage the slider that time. My hitch is heavy and takes 2 people to remove from the bed. I’d give the Anderson Ultimate as pictured above a good look if you decide on a 5th wheel. I know a couple of folks with those hitches and they love them. Very easy to take in and out and tow great my biggest complaint with 5th wheels is the newer 4wd trucks seem to be getting higher. Even with a bit of a lift on the trailer mine doesn’t ride level on my 2011 Ram. I’ve read that the newer truck models are an inch or two higher than mine, so it would be even worse.

Better than us. We saw 3 toms and 2 hens off the road. Had a few gobbling on Sat-Sun but not responsive and on the move. Adding 3 kids to the mix does make things a little more difficult. LoL
-
Good luck...those are a hot item right now. Might edit the subject to include what you’re wanting to buy...

Bump to try to get this thread back on track.

Good info here...I’ll be looking at the Prana next time I order more pants. Which Zion? On their site I see Stretch Pant, Stretch Pant Straight, and Chino. None of those sound very good for brush-busting. Any comparison to 5.11 pants? I’ve seen good reviews on those pants too... funny Prana has always struck me as a company that would have an anti-hunting slant...wonder if they know their stuff is popular with hunters. LoL

Tall fences make good neighbors.
-
Not sure which is worse...rattlers climbing in boats or cottonmouths dropping out of trees into the boat when I was a kid. I might take a rattler over a cottonmouth...
-
Anyone been scouting in 27? Heading up to help my buddy with a couple youth tags.
-
Yep...early scouting is best to just locate water sources and learn the lay of the land, access roads, etc. the bulls won’t be in the same areas during your hunt. I don’t know if 6b is open for archery deer, but that can be a good dual-purpose scouting trip too just a couple weeks before your hunt.

Neighbors said there have been issues on our street with lots of mail in the wrong boxes...great timing. LoL
-
Only if you’re sniffing packages.
-
Nice! Bump for a great organization.
-
Perfect timing...gonna be a lot of boat accidents in April. Just a hunch.
-
I figured it was a ram package when I first saw the pic...I’m still waiting for that to become part of the sheep scoring system.
-
Yeah...reported as soon as I saw the post.
-
Good stuff. I have a pair of the non-military crocodiles at least 20 yrs old and still work great.

Is he a guide? That may be one that I was remembering... -
Nice! An old 30-30 is on my short list for this very purpose...

Travel Trailer/Toy Hauler Rental? (Southeast Valley)

Try rvshare.com I’ve heard good reports from that site and have known a couple of hunters that rented their rigs on there. Sorry I can’t remember who it was...one of the guides in Tucson was renting his trailer too but that might not work for you due to location/distance. -
I found a Vortex Diamondback Tactical HP for my daughter’s predator for just under $300...we’ve been pleased with it so far.
