Not going to pile on criticism since you already owned your mistake. I do want to echo others that you did the right thing and you should be proud of that. Also consider yourself lucky…a friend had a similar issue a couple seasons ago and did the right thing but was not so lucky. He got his charges dismissed but spent a lot in legal fees to accomplish it.

Looks a lot like my dad’s that I learned on. When I was a kid we called it his “worm rod” since he usually fished plastic worms with it. Left-handed so it was like cranking a spinning reel…still doesn’t feel right when I use a right-handed casting setup. LoL

See the other thread trphyhntr started. If you buy the lifetime license you would apply as a non-resident, but get counted in the resident pool for draw odds and %. You still pay NR tag fees but have resident draw odds. Just something to consider.

You’d have to get written permission from the 3 neighbors too…in case those houses “might” be occupied.

+1 on this…it will keep you in the resident pool if you decide to put in for tags too. And be sure to come back and visit CWT periodically too…show off some Iowa whitetails!

Heading to Pinetop for a weekend with friends and looking for a safe area to do some shooting. Nothing long range, just simple plinking with .22 and similar. I know anywhere on the Forest is technically legal depending on fire restrictions, but looking for specific areas that are safe and hopefully not crowded if willing to share.
