I’ve been wondering the same. Especially the southern units.

Of course we’ve all heard of this. The same guys doing that just won’t use the e-tag the same way they don’t use the paper otc tag.

This was my point exactly. The e-tag won’t stop this behavior…

I’m not sure I see the benefit…in some other states with more than 1 deer limit you can check in online and keep hunting. I suppose there could be a lot of cost savings on printing and mailing tags but also possible lost revenue from all those ads on the tags.

Found mine…haven’t made my soup just yet. The printed OTC tags from AZGFD have an issue date and a “valid through 12/31” date. The Wally World handwritten carbon copy tags just have the issue date and they’re marked with the year for the tag.

Too bad it’s not clearly spelled out in the regs. LoL

No theory at all…it’s not closed until sundown on Wednesday. That’s in the regs too…and maybe on GoHunt.

Okay that makes more sense. I wasn’t reading that much engine work into the description. There’s a reason I only do minimal work on my own vehicles. 😂

Not going to pile on criticism since you already owned your mistake. I do want to echo others that you did the right thing and you should be proud of that. Also consider yourself lucky…a friend had a similar issue a couple seasons ago and did the right thing but was not so lucky. He got his charges dismissed but spent a lot in legal fees to accomplish it.

Looks a lot like my dad’s that I learned on. When I was a kid we called it his “worm rod” since he usually fished plastic worms with it. Left-handed so it was like cranking a spinning reel…still doesn’t feel right when I use a right-handed casting setup. LoL

Is there a pool on which unit closes first? Nothing in the southern 30s units yet…or not being reported/updated.

Interesting. Now I have something else to “watch” LoL i wonder what the update process is on this and if it’s done regionally or just periodically as they’ve come in. I notice none of the 30s or 40s have anything reported yet…and only a few others at this point. Maybe it was just a test to update those.

See the other thread trphyhntr started. If you buy the lifetime license you would apply as a non-resident, but get counted in the resident pool for draw odds and %. You still pay NR tag fees but have resident draw odds. Just something to consider.
