I've always really liked gadgets, especially hunting gadgets. When I first heard about the ArmourDillo, I was shooting with my friend Nathan and he saw me setting my bow on top of my foot instead of the ground...he told me I needed an ArmourDillo and showed me one. I immediately thought "Now why didn't I think of that?" This is a cool new gadget being produced by Hedog Archery, a Tucson company started by Nathan and Paul Lawson. If you live in Tucson or hunted archery elk in Unit 27 in September, you've probably seen Nathan's recognizable camo 4runner with Hedog logos on it. The concept is simple and effective. It's almost like a foot that goes on the bottom of your bow to protect your bottom cam from rocks, sand, mud, whatever you don't want to set it in. One of my hunting buddies calls it my kickstand for my bow. It's already gone from cool gadget to necessity for me. I've only had mine for a couple of weeks, but has already come in handy on a couple of stalks. I was able to set my bow down with minimal movement and lean it against my leg while quickly glassing with both hands..even with an arrow nocked. I always wonder about new gadgets on my bow adding weight, noise, vibration, etc. The weight of the ArmourDillos is minimal, no vibration, and it actually seems to help with vibration dampening. Check out www.hedogarchery.com to see this new idea. I've talked to Nathan about becoming a CWT sponsor, so maybe you'll see them on here soon too. I'll edit and post pics of my ArmourDillo soon...hopefully laying across a buck!

Had a great January...saw more bucks than I've seen in previous years, but just couldn't get it done either. Here's to August...good luck in the draws!

Red jeep wrangler...definitely not a Cherokee or a Ranger.

Glassed up a red jeep with CWT.com sticker in 36A today while I was looking for muleys...just thought I'd say hi. Hope you had better luck than I did.

Cool new gadget by a local company

Added a photo...hopefully will have a better one after trying to finish the season right. No effect on performance that I can tell. Doesn't touch the cam, string, or anything else and no effect on balance. -

Out chasing mulies in the southern AZ desert yesterday...saw a couple does together and 3 bucks. Each buck was by itself. One was raking a couple of trees but didn't appear to be rutting.
-
Awesome deer. Congrats on the hard work and sticking it out to get it done.

A friend at work has hunted one of these hunts south of Winslow (at least that's where I think it was) He said it was hard hunting. There was snow so he was able to find pretty fresh tracks but never saw any elk. Similar situation, the ranchers in the area told him areas where they were seeing elk and definitely wanted them removed but he still didn't find them.

Awesome...congrats! I was in 36A yesterday too. Not quite as good luck for me though.

Awesome! Congrats! I'm impressed that you could keep eyes on it long enough for your dad to get back with the rifle...that's tough! -
I've used the Viper 15x50 for a couple years...love them. Carried them on harness for a long time and have just recently added a set of 10x42 to my optics arsenal so the 15x50 ride in my pack and see most use on the tripod. Honestly haven't tried the Viper HD, but I hear the difference is significant. If I ever upgrade from them it will be to Kaibab or some higher dollar glass. For the money you can't beat the Vipers.
