Lots of things to be thankful for and easy to forget with everything going on lately. Please take a moment and post what you're thankful for. I'm thankful for my wonderful family, having a stable job, and that my dad and uncle took the time years ago to teach me about hunting. Thankful for all those who serve and have served to allow us to live in a country with such great freedoms. I'm even thankful for eating tag soup for Thanksgiving, but only because without the opportunity to fill tags there would be no tag soup! Happy Thanksgiving! Bradley

BB guns have come a long way since I got my first one years ago...my son is 7 and will probably be getting his first one for Christmas this year. Ay recommendations out there on a good first BB gun. Not sure who'll be more excited between the two of us...

Nice little buck and definitely better than tag soup...I'm getting to be quite the tag soup expert these days.

Alright I grew up hunting in the southeast, so my first 2 bucks were 6-pointers. It took me a little while to get used to talk of 3-pointers or 3x3 but I'm used to it now. Can someone please explain the apparently common debate of counting or not counting eyeguards? I've noticed it even pointed out in several threads like this one... http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/36266-long-3pt-coues/ I get that it's common to not count the eyeguards, but why? Maybe even dumber question but by same logic why do you count the fronts on an elk if you're not gong to count the eyeguards on a deer? Please pardon my ignorance and educate me on this western vocabulary, lest I go back to calling them 6-pointers and 8-pointers.

Awfully quiet on here for opening day of a hunt...hopefully everyone is packing out and hasn't had a chance to post pics yet! Any luck? Looking cloudy, rainy, and windy in the southern units...heading to 36B on Monday to help my buddy if he hasn't tagged out by then.
