Beautiful buck and great story and pictures. Congrats!

I like the 36ABC archery tag. 34b isnt bad either...

Maybe a fluke but hopefully a sign of good things ahead if not this year...probably beat ASU, no on PAC-12, no on big name bowl this year.

Football season starts this week, archery deer already open, dove season opens this weekend, and elk rut starting up. Man, this is my FAVORITE time of the year! Dec-Jan archery deer and bowl season a close second of course!

+100! Already the Least productive work week I can remember in a long time...
-
Let me just say it again...camping in the mountains this weekend with the family listening to the elk bugle, came home to find out that my UT Vols and UofA Wildcats had both busted into the Top 25. On top of that, 5 days until I'll be back in the mountains chasing elk with bow in hand! The MOST wonderful time of the year...

Awesome buck! CONGRATS! Can't wait for the story... -
You're not supposed to be looking for deer on the job!
-
That's a pretty awesome way to practice and get ready for your hunt!

It's not much, but found my first desert shed this weekend. Actually only my second shed ever...I just don't seem to find them often. Probably a combination of not being out as much at the right time of the year and also I tend to be looking for animals more than looking down for sheds. I had thought about keeping an eye out for sheds on this stalk as well as looking down more often for rattlers since it was August in the desert. Anyway...my buddy jumped a couple of mulie bucks and we were tracking them out through the flats when I came across this shed. It was laying next to some backpacks and trash from illegals so I can't help but wonder if one of them had picked it up and dropped it there. It was right next to a fence, so may have just been coincidence. Still brown on the side that was to the ground and white and cracked on the upper side. No rodent damage although the brow tine and main beam are broken...I'm guessing that could have been before it was dropped though. Who knows. I don't know how long sheds last in the desert...do you think this is a few months old from earlier this year or from last year? coolest thing to me is how much I hunted this area last year I may have seen or even stalked this same deer. Who knows it could have even been one of the 2 bucks we were tracking when I found it. Now that I've found one, I may try to get out in the same area next spring and see if I can find more. I think I'm hooked.

Distant bugles all night long at Fool Hollow Lake. Wish the kids could have heard it but they were already asleep. Less than a week to go!

My 1st Coues Buck With Stick & String!
bigorange replied to Gut Pile's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Congrats and great story! Also congrats on donating your rifle tag... -
I can see how it might read that wy. The paper renewal offer I received is clear that it is 1yr of the journal plus shipping for the knife. And specifies both renewal and new subscription. I think this I a typcal Eastmans offer but in the past I've always seem various Primos calls as the freebie. And yes it's $25 for the subscription plus $10 shipping for the knife. Still cheaper than retail for the knife and get the magazine to boot.

Awesome buck! CONGRATS!

Not sure, but I am white and I have had to show identification every time I have been pulled over by a cop, pulled over by G$F, every time I have gone in to vote..........I don't undertand the problem. Maybe I should start throwing a fit every time somebody asks me for some ID.....puzzling.......... I always claim I was profiled when that happens...fat, white redneck driving a pickup. Usually gets BP to leave me alone. Not so great with G&F or police.

Nah...your acne's not that bad and you don't like Bud Light...right?

Left wants God OUT

I saw a screenshot of the teleprompter...it already had the 2/3 majority reported. On the assumption that it would pass...oops! -
+1 cut them off and then chase them if you have to. Be ready to chase them 3 miles like averagejoe if necessary. And above all have fun!
-
This was in 36a. Plenty of trash there unfortunately.

Sounds fun. Looking forward to the pics...

Sharing the Wealth
bigorange replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I just shared the wealth and celebrated the DNC by renewing my NRA membership! And a BIG +1 to ready2hunt...I too believe it's my Christian duty to share and help those less fortunate (and to pay taxes) but I also believe the sharing and helping others should be on my own terms through my local church or whatever organization who is truly determining the level of need and appropriately rendering aid. Just my 2 cents...keep the change. -
Looking for info on processors in the Alpine/Springerville area. I searched the forum and only found this entertaining thread, but not sure if any of the processors with phone numbers are in this area or further east...probably closer to Show Low or Heber based on the subject. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/34604-use-of-a-freezer-in-sept-show-lowheber-area/ Google search shows Rusty's and Singletree in Springerville. Anyone used either of these processors and have any recommendations? Thanks and good luck to all with tags this year...hoping for a good rut hunt this year and a couple of cows on the ground in our camp!

I don't see them either...I was looking for the oval stickers and couldn't find them the other day. I emailed Amanda and she got me taken care of...she said some things just haven't made it into the new store page yet. amanda@coueswhitetail.com
