Agreed...class act. Good luck.

There will be plenty of leftover javelina tags posted in a couple weeks...first come first serve. You should be able to take care of 2 off your list this coming Spring if things line up just right...
-
Working...I'll be out this afternoon. Already got a "buck down" text from another member...it's time!

2 for 2...pig and turkey.
-
Not those blue chip trophy pig units! Yeah I'm not sure why I even put in...I guess it adds a little suspense and excitement to things. Easier to apply online than the leftover process though. Gives me a good indicator when they start hitting cards too, since I can't tell just by lookin on CWT.

Pig here...still waiting on my buddy to check our turkey.

Got a hit for pig...waiting on my buddy to check his card for our turkey tags.

There are units that consistently have a lot of leftover tags...and even OTC tags for metro unit archery hunts. In general not a difficult tag to draw in most units. Fun hunting though...especially with a bow!

Who's ready for Friday Oct. 25th?
bigorange replied to flatline's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
27 hours give or take until I head for camp...got that nervous/anxious/excited feeling that never goes away the day before a hunting trip. If it ever does, I don't know what I'll do. Scond guessing my plan A due to crowds after talking to another member here, but also have plans B-D to fall back. Just don't want to move camp around. Once we find an open camp we'll be good. Talking myself into being nervous again! -
+1 on the book and the welcome. I've lost track how many times I've read that book!
-
Awesome...especially with a bow!
-
Not yet...but thanks for the reminder. Hadn't checked my bank in a few hours.

That does stink...never would have thought of that. Someone told me a while back that being color blind was actually an advantage when glassing, and made it easier to pick deer out. Is that the case in your experience? Hard to say I guess since you can't really compare yourself in both situations and eliminate other variables. I suppose it could have been one of those "lucky/good glassers" who just happened to be color blind and would have been good at picking them out anyway.

Awesome! Surely there's a story to go with those pics!

Heading out Friday afternoon...work always seems to get in the way. Looking forward to it... -
Dang what a trip...but yeah I can imagine it's totally worth it and priceless! Congrats on a great buck!

Wow...looks a lot like my old Browning Coyote that I still have in the garage but afraid to even draw since it's been so long. I used to have a similar rest...and yes that's all there is to it is the spring and the end is supposed to flex to allow the fletchings to pass. Like Scooter said, if you have the center shot clearance go for the biscuit. A friend had an older bow like this and saw a lot of improvement just switching to carbon arrows, but that's getting into a lot more $$ that you may not want to spend. He killed a stink pig with his...literally lobbing arrows. Decided after that to upgrade to a low-end newer bow for deer. Sounds very similar to your plan. Otherwise you could go "old school speed" and chop those arrows off and put an overdraw on it! I see you're in Tucson...take it in to Robinsons (he has a few older bows setup in the shop there, so may have some really good insight on what you can do on the cheap) or Bull Basin and they should be able to take care of you.
