Awesome...thanks for your dedication and efforts. I'm sure this young man did have the experience and hunt of a lifetime.

Awesome...especially having your dad along. Congrats!

I honesty think that anymore the differences between the companies are negligible. Shoot them both and see which one feels best to you. I don't know anything about the Bear, but I know 2 guys who have the Brute and are both happy. I don't think I'd split hairs, just try them out and maybe more in the same price range and see what feels best and shoots best for you.

Nice finds! Hope you found the quail too.

Awesome! Congrats...well on the way to that goal! -
That's pretty cool and a good recycling method for shredded paper. Sort of reminds me of the paper log roller my grandfather had...he used them in the furnace to get the coal going.

Congrats! Awesome...can't wait for my son to be old enough to draw a tag.

I have these...great price for some nice glass. I'm guessing non-HD if 5 yrs old and that price.

I've always heard good stuff about them, but never really listened to them. Enjoy the show!

Great explanation...sounds great! -
Nice buck Cole. Any video footage coming?

She was my white whale last year...saw her scouting, a couple of buddies saw her during archery deer, and then seemed like every hunter I talked to had seen her during early archery. I saw her once during the hunt but was so far away and steep and thick I couldn't get close. I hope she's still there.

Awesome! Congrats...that's some pretty good luck!

Agree....this is way too organized! I'm not sure I could tell you where both of my cameras and all the various pieces are right now. I do at least know where the memory cards are this time! BTW...shouldn't those cameras be out somewhere working for you and not sitting in that box?? Just sayin...

When I was in college one of my clinical rotations was in the local trauma center. There was a guy there with head injury and paralysis from a treestand fall. I had never worn a safety harness before that, and really opened my eyes.

Congrats! Looking to break my own curse soon...

Awesome! BIG CONGRATS to both of you...

Video editing - want to learn
bigorange replied to Coach's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
i hate when people play something like van halen over the sounds of nature if you all know what i mean I like a blend of music during scenery shots and natural sounds in action shots...I've seen video before with music over the bugling bulls which almost defeats the purpose to me. I think there's an important balance. Coach mentioned the Utah video and the youth hunt. I think those are both by Pursuit365 and posted by Andygrand. Very good stuff. There was also a video about family hunting a while back that I really enjoyed. Rick, Eric, and Cole at AZ Extreme have some great video style and I've always liked Jay Scott's video too. Maybe some of those folks can weigh in here with some simple tips and tricks or how they got started. -
Elkhunter1 gets it done again...first buck for another hunter!

Got the great text this morning...BBD from elkhunter1 who had taken one of my buddies out with him. Just got back from helping pack out... I'll let Steve post the story and pics but just wanted to post big kudos on here. Steve has helped me on more than one hunt already and helped make my buddy's first deer a great one! Maybe in Dec he can help me get my first archery kill. Ok...one pic so I don't get harassed too much. -
Looking for safe and preferably legal shooting areas near SE Tucson to take the kids...I know about the county range near the fairgrounds, but would prefer to take the kids out on our own the first couple of times. Basically just .22 plinking and maybe some .223 or handgun as well. National Forest and BLM land is legal...but not very close. I know lots of areas on state trust land, but my understanding is target shooting is technically illegal on state trust and I've heard this is being enforced more commonly now. I appreciate any ideas or suggestions...thanks!

None of that stuff is ever nice camo gear though... -
Bummer...hope you can locate the gear.

Sounds great...good luck and looking forward to the story and pics!

My understanding is if it's rez then it's up to the tribe. Some have open season for tribal members and others are more restricted. Often depends on if they're trying to manage wildlife or make money on trophy hunts...

Anyone else eating tag soup??
bigorange replied to ready2hunt's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Yep...opening weekend saw lots of does and a spike in a new area to me. Just got home from helping my buddy pack out his first deer, so at least the group didn't get skunked. 1 out of 4 tags in our group this year. Not great. Unfortunately I'm getting used to the taste of tag soup...I still don't like it but it's familiar.
