    Item found in Unit 27

Right there with you TJ...I had forgotten about this thread with the hope that it might be found. Awesome to see this!

Pay it forward - I will start

Nice tent...my first "real" tent was a Timberline. Spent many nights in that tent and carried it on lots of backpacking trips.

    Current routine

Man you guys make me feel fat and lazy! Insanity is a good name for that workout...I couldn't even handle the baseline test when I tried it.

    Youth deer camps this year?

My buddy's kid will be hunting deer for the first time this fall, and he'd like to put him in for a tag when/where there will be a youth camp. I found the SCI camp info in this section of the forum...any other deer camps usually happen? Is the SCI camp going to be the early Nov hunt in the 36s again this year? Thanks!

    First Archery Memory

No pic, but my first archery memory is watching my arrow sail right over the back of an eastern whitetail...my first shot at any animal with a bow. Forgot all about my anchor point and peep even though I had practiced a lot (buck fever anyone?) and just used the pin and let it fly.

Man that is awesome! Congrats to all of you.

    Mady's Bull

As far as the outfitters I learned a lot about these guys. Completely changed my attitude! Outstanding guys! The governors tag was after this bull in Sept of last year. Az Ground Pounders also were after bull during the archery hunt. Both came VERY close to killing him. Fortunately for Mady he disappeared and everyone lost tract of him. They both were very excited for Mady! They were excited to put their hands on this bull that they both worked so hard to tag. Thank you Jay, Luke, Gino(A3), Waylon, Cash and Steel(Az Ground Pounders). Both gave her video, pictures and sheds. This is great to see...couple of class acts right there.

    Trip to Alaska

Awesome pics...one of my hunting buddies is moving to Sitka soon. I see a trip in my near future!

    Political Discussions request

Thanks for posting. I don't think I ever noticed the "politics related to hunting" and I bet others may not have noticed either. I see enough general politics in the news and elsewhere so it will be nice to not see it here either.
  11. Same scenario here...bought a trailer here on CWT that was mid to top end of the F-150 capability and quickly realized it wasn't fun to tow, especially to the mountains. Now running a 3/4 ton diesel. Better for towing, but nowhere near as capable offroad as the F-150 was.

    French squirrel kicker

Yeah that was pretty stupid. Wish it had latched onto his leg and gone looking for nuts.
  13. Reminds me of my '01 plus a few nice extras I didn't have...great hunting rig!

    What's your FOC?

This thread motivated me to finally calculate my FOC...shooting 28.5" Axis N 340s. With 100gr FOC is 10.5 and with 125gr it's 13. No wonder I'm getting better flight with the 125s. I should have done this a couple years ago! As for going heavier vs spine...I was borderline between 340 and 400 on the Easton chart, so in hindsight was probably a little overspined for the 100gr heads. Right on the mark for 125gr. Now to weigh, chrono, and calculate KE. One of these days...

    Boys of Fall Video

Great job! I counted 6 of my pics in there.

    What's your FOC?

Haven't measured and calculated my FOC but I need to. I recently switched from 100 to 125gr heads and noticed a significant improvement especially at longer range.

Hunter Ed camp this weekend - anyone going?

Had a great weekend despite the rain and mud. (Yeah...I really need new tires on my truck!) Met a few CWT folks too. Just wanted to throw out a big THANKS to the Y.O.U. folks and if you have kids aging up for Hunters Ed next year, I'd highly recommend this camp. My son said it was his best camping trip yet, and now he wants a shotgun and an AR. :D
  18. Taking my son to the Youth Outdoors Unlimited hunter ed camp this weekend near Happy Jack. Anyone else going to be there? I'll probably be the only one there with a TN hat on, so pretty easy to spot.

    12a otc lion tag

AZbowhntr is spot on...focus on your deer hunt. If you happen to see a lion, you've got a tag so it's fair game too. I've never seen a lion in the wild, but I always have a tag in my pocket.

    12a West October junior hunt

+1 What muley224 said...I buy a lion tag every year along with my OTC archery deer tag. Have yet to see one, but I'll have a tag when I do!

Texted you...I was just thinking about upgrading my pseudo-offroad tires that came on my truck. Right tire/right size.

    Would you rather

The more I think about it, the more I'm on the fence. I drew a "big mulie" tag, but the right coues in August would make me really consider donating that tag. It would be my first of 3... First coues, first with a bow, first in velvet...pretty tough to pass up. Hope I have to make that decision in a couple weeks! Interesting discussion though. Thanks for starting the thread.
