SOLO Wyoming Antelope hunt "long story, picture heavy"
bigorange replied to Big Browns's topic in Antelope Hunting
Man what a story! Glad you got it done Adam. Congrats! -
one more bump before I shift these over to Craigslist...good truck tires if you don't need offroad tires.
-
Set of 4 Kelly Safari ATR 265/70/17 with maybe 20k miles. Plenty of tread left and overall good shape. One tire has a chunk of tread missing, see pic for detail. In Tucson, but may be in Phoenix twice over the next 2 weeks. $250 or might work a trade for .22 pistol if you have one. One tire with minor tread chunking.

Good luck...you're in good hands with that crew. I'll be up there DIY.

Nice read...enjoyed the Desert Mulies post too. One of my buddies hunted the Eagletails last year and I think he saw as many bucks as you.

No joke on the prices of new camo for kids...I've resorted to having my parents keep an eye on the local Wal-Mart in TN and pick up stuff for my kids when it goes on sale. Much cheaper even when not on sale. My daughter is wearing my son's hand-me-down camo right now so none to offer yet...

Yeah that would be nice if the system could at least remember the license number...especially if the license was purchased online in the first place. Manages to remember my address and everything else from last time... I guess next year folks with Oct deer hunts will be complaining when their license they bought this Fall is expired before their hunt. It is a bit confusing, but I'm going to try to stay on the Jan-Dec cycle myself and hopefully not forget to buy a new one.

Very good price...still have mine as a backup and for my son to use.

Unit 33.. coming soon. Need help with getting there at night.
bigorange replied to varnco's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
+1 on GPS (have done lots of zigzagging in the dark and almost missed my spot) and never thought about the flashlight vs headlamp. I've always gone with headlamp out of convenience but being able to keep it pointed down is good. I'm used to hunting where the deer are used to illegals and smugglers moving at night anyway. -
Katadyn Base Camp
bigorange replied to Western Hunter's topic in Western Hunter and Elk Hunter Magazine
Nice write-up and great job getting out with the kids! I've always used the small pump filters and didn't know about the Base Camp. Very cool...sounds like it worked very well. -
We've all been new to AZ hunting and to specific areas at some point...no sense busting someone's balls for asking questions. Lots of good advice here (sorry I know the southern units so not much help) and bottom line is getting out there...sounds like you plan on doing that and now have some good starting points. Good luck and let's see some pics of your successful hunts soon!

Oh yeah the first 2 were shoulder shots and last 2 were behind the shoulder. Might be why the 3rd got up and ran.
-
3 out of 4 eastern whitetails I shot dropped on the spot or within maybe 25 yards. The 4th dropped and then jumped up and ran after a couple minutes (should have put another round in hindsight) That's with a 20ga slug at about 50yds, 270 at 100-125yds (one of those jumped and ran), and 30-06 at about 75yds (learned my lesson with the other one and gave that one an extra round and lost some meat).

Excellent...thanks for sharing.

Well done! Congrats!

They came on the truck when I bought it and I wanted a more aggressive offroad tire.

Mine did great at the range today. Hopefully will have something to report here come 10/25...based on what I'm reading I'll be aiming for bone shooting the 130gr TTSX out of my .270 -
Awesome...congrats!
