Keeps popping up in online ads...anyone used one of these? Seems like a cool idea when I win the Powerball. http://www.bullseyecamera.com/

Similar to others...10s around my neck and 15s + tripod in the pack. I have a spotter, but have never carried it in the pack. Even for the range I prefer my 15s over the spotter, but I'm not shooting really long range either.

Your tag, your hunt...or in this case your brother's tag, his hunt. Great job helping him out and congrats on getting the job done on what sounds like a very tough hunt!

i had a 19a tag and seemed to see bigger bucks across the road in 19b. I didn't pay any access fees, but I heard about some bigger bucks coming off Perkins the year I had my tag. A friend hunted Perkins several years ago and was happy with the experience.

10/22 I bought in the past couple years and an heirloom single-shot .22 that's been in the family several generations. First big-game rifle was a Remington 700 camo synthetic (basically a BDL in mossy oak bottomland with painted barrel to match) .270 that I still use. Bought it from a local hardware store in TN almost 25 yrs ago. Only big-game rifle I've needed so far.

I have a short bed Ram and my weight-distributing hitch extends out just far enough for the tailgate to open. With a regular hitch it won't open all the way. Don't know what having the tailgate open will do to your turning ability if the jack might hit the tailgate. Just a thought.

Vortex Diamondbacks 10x42 review
bigorange replied to arizonaelkhunter's topic in Optics and tripods
Can't beat them if that's your budget. I upgraded mine to vipers, but still keep the Diamondbacks in my truck all the time and use them pretty regularly and keep them as a backup. -
Does Working Out Help You Hunt Better?
bigorange replied to firstcoueswas110's topic in The Campfire
Good thread...like everything else, I think being in shape is another tool in your bag when it comes to the hunt. It helps and contributes to hunting success, but isn't a replacement for every other tool like scouting, time in the field, experience, knowing the game, knowing your gear, patience, luck, etc. Every hill I climb I always wish I wasn't carrying 20-30 extra pounds of ME up the hill...especially when those elk are already at the top of the next ridge and I'm sucking wind... I think a lot of the Zac and Cam haters think that they're trying to say you HAVE to workout like them to be a good hunter, which isn't the case at all. I follow both of them for a bit of motivation and because I find it interesting to see what they do getting ready for the mountains. -
Does Working Out Help You Hunt Better?

If Justin doesn't work out, I'm not going to either...maybe NOT working out will help me kill half the deer he does. -
+1 on this...hope they're having a blast and +100 on trying to help them out just in case.

Bump for great price on great glass. Love mine.

Awesome wide buck...nothing wrong with a little luck and good timing. Congrats!

SOLD - I don't mind holding onto it. I'll PM you and looking forward to seeing just how ugly you are.

Found a full Ruger SR9 magazine on my whitetail hunt...tried to find the owner on a few forums, but nobody claimed it. Free to a good home and I'll even leave all the FMJ rounds in it for you. Not worth taking a pic to post...looks to be in great shape with normal wear from use. No rust or debris. I'm in Tucson, so prefer someone in the area but I'll be in Phoenix several weekends in Jan and Feb so could probably make something happen.

Nice find...I collect old medicine bottles and would love to find one out in the field. Closest I've found is some oil bottles along abandoned railroad tracks.

It's on down south, but not sure now with the weather...this buck was with about 10 does pushing them around and lip-curling. Followed the one doe that was checking me out and that cost him...

Bump for a nice guy...buy with confidence. Got my Kaibabs from him and he's a straight shooter.

What we call them (3x3, 4x4, 8-pt, whatever) has been beaten to death, so I'm not resurrecting that topic...but wondering how folks report brow tines on the AZGFD hunt survey. I'd assume even though it's usually called a 3x3 out west (I've even gotten used to that...I guess I've become westernized), you'd report as 4 points per side if has brow tines. Muley I killed yesterday I'd call a 3x4 but has a decent brow tine on the 4 side...so I'm thinking I report it as 3x5. Also not resurrecting the topic of whether to honestly report or not...I've always honestly reported and will continue to do so hoping to contribute to better statistics in the hunt reports. This just hasn't come up for me in the past with brow tines...

Not trying to change anything...just asked what I thought was a straightforward question.
-
Yep...I was thinking if it's scoreable, then report it to AZGFD...but sounds like AZGFD doesn't count it at their checking station. Guess I've got a while to think about it before the 2016 OTC deer survey comes out...

Update with Pics/Story: First archery deer and my biggest buck yet!
bigorange replied to bigorange's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Updated with a couple more pics and story -
This makes the most sense, and not sure why I didn't think about that except my Kaibab buck didn't have eye guards so didn't occur to me. Unless of course it depends on the opinion/habit of whoever is working the check station that day...

On the muley thread but I need to add story and more pics...sorry this compooter won't copy/paste for some reason so can't add the link. here's a pic.

Help get me hunting. Need advice. Tucson area.
bigorange replied to Ethicsovereverything's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
PSE outdoor range may not be as windy since it's in between buildings...not sure. Tough spot...that range at the fairgrounds is windy even on a calm day. A warehouse or somewhere else indoors would be ideal...even with a sight tape I wouldn't personally want to hunt without actually shooting those distances and knowing that sights are on and I'm capable of the shot. My bow is a lot more accurate than I am. -
If you were scoring one would you also not count them? I didn't think about that until after I posted, but I guess the reporting logic should be the same as the scoring logic...but I know things aren't always logical.
