Dove & Quail Gun Anyone? CW Shotgun Special - Semi-Auto Winchester 140 12ga 28" Barrel in Excellent Condition
bigorange replied to Healy Arms's topic in The Campfire
I will say I'll take the 870 reliability over the 140. Have to keep the gas tube clean between dove shoots or it has cycling issues. -

LOL - The guys who could afford those guns in the 80's (at that time I was a broke high school kid with a hand-me-down 870 pump - that I still have) have reached an age where they're selling them back because they don't use them any longer. Nice old guns with that hot 80's styling. Parachute pants - Aqua Net - Loverboy's "Get Lucky" album and, yes, Winchester 140's And Gemco! My cousin lived behind the Gemco at Baseline & McClintock - we used to shop there and Smitty's all the time. We'd buy stink bait at Gemco or Smitty's and ride our bikes to Kiwanis Park to go fishing. Now the kids chase Pokeman characters on their phones. I'd take fishing over that any day. Never...I still remember the Christmas when I got my 140. My dad must have found a heck of a deal on it for me to get a semi-auto and not a pump like my brother. Hopefully my son will enjoy shooting it too when he finishes chasing Pokemon on my phone. -
My buddy loaned me a Primos stool...tripod stool with a back on it but no arms. I didn't sit from dawn to dusk, but was in it for 4 hours a day for about a week with no issues with comfort or noise. I've also tried camp chairs before and had issues drawing due to the arms and also noisy when shifting to shoot.

Starbucks coffee sucks anyway...but yeah I'm sure I'll drink it anyway when it's the only option.

Definitely not out hunting...same place as me.

Barrel cleaning how often and accuracy
bigorange replied to Paladin529's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Never heard that advice, but sometimes the way I feel about it. Never clean it before a hunt unless I know I'll have time to shoot it again. Fouled barrel much more accurate for me too. -

Have same gun in 20ga from when I was a kid. Shot a limit with it the other day. -
Nice looking stuff...I should replace some of this Ikea crap sometime with some real wood furniture.

If I could throw some food and water at a dog and leave it home alone for a weekend I might be impressed...and I've never seen one trained to do their business anywhere but "outside"...even hitting a newspaper is questionable. That said...I've come closer to killing my cat than any dog. Especially if it decides to clamp onto my leg in the dark again...

I've seen that road and wondered how the heck someone could drive it.

I would have hit a lot more the first 2 times out if I'd figured it out sooner! -

This...plus I found when I started paying attention that I was more pointing by instinct and not aiming...once I started paying more attention to a little form and aiming more I hit much better. Every year it seems to take me a while to figure this out even though it is simple. -

In case anyone needs the link to the law change from 2011...Tucson PD told a friend today no hunting in city limits which is incorrect. http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/50leg/1r/bills/sb1334p.pdf -
i was just talking about this with my dad today lol. people say every year theyre better but how can they be lol. i cant tell the difference but i guess some people canTalked to a friend in the industry about this...I asked him what the real improvements in newer bows and difference between brands...not much except marketing to egos with fastest, heaviest draw, and lightest weight. Nothing really significant as far as technology improvements though.

That's me. Fully expect a 5:1 ratio on shots to birds. I've only limited once back when it was 10 birds. In true form I took a girl I met off the internet with me 😳. She shot 2 boxes up and missed all of them. I shot 1 box, got 3 😂 How is naturegirl doing? 😝 -

Unless you work outside the summers aren't miserable anyway. Check out Tucson...my wife and I are both from smaller towns and we like it here. Has most city amenities (only thing we really don't have that I'd like are professional sports and major name concerts coming through...but we drive to Phoenix the few times we want that) Jut my opinion but Tucson has a much better feel than Phoenix and definitely doesn't have the traffic. Generally 5-10 degrees cooler with a nice breeze most of the time too.

Nice price. Love mine.
