Savage 110 30-06 with Muzzle Break Nikon Scope Kids Model 400$
bigorange replied to Adicted's topic in Classified Ads
Right on. Hope this goes to a kid who can get some great use out of it. -
Man I totally missed that original post...nice!

I've packed out a deer on one section of it and also used it hiking out in the dark...has always intrigued me since I grew up backpacking sections of the Appalachian Trail and still dream of thru-hiking it. Friend of mine mountain biked the whole thing last year. Very cool idea to have a CWT network of support along the way. I'd be happy to help out or join you for a section on the southern end...

My neighbors whose setups I'll probably copy if/when I do mine both used copper and both very happy.

That's the gap Sling filled for me...can flip through a bunch of espn, pac12, and sec channels...always something to watch.

Pulled the plug several years ago...sports (especially college football and basketball) was the biggest gap for me and went through a few less than legal methods to get access until we found Sling. ESPN, SEC, and PAC12 on there gets me everything I need. Plus a few other channels we enjoy. I think there's a few kids channels on there too. Plus Netflix, Hulu, and HD antenna. Runs about $45 a month plus internet.

That will be sweet when you get it done...good luck!

No shame in sitting water for antelope especially if you have them patterned. I understand it not being your style...I don't really like sitting in a blind either and have only tried it once for deer. I went spot n stalk mornings and afternoons and sat water about 10-1 every day based on patterns. Several blown stalks and missed shots. Had lots of action on water too and ended up missing the bigger buck that was coming in and then killed mine on water. Had a blast with the spot n stalk though.

Nothing wrong with that. Great memories for you. I killed a forky in 12aw a couple years ago and had a great hunt and great memories. My first mule deer and first AZ big game animal...very pleased. Can't wait to get back up there.

Agree 100% but might see if he can get a good leftover tag first...then you can both hunt. My daughter' first tag this year...when I told her I drew one too her first reaction was "if you're helping me on my hunt then I get to help you on yours" Good stuff...

Aside from my own first deer (nothing terribly memorable about the shot itself other than being a 20ga slug) I'd have to say my first coues experience which was my buddy's first deer. After watching a bedded buck for what seemed like an hour (probably more like 30 minutes) with my 2 buddies in their rifles ready to shoot, the buck gets up...one buddy misses then can't find the buck in the scope again. I'm yelling at them to shoot again and finally my other buddy shoots and drops the buck in his tracks. I had no idea who had shot until after it was all over. A memorable pack out in the dark too...not sure I'll ever pack one out without quartering it ever again. I missed his shots, but I also got to help the same buddy that missed pack out a couple nice coues in later seasons...and he returned the favor on one of my mulie bucks. Good times in the field. Thanks for this thread triggering the memories.

Insane lucky timing...apparently my cc info got swiped (I assume based on the location of fraudulent charges and when we were there on the way to vacation) last Sun but no fraudulent charges showed up until yesterday...after my card had gotten hit by AZGFD on Friday. Hopefully not missing the "second chance" on sheep today though...

Cabelas guy getting as popular as the AZGFD lady. LoL

Late Dec whitetail down south...plus my kid drew late Oct or early Nov. hate to say it but I sort of hope I don't get hit for sheep now. LoL

Only coues shed I've found looked like a travel area to me.

Wow...looks great!

Just another dip in morale until fall results post and the desert dwellers get some monsoon rains to cool our brains.

My old boss had same model...maybe same year. Drove it 120 miles round trip every day for years with just basic maintenance required...that thing was bullet proof. I think his kids are still driving it with over 300k miles on it.

Shot at the Southeast Tucson range yesterday...pretty busy and nobody yelling about anything. One kid got talked to about stopping at his shooting table during cease-fire, but handled very politely. Maybe the heat has everyone on better behiavior.
