TH - 16 points should pretty much give you the pick of archery tags. It looks like you may be within 1-2 years of a muzzy hunt and 3-4 of rifle tags. This does not account for point creep and remember you always have a chance outside of the bonus pool. I have 9 points and kind of have to decide if I am going to stick it out for a rifle tag or go ahead and cash out with an archery tag in the next few years. Hmmm.

I would suggest checking out the Z9, I have a 'large man' buddy who loves his. I have a CRX32 and it is as close to silent as you can get. The CRX35 or the Vector 35 would be good choices (BH on the CRX is longer than the Vector).

Bwhntr - Let us know how it goes. I will be interested to hear how the arrangement works out and if they harvest as many elk as the FS wants them to. You guys should have a blast with that many folks in camp. Good luck. Bellota - Do you guys have any tags this year?

Well AHQ never said whether they got an elite in or not, so I ended up buying the CRX 32. I know it isn't 330 IBO but 323 is awfully close. I think with my draw and a 400 grain arrow I will be looking at about 280 fps. Have not had the chance to shoot it yet, but looking forward to shooting a few arrows every night this summer. Its been 10 years since I bought my last bow. I am stoked to get this thing out.

So who ended up drawing one of these tags? I will be really interested to hear how these ones go.

I now have a strong desire to go grab a snake and freeze it, just so I can watch it thaw. I am male, I do not drink and am ink free. But I get what you are saying.

I have always just heard of guys catching them live and either drowning or freezing them to avoid damaging it.

I don't know, haven't really thought about selling them until now. Make me an offer.

Ok so here is a question for you all what would I be better off with.......My vortex viper 15x50 non hd or docter 15x60's? Hard to say. Have you ever looked threw a pair of Doc's? If you would like to and will be in the Valley sometime, I would be happy to let you take a gander. I am a little embarassed to admit, but I don't really know how to post pics, give me a day or two as I need to go get them out, take the pics and then figure out how to post them.

I would not recommend rolling the dice on warranty work. However I think they are a good 15. Yes they are heavy. I have a pair, what would you be willing to pay?

Anybody want to trade a pack for an elk tag??? Just kidding, this is a great consolation prize, I am excited to try this out on some coues shed hunting trips. Thanks to Santana outdoors for putting on the contest.

I hope the hunter got to keep the rack from the lion kill. That could make a seriously cool mount with the trail cam photo above it!

Jim - If you want help with whichever hunt you drew let me know. It looks like maybe I will be adding another bonus point this year and I have had some success in 22.

We almost made it to the draw w/o a thread. Not that it would have made a difference. I do expect that they will harvest a BUNCH of elk on these hunts. I predict aggregate draw rates in the 10% range.

So much for sitting quietly and hoping this thread would go away.

This bull is a stud. Those giant typical 6 points are sweet. I must have missed where it said that this hunter was flow into a location, but when I was living in ID there were several hunts every year that required flights to access. I know this is out of the box thinking for AZ but its fairly common else where. Seems like a good way to get into tough country.

Has anybody been up on the late Muzzy hunt since they changed it?

Anybody on this site remember who killed this bull? I thought it was a guided hunter, but maybe my memory does not serve me correctly.
