    Why a spotting scope????

I second what Sundevil said. I can only see out of one eye, so a spotter was perfect for me. I have the Swaro ATS 80 and can spot animals pretty early in the morning. I have spotted pigs and deer as far way as two miles with my scope. The last two years I have owned it, I probably spotted a quarter more animals than when I was using binos alone. I also plan on getting the camera adaptor for mine. David

    Swaro 10x42 slc or el

I was in the same situation back in December. I couldn't decide between SLC or EL's. I then went down to Sportsman Warehouse and took a look at the Nikon Premier LX L's and the Swaro's at the same time. I thought the Nikons were a little brighter and they felt better in my hands. I also thought they were a little lighter. After that I decided to get the Nikons. I love them so far, and haven't had any issues. They also come with a no-fault 25 year warranty. I will be lucky if I use them for ten and buy another pair. Give them a chance when you are doing some comparing. David '

    broadheads for elk?

Here is what I used last year, and had great penetration. My bull only went about forty yards and was dead in about two minutes. I shot this bull on the left side just behind the last rib and it traveled upto the opposite side and stopped in the hide just before the right shoulder. I got the heart and right lung. When the bull started to run, the arrow backed out a little and tore the heart into tiny pieces. The broadhead was still sharp when I pulled it out. 5. Here is a post I made on another board about theft. I have yet to get one stolen. I even had a guy in one pic that was walking around. David I drill two holes in the bottom and insert a U shaped bolt into the holes and put the nuts on the inside with washers. I paint my locking cables green and black and use good locks on the cable and the camera box. I even stuff some branches around mine and in between the cable. Sometimes I walk right past my own camera. David

    Keep the summer rolling...

Dan, Is that the same canyon where we saw all of the sheds? Did you ever pick up the one at the bottom of the canyon sitting on top of the boulder? It looks like you cleaned up pretty good. I have never met anybody that spots sheds as well as you. Keep up the good work. David
  7. I already have a couple Moultries and just ordered another one from Cabelas. It is a pretty good deal. Here is a pic from a January hunt. David http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...ilcam&noImage=0

    samurai/rhino hybrid

It is a 1.3 four cylinder with 66 horse power. I imagine it does pretty well since there isn't much weight. I should know, my samurai is gutless. Hey Jimmy, we could do this to yours.

    SAN CARLOS REZ update

Dan I thought maybe one of those nice rangers might have taken you away high up into the hills since we haven't heard from you in a while . A couple of my buddies invited me on a fishing trip over there in a couple weeks, but I had to say no. Where are all of those big sheds, we want to see them. David

    Travel Tailers... HOLY COW

Based on all of the other trucks I have seen in my rearview mirror, I know this truck has plenty of power. The 2005's just seem to get hot. I do have a programmer, but I have spoke to other owners that have tried removing the programmers and had the same outcome. I fixed the problem today though, I bought a 2006 that has had all of the issues addressed. GM has been buying back some of the trucks, but I didn't want to go through all of the trouble to get them to buy mine. I guess I will see how she tows in a couple weeks. Kevin, If you did add a programmer to your truck, you would never want to drive it stock again. It makes a huge difference in power. I have had no trouble smoking some of the sports cars running around the valley. Its quite a site when you can smoke 35inch tires for 30 feet. David
  16. I had a couple jobs in the area today. Was it in the construction zone area where all the lanes came into one? Sorry, big truck syndrome. David

    Travel Tailers... HOLY COW

Jamaro, I am on the site several times a day. I have tried different mods including the exhaust, intake, Predator, sealed nose area, and many more. I am not going to spend anymore money on mods that GM won't fix themselves. My EGT's were through the roof on Saturday morning towing to Flagstaff. She got pretty hot also. I am supposed to be picking up a free front pipe off of a lb7 that will delete my cat. I am hoping this will help with the EGT's. Or I could just trade it in on a ? David

I actually have plenty of power, but I also have one of the 2005 hot running duramax's. GM didn't make a large enough radiator for these truck and it is causing them to run hotter than normal. On a cool day I can run sunset at 65 mph.

  22. I can personally say that you would do very well with Broken Arrow guide service. I have hunted with him in the past and he has always found deer. He donated a fully guided hunt last year to the RMEF banquet and the gentlemen who bought it shot a coues around 95 inches on the first morning. He has lived in the area he hunts all of his life and knows it very well. Plus, he makes some great mexican food back at camp. David

    Waiting your turn

If you are putting in for an early bull hunt with a rifle, it is going to take years to get drawn. Now on the other hand I drew an archery bull tag in 2001, archery cow 2002, and an archery bull 2005. I bought a point this year since I wanted to hunt bear and won't have time to scout just in case I got drawn. I will be back at it next year though. David

    Travel Tailers... HOLY COW

I have had a bumper pull and now a 32 foot fifth wheel, and I would never go back to a bumper pull. The FW pulls so much better and it is layed out better inside usually. If you get good enough towing it, you can pull it just about anywhere you don't want to damage it. I pulled mine all the way down the Young road to Workmans Creek and back up to the Payson rd. And that was with my quad trailer on the back of my FW(44ft). I will take a picture this weekend when I have everything hooked up to my truck. Play Mor make a very well built toyhauler. They are family owned and will build it to your specs. If you want two 100 gallon water tanks on the bottom they will add them. I am getting a toyhauler next time just for the ease of use. David

    Travel Tailers... HOLY COW

Anything you would ever want to know about is right here on this link. Do a search on a particular trailer you are looking at and you will get alot of answers. Make sure you find one that is good quality and a dealer that has good service. Most of the time you can get anywhere from 25-40 percent off the list price of the trailer, depending on manufacture. There is a place out on bell road called Van's, they are family owned and seem like they are pretty fair. What size trailer are you looking for, and what type of hitch (fifth wheel or bumper pull)?
