I have the same camera on my lot, but I have not tried the video option yet. I picked up a 2.0 gigabyte SD card, and I hope to get up there this weekend and change it out. David

While I was archery pig hunting this weekend I found something that I will probably never find again. The shell was upside down in a river bottom. There was no sign of scratch or chew marks, so I don't think it was killed by anything. And then I walked another half mile and found this radio at the edge of a small wash. I am sure the hunter lost it when he jumped across, because I did the same thing. I found the muley shed high up a mountain all by its lonesome. I also found a pig skull, but I gave it to my buddy since he doesn't have any. But I did not find any pigs, only the day before the season started. David

Which camera are you using, and about how much does it cost? I have some property up north that I would like to put a video camera on. I won't have to worry about theft up there. David

Try using photobucket to download you pics and then copy and paste the IMG code into your post. David

I had this picture sent to me, so I don't know who shot it or where. It just said that it was 158". David

Some items I found hunting

I wish I could go back and find all of the stuff I have lost. I found the shell in 20c, which I haven't heard of turtles being in that area. David -

Job well done Jimmy. How did Brent do on his hunt? David -
That looks like a big lion. Would that be considered a big lion in your book Littlebear? David

I have the Leica and I am very happy with it. The Nikon is also very nice. Go down to Cabelas and take some outside and compare. The complained with the Leupold had to do with it not being accurate. When I compared it with others, it usually was a yard or two off. This is a smokin deal on a Leica. I think I paid $400.00 for mine a couple years ago. Video Cameras for hunting
azhuntnut replied to flagcoueskiller's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I bought a Panasonic PV-gs300 a while back and can't say enough good things about it. It comes with image stabilization that makes your videos turn out great. You won't get all of the shake. I did alot of research before I bought this one. You can also take some good stills with it. I bought it from Beachcamera.com in California. I have bought two cameras from them now with no issues. I have been considering trying a new pair of boots. I have recently been using the Danner Pronghorn uninsulated for the last couple years, but only seem to get one season out of them before the sole wears out or they start to leak a little. Has anybody tried these boots made by Cabelas? I like the idea of them being lite and fast break in period. I imagine they must be pretty tough also. What do you think? Hopefully he makes a full recovery. I am sure he will have to change his name to GROUNDBLINDMAN. David

Quad has been sold to Mr. Jeremy. Thank you for all of the interest. I am glad that a member was the lucky new owner. David

I buddy of mine was selling a 2005 Sportsman 500 4x4 AT with only 20hrs on it, so I bought it last month. I thought about keeping ol' reliable, but my boy is too small to ride it for another 5 years. I am selling a 2000 Sportsman 500 that I purchased new. I have strictly maintained this quad from day one. I only use Mobil 1 synthetic oils and Polaris synthetic trans fluid. I change the oil and lube every 250-350 miles. It has new bearings and seals in the front end. I have also upgraded the coil springs to the Sportsman 700 springs. They handle more weight. Recent complete brake job. I had the belt changed and valves adjusted at around 500 miles. The tires and wheels are off of a new Ranger. They are 26 inch Polaris Extremes mounted on 10 inch wheels. There is a Warn 1500 lb winch on the front and custom built racks front and rear. It is also street legal. I upgraded the battery to a larger cold cranking unit, that is new also. K&N filter. Custom mud flares. The bike has 2611 miles and 325 hrs. Its starts everytime and never leaves me stranded. I think it even runs a little better than my new one. You won't be disapointed with this bike. All you need to do is turn the key and ride, it needs nothing but a good home and new hunting buddy. Price $3750.00 David

My dad can beat up your dad.

I am sorry I am not a perfect shot like yourself. I was just trying to help out another fellow hunter. At least you picked a good forum name for yourself. David P.S. Could you please post some video of those 400 yard prone shots.

Carry extra batteries in your pack for those just in case moments. I had mine on the rez last year for a lion hunt and the batteries went dead on the second stand. We had to go all the way back to camp for more. David

I have a factory muzzlebreak on my Browning A-bolt. I wish I had one on all of my high power rifles. It allows you to go out to the range and fire alot more rounds through the gun without getting beat up or have to worry about the flinch. I used to go out once a week and shoot at least fifty rounds through my .300 win mag with hot loads and not have much of a sore shoulder. It also depends on the weight of your gun. I have a 5.5 pound .270 that I hate to shoot because of the excessive recoil. Get a muzzlebreak and a good recoil pad and you will see your groups get smaller. David

I have some property in the East Clear Creek area and I have had some coues on my trail cameras. I have been fishing and hunting in the 5bn area for over twenty years and I have never seen a coues in there. That doesn't mean they aren't there. Maybe El Fuego will jump in here and give us the truth. David

While helping out on a rifle bull hunt this weekend in 5bn, I managed to find some nice sheds. The elk has it's eye gaurd broken off, but had no other damage. Now the other shed I am not sure about. I thought for sure it was a muley until I started looking at it some more. It seems to have the curve like a whitetail without any branching like a muley. What do you guys think? David
