It's all about the orange shirt!!!!!!

I even put an orange shirt on this weekend while shed hunting, but it didn't work. I could tell by the quad tracks that there had already been alot of guys in the area. Nice finds Josh. David

    Arrow Weight

When I shot my 05 bull I was using a pretty heavy carbon express arrows. I think it was around 430 grains. I used the Magnus stinger two blade with bleeders broadhead, and it was devistating on my elk. This year and am going to use the same bow and arrow, but I am going to try the new Magnus Snuffer SS broadhead. It seems like these cut on contact broadheads perform well on the big elk. If you are going to use a light arrow, try to use a 100 grain head and a cut on contact broadhead that flys well from your bow. Make sure you get your bow in tune and then try the broadheads. I think I am shooting close to 70lbs of kinetic energy out of my current set up. I always try to have as much kinetic energy as possible. Elk are not hard to get close to, and a shot under thirty yards in the norm. Try to move up the weight on your bow as you get stronger. Good luck. David http://www.magnusbroadheads.com/snufferss.html

    Holy!!! 5 point

I also have some video of a big 5x5 from 2005. He wasn't that big at the time though. It was the biggest 5x5 I had ever seen. Have you tried putting a number on the horn? David
  4. Josh, Are those the sheds from Nicks bull? NeoLaquachi, Great looking coues and I like that big bull also. Some great trophys from the rest of you guys. My boy is just getting old enough to hunt with me, so I should have some father and son pics soon. I had a lot of fun hunting this particular pig. I have shot a bunch of them, but this one stands out for some reason. Of course, this is one of my proudest moments. I spent a ton of time and effort to harvest this fine bull. Plus my family was patient in letting me do my thing. Younghunter touched up this picture for me, and I think it turned out great. First pic was a couple weeks before my hunt started. Here is the finished product. It came out great. I only have about an inch to spare at the ceiling. When I shoot my next one, I will do a pedestal mount. David

    Unit 22 Elk

My neighbor has had that hunt twice and had the most action setting up near ponds. David
  6. It wouldn't let me vote. I had a hunters ed point since I messed up on my apps last year. So with one point I drew an early archery bull tag. David

    THEYRE UP

Not trying to rub it in, but I drew an archery bull tag with only hunters education point. Now I have a good reason for that new bow I have been wanting. David

C/W member says his card got hit

I went down and talked to my source and she said they should be showing by noon. I don't if that means on the website, but when I was there she did say they were trying to get the phones going and I guess she was right since they have already started on the phones. David

We wouldn't have this problem with the company that does the charging if game and fish required a money order for payment, plus they wouldn't be charged the three percent fee from the credit card companys. I think the guys that still pay with money order or check should be given an extra bonus point. I am going to head down to the office today and talk to a person I know that works in the office across the street and see if she can tell me when they are going to post the results. David

    Food plot

Has anybody ever tried making a food plot? I was looking at the Biologic website and they have a new product called Hotspot that allows you to plant seed around your treestand or blind that will help attract more deer. I think I am going to try to put some down about a 1000 square foot area on my property up north just to see if it works or not. Last weekend I dropped off some hay, two fifty pound bags of salt, two homemade corn feeders, and fifty pounds of birdseed. I figured if I add the food plot, I should be able to get some real good pictures of the wildlife in my area. David

    Food plot

Where is your property?? Might be a good spot for me in September. In the forrest. Well I don't see the rangers walking through the forrest telling everybody to remove there salt, deer kane, and all of the other attractants available out there. If it works on my property, then I will try it out in the middle of the forrest. David

    Feral Hogs in Az!?

Jacks Canyon was the last place I heard of them, which is also close to Chavez Pass. I am going to hit that canyon this summer and see if they actually live in the area. David

    HOTTER THAN HELL!!!

Whats the deal with the whimpy jackets? I need one of those to work on windshields this summer. Make sure you show us some finished pics. I love those bronzes, but they are so expensive. David

I know a guy that was getting tags in the same type of manner(mast), now he can't get drawn to save his life. Congrats on the tags, enjoy the wealth. David

C/W member says his card got hit

I just found out somebody hacked into the game and fish website and was stealing credit card numbers and charging them. They only charged the correct amount so they wouldn't cause any suspicion. They will be calling everybody that got charged to reverse the charges. That sucks. Just kidding. I guess I will have to wait until they post it on the website. I have always used a money order and it has been pretty lucky for me. Congrats to the members who already found out that will be hunting. David

    Lion Scratches (pics)

Thanks for the pictures Josh, thats what I was looking for. I met a trapper on the rez last month that had caught a couple lions in his traps. He was using this beaver scent. He told me it will bring anything in to his traps. David http://dunnsfishfarm.com/castor_beaver_scent_298_prd1.htm

I got drawn for lope and bull elk

Your right Jimmy it was four. See I was all flustered from watching the video. The thing I want to know is why the guide with the Mullins hat on had pink undies hanging out from his pants. There were some nice bulls on that video. I especially like the big 6x6 that came running up behind the cows. That guy could have easily shot that bull at forty yards. David

I got drawn for lope and bull elk

After watching extreme bulls 5 tonight, I am praying I get a tag . If not, then I am going to go out and find a toad for somebody to put an arrow in. I love chasing those big boys around and listening to them bugle. I hope to get some great video this year since I will be spending a ton of time up north this summer. David

    expo

Yeah, I ran into "Goosefan" today at the show. Of course I headed over and met Amanda and while I was there I saw my buddy Terry TLH. Amanda was nice enough to call over Coues and Sheep so I could meet him also. We need to try and get a date set up so more people can put faces with names and tell lies, I mean storys about hunting. I know over on the AZOD board they have a get together each summer up in the pines. Maybe we could combine it with them and have a huge camping trip. David

    2006 Yamaha Rhino 660

I think if I was shortpants, I would donate it before I would sell it to somebody lowballing like yourself. Like I always say, if you can buy it cheaper then do so, don't disrespect the person selling the item. David

    Browning Illusion

Here is the other bow I won at the banquet. It is a 2006 Browning Illusion. I took this info off of another website explaining the features of the bow. The HOTTEST bow ever offered by Browning Archery. The Illusion features the very best in parallel-limb and vibration-dampening technologies. One of the fastest and quietest bows you'll EVER shoot. The Illusion features the new Trance™ Cam that offers four inches of draw length adjustment, as well as let-off that is adjustable from 80% to 65%, all without the use of a bow press. The Trance™ Cam is matched with a massive 4½” idler wheel to maintain even tiller and optimize nock travel. The Illusion also sports new Hyperlite™ limb pockets which provide a solid support for the limb while streamlining the overall look of the Illusion and providing additional weight savings! IBO Speed: 313 fps Axle-to-Axle: 32" Brace Height: 7.25" Draw Range: 25-30" Weight Ranges: 50, 60, 70# Physical Weight: 4.0 lbs Finish: New Break Up Camo Grip: 2-PC Hardwood Eccentrics: Trance Solocam Warranty: Lim.Lifetime* The bow still has the warranty paperwork attached and I have the original box. These bows were just recently sold at Sportsmans Warehouse for $499.00 plus tax. I will let it go for $450.00.

    New Bow?

I have not seen it done, but have been told that Randy Ulmer can shoot paper plates at 100 yards with a broadhead. I am sure if anybody shoots long enough and far enough, it could be done. Just last year I started to stretch my distance out to seventy yards and was doing alright, but wouldn't take a shot like that until I was perfect. David
