During my scouting trips over the last couple months, I have seen a spike bull, calf, and doe mule deer hit on Lake Mary road. I think there was an elk hit near Kachina a while back by a truck. There was DPS checking out the vehicle when I went by and there was alot of front end damage. I really watch my speeds in the morning and evening while traveling these roads. I had four seperate instances where elk crossed the road right in front of me on 87 a while back. I can't believe how small those fawns are. Is it normal for them to have two fawns? David

Second chance to pay tag fees for any one who applied online
azhuntnut replied to MT. CAT's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I have never applied online, never written a check, and got a elk and deer tag this year. I made a mistake on my apps last year, and they wouldn't let me fix the mistake. Why should they let the people who didn't read the directions correctly have another chance. Just think of the guy that would have gotten the tag that followed the directions correctly. I think I would be down there fighting this one if I thought I had a chance at that tag. David -

Weren't we given like two months to get out apps in? I think that is plenty of time to get an app filled out and get your money order taken care of. I guess we can't protest this in any way. I bet there could even be a lawsuit filed if somebody really wanted to push the issue. David -
It was great meeting you also. Thanks again for the water valve tool. I didn't find any leaks the whole weekend. David

350-360. David -
I have also used the Snyper which I think is the same as the Rage two blade. I have only used it for pig hunting so far. It did a great job, and almost cut the heart in half. I would not use it on an elk though. I think the expandables are great on deer sized animals or smaller. With an elk, there is larger bone that needs to be penetrated if you make a not perfect shot. I have had very good results using cut on contact fixed blades. Try pushing an expandable head, chisel point, and a cut on contact blade into a cardboard box to see how much effort it takes for each one. I use the Magnus Stinger four blade for my elk hunts. I don't think I have ever seen a base that large before. Do you know if this bull has been killed or not? David

trail cam pics

Everytime I would put out a solar panel on the camera, a squirrel would chew through the wires. This area is hard to get to and doesn't see many hunters. I had three cameras up at one time in here and only caught one guy on a cam. David -
I set this camera out back in August of last year during my bear hunt. I had been seeing some real good bucks in the area, and I knew there was a bear around. I just picked up the camera last week and it had 172 pics on it. David The real Brokeback Blowing a kiss. Here you go Jimmy. I got this buck once before, and he looks like a decent buck. Big body Doe and tiny fawn in left corner. Biggest bodied bull I have ever seen.

I forgot to add this one. Take a look at her ribs. -
I had a 2002 that had the same motor and tried all kinds of different add ons to get the gas mileage better. I honesting don't think it improves much. Take into consideration how much money you are going to spend on the exhaust, intake, programmer. It would probably take three years to spend that in gas. I really doubt he gained 5-6 miles more. The 6.0 engines just like to suck the gas. Mine never saw more than 11.5 mpg and only got about 6-7 when pulling my fifth wheel. I finally got rid of mine and bought a diesel. David

I was heading home from Flagstaff today and saw the fire burning south of the Mormon Lake area. I pulled over to take a pic of the huge smoke flume and a couple of these copters came over. David

Man you had me pretty nervous when you said there was a fire in there. My place is only about 500 yards from the forest. My buddy has a cabin that borders that canyon. He said his neighbor saw the lightning hit and made the call. Great pics. David

I was able to get a few pics this weekend. The one I was looking for eluding me this time. These guys have been hanging with him. The pic I took through my spotting scope (which sucks) was of a real nice bull. His first three points are anywhere from 16-18 inches. His fourths are pretty good so far, but his back end still needs a little more length. I found a place on Saturday afternoon where a large group of elk were feeding at night. I camped close to them that night and had the pleasure of listening to them call most of the night. Some smaller bulls were bugling also. When I woke up this morning, I had some within fifty yards of me. The entire herd was close to 80 head with about five of them being spikes. There were a ton of young ones. David

Terry, I called Mark to tell him he won the tag, and of course he thought I was playing a nasty joke on him. I had to send him the email to convince him. He was excited to say the least. I guess it looks like I will be doing a little more bear hunting this year. David

Did he say he was ever coming home. I haven't seen him for at least a month. David -
I was driving down 89 towards Sedona when the rain hit hard. It poured for about thirty minutes and then it started to hail. You could barely see the road. Even with all of that rain, it soaked right in pretty quickly. I did get a chance to try out my new mud tires, they kick azz. David

Let me hook up my fifth wheel to your toyota, and then I will hook my duramax to the front so you are able to tow it. Toyotas are great, since my wife drives a fourrunner. But they just don't have a good payload or tow capacity. David

Any vehicle that has any modifications done to it that still have the factory warranty will fall under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. If a dealership trys to void a warranty or refuses to to warranty work based on modifications, they have prove that the parts added were the result of the parts going bad on the vehicle. It doesn't matter who puts your parts on the vehicle. But if they do prove the mods caused the issues, then you will have to pay to get it fixed. Now if your are just doing the level kit, I have never heard of anybody getting the warranty denied for that. You should also change out the front shocks at the same time, since they will be so short for offroad use. I have had several trucks with lift kits, and I have never had warranty work denied. I picked up the Panasonic PV-GS300 a while back and love it. It is a 3CCD and has image stabilization. It takes some great video, plus very easy to use. David
