We took a father and son team out for a day of predator hunting on Sunday. On our first set, we had a coyote start to come in, but never showed up. On the second, a group of three came in at a jog, but dad wasn't able to get his scope on one and they came all the way to the caller. My partner was running the call and ended up dropping one at about thirty yards. The next set produced a single that Connor (9) clipped at about 200 yards with my partners AR, and then finished him off at 100 with his dads AR on the way to retrieve him. On our next set, we had a coyote a little interest, but he hung up at about 500 yards never giving the hunters a shot. We made several more sets, with only one producing a bobcat. Neither one of the hunters could see the cat, so he got away this time. On our last set just before dark we managed to call in this year old dog at about the fifteen minute mark. He stopped about fifty yards out right in front of Connor. He made a perfect shot right behind the front leg with my partners AR. Here you can see a very proud dad with Connor, did I say this little guy was only nine. This kid can shoot. We finished off a great day of hunting with some barbecued cheesie brats. Connor managed to talk his dad into having a full body mount done for his bedroom. David

I have a brand new Browning A-Bolt stainless stalker chambered in 223wssm. I recently purchased this gun for my son to take on his first javelina hunt, but I have decided to go with something that has open sights. I don't want to spoil him his first time out. The gun is very light and has a 13 5/16 length of pull, so it should work for a junior also. It has a nice trigger also, and can be adjusted down even more. No trades at this time. $600.00 David

This quad is in excellent condition. I bought it new for my wife, and she has only put 100 miles on it. She mostly rides with me since I have a Ranger. When she did ride it, it was mostly on dirt roads up near Happy Jack. It has the 300 motor in it with full independent suspension. I have also registered it for steet use. There is also an extended warranty on it. This bike is very easy to ride since it is so lite. Here are the options that come on the limited edition model. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. $4200.00 obo. David Sunset Red paint. Cast aluminum rims. 23” Maxxis tires. Powerful single-cylinder Polaris 300 engine. Legendary-smooth IRS with 8”/20.3 cm of wheel travel and 8”/20.3 cm of ground clearance. Selectable 2WD/AWD with On-Demand AWD. Integrated front storage compartment. Standard digital speedometer/odometer/tripmeter/hourmeter. Accepts quick-attach Lock and Ride Accessories. Fuel gauge.

Slipped an arrow into the guy on Saturday morning. Actually I had to slip three arrows into him. He was by far the toughest pig I have ever taken. He had two holes in one lung and one in the other, along with one in the liver. The heart was not touched. His hooves were about four inches long due to living his life in the salt cedar soft soil. New Person to this site - have question about Joining PVCI
azhuntnut replied to Rio's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I have been a member of that club for about 5 months now. Basically just show up for one of the meetings and see if you like it or not. If so, you can introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background and get voted into the club. Nothing major to be accepted. They raffle off a gun at every meeting also. David -
Reduced to $550.00. David

I met a trapper last year on the res near Ash Creek that told me he had a lion that kept breaking his traps. He was staying in Globe and then driving out each day to check his traps. You know that had to be a big lion. Great job on the video. David

All of the feet were the same. The picture was from the front foot. I was told by a fella that has lived in the area from some time that they shot a muley some years back that had feet even longer than that. The pigs are still able to run quite fast with the longer hooves. David

I have had very good results using Butchs Bore Shine on all of my barrels for about the last ten years. I like to really soak the barrel and then start running wet patches. It has turned good barrels into great ones. David

Deer and ELK?
azhuntnut replied to willhunt4coues's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
While hunting for bear behind Fort Grant, I also found lots of elk scat in some of the nastiest terrain. It was very steep and the brush was super thick. I was told my a game and fish officer that there is a resident herd up on top near the Lake. David -
I tried Ross yesterday, but managed to find one today at Bear Basin. David

Congrats to you Gino and the great crew you have working for you. It looks like you had alot of happy hunters in the pictures. Its always nice when a plan comes through. David -
I have quite a few of the barrels and have noticed that they will shoot good cold, but not after you shoot them a couple times in a row. You will get mad stringers. I ordered all of my barrels directly from the website that ruffcountry posted. You need to send them your receiver so they can match the barrel to it. If they aren't busy, it won't take to long. Have some trigger work done while it is there, and buy all of the calibers you want for down the road at the same time. David

Another tire you can look at is the General Grabber AT2. I almost went that direction, but I wanted something that would also work good in the mud. You can get the generals for a pretty good price. David

Looks like you guys cleaned up this year. Now its time to get some sleep. Congrats on all of the great animals. David
