A buddy asked me to sell this for him since his computer is down. It is a new Ruger m77 markII chambered in .270. It has a walnut stock with checkering on the palm swell and forearm. There are some scratches on the gun. I tried to get a good picture of them. I think it happened at the store. If you are going to hunt with this gun, then it shouldn't be that big of deal. The gun has never been shot and comes with box, instructions, and Ruger scope rings. $625.00 OBO. David

I saw a sign today on the 101 stating that state route 74 is closed. Has anybody been up that way and can tell me if it has been reopened? I need to head up to wickenburg and don't want to go out through Sun City. David

How much and what is the distace on the radios? David

The feet are results of soft soil. That pig may have traveled to the area where you shot it, but has been living in soft soil for sure. I see this quite often in the area I guide. We just got another one yesterday and the the feet were already getting long. I see tracks that are sometimes five inches long. Congrats on your archery kill. David

Found this pig that was hit by a vehicle while I was hunting yesterday. This is what happens when an animal lives its entire life in soft soil. David

Back to the top. I forgot I had it for sale. David

Encore stainless 300wm with a muzzle brake. I was told it is a Dave Van Horn custom brake. I took it in trade so I don't know the round count, but was told it is very low. I would like $325.00. The cost of the brake is $182 alone. It looks to have a Weaver scope rail installed. I keep the forearm bolts. David

I finally dropped the hammer on a buck Saturday evening. After nine days in the field and passing on other bucks, I decided to shoot this buck I had seen several times throughout my hunt. I was holding out for a really big buck I found, but he was impossible to find in the thick brushy area I was hunting. This is my first buck with a muzzy, and I think I am hooked. I was using a Barnes Spit-fire T-EZ with Buckhorn 209 powder that produced very good accuracy out to 200 yards. My Thompson Center has the Nikon Omega scope with the BDC reticle in it. This made the 170 yard shot pretty easy for me. Here is a picture I found of him on trailcam.

This past couple weeks had me scramblin trying to find a "new" bow. I wanted one of those super fast new technology bad boys, but just couldn't make it happen. So I decided to pull out my ole trusty PSE Primos that I had stuck away a couple years ago. I threw it together last Monday and got it sighted in after 15 shots, put some Stinger broadheads on my arrows on Tuesday and made sure they were dead on. I didn't wake up until 7am Friday morning, but was able to get dressed fast and jump in the Ranger and get to my glassing spot. I found a group of deer and a buck and then six pigs feeding. I had been watching these pigs for the last month during my muley scouting and hunt, so I knew there habits pretty well. I made a move to get in front of them where they would pass by me. I was able to shoot this one at 32 yards. It made about ten yards and tipped over. I have now shot five pigs and a nice bull with my old PSE bow and Magnus Stinger combo. I almost added a muley to the list Saturday, but he was a little smarter than me. David

Thats a good lookin buck. His horns seem to be darker than usual. David

I am just going to do a european mount on my own. I want to save my money for the really big boy I hope to shoot during the archery season. David

Had one for about three weeks. Now it is used to anchor my boat. David

Lance, That is probably from hanging out in the Tamarac trees with the soft soil. When I hunted that area, thats where I found most of the elk sign. I have piggies with feet like that. Congrats on the hunts. David

Mike, Can you tell me the process you went through to get your bow fixed? I have a couple sitting in the garage that need some fixin. David -
Before you bought your Vendetta, did you try the Axe 6 or 7? David

I drew one of the fifty hard to get muzzy tags. Passed on the big 3x4 in the above pic twice this weekend. There is one in particular I am trying to get. The rut started to kick in last night, so next weekend should be interesting. This big boy just showed up on camera this past week. David 4x5

It looks like I surprised this muley. I had just recently set up this camera and I think he noticed it coming down the trail. He even turned so he wouldn't have to walk past it. It looks like he needs a little more exercise. David

I am selling this gun for my brother. He bought it brand new from Sportsman Warehouse and put about 20 rounds down the tube. It has not been shot since. It comes with the original box and paperwork. It has a blue slide with a grey anodized frame. The gun also comes with factory installed Hogue rubber grips. I cannot find a mark on the gun, so I would say it is in like new condition. $360.00/no trades David I got the pic from gunbroker.

Were you shotting the bow madness XS? I am thinking about picking one up next week for myself. Did you like it, or did it suck? David

New Winchester Model 70's(FN)
azhuntnut replied to BeardownAZ's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I don't have any direct experience with there new rifles, but I used to rep for FN. During some of my training I was told that they build all of the guns to meet military specs. I don't think you could go wrong with your choice. They have been building guns longer than any other manufacturer in the world. David -
Finally got a chance to shoot some of these big boys. They fly alot different than the mournings, and are hard to put down. We had one with some very nice colors. They were good eating over the fire, a bit like dark turkey. David

I ended up buying one of the Spinjag Loader, and Starter directly from the manufacturer. The gentlemen on the phone was very nice and knowledgeable, plus called me back after hours to take my order for me. They look like they are well made and should help a little more with accuaracy. I hope to shoot my muzzy within the next couple days to see how they work. David

Does anybody know where I can buy a SpinJag here in the Phx area? David http://www.spinjag.com/index.php

Customizing a T/C Encore
azhuntnut replied to TEAM JESUS's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Jesus, I mostly used the Encores for big game hunting since I am a lefty. I used to own a bunch of Browning A-bolts, but found that I liked having several calibers to choose from, plus they are a little lighter. My Encores are just as accurate as any of my a-bolts were. They will also make you a better marksman knowing you only have one shot. David
