    Loc Jaw and Rifle Railz

Jimmy, Thank you for a great write up on Rifle Railz/LOC JAW shooting system. You did a great fine job in showing its uses and how well it works, even for beginners. The videos are absolutely incredible and they make you feel like you were the one behind the rifle. I will be making some videos shortly that will explain in detail just how easy it is to mount the system onto your rifle, as well as some long range metal target shots. If anybody has any additional questions about the system, feel free to ask. I hope to have a website up soon that should cover most questions, but until it is finished, I will answer them here. Amanda already carries the LOC JAW, and will be adding the Rifle Railz to the site soon. We sold the first run of Rifle Railz so quickly that I wasn't ready for the flood of customers wanting to purchase more. We should have some more available within the next couple weeks and Amanda will be the first to get her order. If you would like to purchase one right now, The Outdoorsmans, a sponsor here, is carrying them at there store. Thank you for the interest in the Rifle Railz/LOC JAW shooting system. David

Here is a slide show of pics to give you a better idea of how it installs on the rifle and locks onto the tripod. David http://s863.photobucket.com/albums/ab195/A...nt=1f022815.pbw

Best Offroad/ Hyway tires for Coues Country

Last year I bought some tires made by Goodyear that were a cross between an all terrain and mud. The center part of the tire was an all terrain tread and the inner and outer were mud terrain. They were great on and off road. They even did well in the mud. But after a while I noticed that I couldn't keep them balanced. I remembered that I had ran goodyears in the past and found they had a soft rubber and would get so much grip on the road that they would actually spin on the rims. So I marked a couple of the rear tires and found that was exactly the problem. I was running these on a 3/4 ton duramax and I think the torque was my issue. Discount switched them out for me to BFG AT's which work fine, but they chip really bad on gravel roads. I know two guys running the KM 2's and they love them and are wearing very well so far. David

    Loc Jaw / Rifle Railz

I don't know if I can add much more, but I will try to give a little more detail on my newest product. Like they said, it is a rail system that bolts onto the bottom of the rifle using existing manufacturer holes. I include a new longer bolt for one end and the other is secured using the swivel stud. The Rifle Railz is adjustable to fit short and long action rifles, and adjustable to fit actions that fit flush to the stock and just above the stock. I also put a 2 inch radius on the bottom for better fitment on most stocks. Once you install the rail system, then you slide my LOC JAW onto it and tighten down the 3 bolts. This system was engineered to be left on your rifle and look like it was a factory built part. It is very easy to install and so far we have found it to work very well and not change the way your gun shoots. I hope to get some video footage this week and some up close pictures to show the detail in the product. Jimmy will also have some more video from this weeks deer hunts, and I have a couple guys using some this week on a prairie dog hunt. My son used this set up on Saturday to shoot his deer at 268 yards. It was the 4th time he had shot my .308. I really like how it helps the kids swivel the gun quickly and keep the gun level and on target. Both products are made out of 6061 t-6 aluminum and hard anodized exceeding military specifications and laser engraved. I include all hardware and allen wrenches needed to install the products so you aren't digging through your toolbox for 30 minutes trying to find one. I will also be making a video showing how to install both and putting it on youtube. It so easy to install that a caveman could do it. I don't have a website yet, but hopefully soon. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them. David

    junior buck

Myself and my boy drew unit 41 tags this year, but I decided to donate mine to Outdoor Experience 4 All and let another kid try to take a buck, and spend the hunt helping my son Austin get his. The boy that got the tag got sick on Friday and was not able to hunt with us. We got out early Friday morning, but the deer were able to give us the slip. My son noticed a trail being used down a treeline and we decided to give chase. We found where they were heading to bed in the mornings and feed in the evenings. We set up that night, but some other hunters spooked the deer and they just stayed in the brush until dark. This morning we set up where they would break out of the treeline for a bit before they got into the heavier brush, but they didn't show up like usual. I decided to move up a little closer to the treeline to check and see if they were held up. I then noticed some other hunters about 400 yards ahead of us and they had spooked the herd. It was hard to see much since we were on the flats, but I managed to glass up some deer angling away from us and decided to try and cut them off. We had to run about a half mile through the flats into the rolling desert, but I picked them back up again and they were going to cross in front of us about 250 yards out. There were a ton of does and fawns in the group, but hardly any bucks. Right when I thought the herd was gone, 2 bucks stopped broadside and I told him to use the first circle on the Nikon BDC scope and aim a bit high. He hit the buck back a bit and knocked him down, but he got up and held tight behind some trees. About five minuted went by when I found the buck about 20 yards to the left. My boy found him in the scope and made the slight downhill 270 yard shot and caught the top of both lungs. Five days ago I witnessed another hunter shoot a 190 inch muley and was pretty excited, but this experience was unbelievable to say the least. This was his first deer and he was very happy with his buck, and I was extremely proud to be right there when he walked up to it. You can see in the pics that he was using my new Rifle Railz/LOC JAW shooting system that allows you to mount your bolt action rifle securely to a tripod, while the system stays attached to your rifle until you are ready to shoot. I think this made it much easier for him to make the long shot and stay steady on the buck. Plus, when he wasn't able to find the buck in the scope, shooting system allowed me to swivel the gun to the area and he was then able to pick up the buck and swivel gun into the correct position. The gun is a Remington 700 sps tactical .308 with a Nikon BDC scope. I was trying some new Winchester Power Max bonded 150 grain PHP ammo that performed flawlessly. I would highly recommend this ammo for any big game. I have some pics of the wound channel as well as entry and exit holes if anybody is interested. David One happy little boy. I think I was more excited than him.

I showed my son all of your comments and it put a big smile on his face. He is so happy with this buck and appreciates your congrats. David
  8. I got a new Nikon M223 rifle scope yesterday and got it mounted up and went out this morning to get it sighted in. Only took about 12 shots and I had my AR dialed in. I like the fine crosshair and how the ballistic chart is set up for every fifty yards. It also comes with the Anti Reflective Device that threads onto the end of the scope. Nikon also offers an M223 scope mount with 20MOA built into it, so I used it also. My plan is to take it out and stretch it out a bit to see how well the ballistic chart works. I am using Winchester Ballistic Silvertip 55 grain bullets. Nikon told me this is the ammo they used when they were building the scope. They shot very well even though there was a 20 mile and hour crosswind. David Here are the specs on the scope. http://www.nikonhunting.com/

    Tripod adapter for rifle

I have a new product I just finished this week that I am calling Rifle Railz. It is going to allow a person to mount there rifle directly to there tripod. It is low profile and stays attached to the gun and looks like it was put on at the factory. The LOC JAW that was made to mount on a Picatinny rail will slide right onto the Rifle Railz and lock onto the tripod. Together they weigh around 5 ounces. I have the parts at my anodizer as I write this and will have pics by Friday. My first run will work on Remington rifles, but I am in the process of getting them ready for most other rifle manufactures. If you want to get a closer look at it, come down to the gun show at the Cardinals stadium and see how well it works. I have included a pic of the LOC JAW attached to a Picatinny rail. It will serve the same function on the Rifle Railz, but on a bolt action rifle. The LOC JAW can be purchased right here from Amanda(coueswhitetail). David
  11. Great buck Dan. Have you guys put a tape on him yet? I don't think I have ever seen a big bucks up on top. I figured all the bears ate them. David

    Video-Nikon m-223

I finally got around to making some metal targets, so I headed out this weekend to stretch the Nikon m-223 rifle scope. With my AR mounted up on my LOC JAW tripod attachment, it actually made shooting quite easy. I think if I had a 20 inch barrel I could get to the 500 and 600 with ease. The velocity starts to drop off after 400 pretty quick. When I was finished shooting, my 12 year old boy jumped behind the gun and shot 1,2, and 300 yards like he had been doing it for years. Having the gun mounted on a tripod has made my accuracy as well as his go up quite a bit. My next video will be shooting with a Remington .308 rifle with my new RIFLE RAILZ system. David

    coyote freebie

I was out Saturday checking out a ranch for some future hunting around ten in the morning when I spotted this youngin about 200 yards out. I was able to pull my truck in behind a dike and sneak to the top. She spotted me sit down and started to walk away, but I gave her a bark and stopped her broadside. One 55 grain Win silvertip stopped her in her tracks. There was very little pelt damage, so I ripped the bridges off of her and plan to get the skin tanned. David

    Had a great elk hunt

I was lucky enough to once again draw an early bull archery tag. My plan was to shoot a bull I named "Whistler" that I had been watching for quite some time, but you know how that goes. I chased him, plus one other bull for most of the ten days I hunted. On the fifth day of my hunt I had a about a 360 bull come in and give me a 45 yard broadside shot only to have my shoulder dislocate half way into my draw. He noticed me tryin to get in back in and ran out to 60, but I was even able to get my bow back even an inch at this point. I have never had this happen to me in the 18 years I have been shooting a bow. I guess it wasn't meant to be. "Whistler" always seemed to keep some bulls between me and him and then disappear every morning. Finally on the 6th day of my hunt I found him beded up, but he didn't want to come to my calls. I found him at 9am and stayed with him until 3 when he moved to a ridge to some water. At one point I had a down hill 50 yard shot at him, but only had a 2 foot hole to shoot through and didn't want to take a chance and wound him so I let him walk. My little cubby hole I set up at the water. I spent over twenty hours waiting. Had my video camera set up to record the action, but he didn't come down the right trail. I proceded to sit this same body of water every evening and on the Sunday night he came down to drink, but the wind shifted and he was gone. I kept getting into bulls every morning passing on some really good ones just to shoot Whistler. Finally on Monday; the last night of my hunt, I called in a really nice bull to the water, but I couldn't get closer than 100 yards. While making my stalk, a bull bugled just to the left of me and scared off the bull. I made my move to get closer to him and when he gave me a broadside shot at 62 yards I let the carbon fly. The Stinger broadhead double lunged him and he only went about 15 yards and tipped over dead. I think it is the fastest I have ever seen a bull expire. He is a pretty old bull and on his way down. He only had one ivory left and tipped the scales at 410lbs. This was the 12th bull I had called into bow range during the hunt. My buddy that was hunting with me still hadn't had an opportunity to shoot a bull. It was his first archery hunt and I really wanted him to be successful. So on Tuesday morning we got back out there hoping the bulls would be ready for action, but all was quiet and we only heard 4 bugles by 6:50. I could tell he was really down, but made the decision to head back to the Ranger and get loaded up for the drive home. After we came down on the mountain I heard a faint bugle in the distance and could instanly tell that it was Whistler and he had a 5x5 that was running with him that I knew I could call in since I had already done it six times in the past week. We started running back up the mountain and got on top again and I started givin some cow calls and light bugles and he started our way. When he got a little closer I started to break some branches to let him know I was lookin for a fight. When he topped over the small ridge I let him get a good look at my Montana decoy and started to reel him in. I could see my buddy was at full draw and when the bull cleared the trees he smoked him at 13 yards with the Stinger broadheads also. The bull fell within 20 yards of us. He was so happy I think he might have even shed a tear or two. This was by far one of the most strenuous hunts I have had in a while, but it sure was a bunch of fun. I can't wait until next year to do it again. I will post a short video of Whistler once I get it downloaded. David

    Had a great elk hunt

Thanks for all the great comments, we really had a great time in the woods. As for the shoulder, my left one used to do it all the time and I would just role it back into the joint, but this was the first time the right one popped out that much. I think if it wasn't for being in such good physical condition, I doubt I could have continued, plus I am really hard headed and won't quit. I am going to go get it checked out next week. David

    Had a great elk hunt

Here is the video. I only have a short clip of him since I didn't want to pressure him since it was the day before my opener. This bull would only bugle with a high pitch whistle so I was always able to seperate him from the others. He did the same thing last year. Watch for the collared cow that comes out just before him. He sure would have looked good next to my other bull on the wall. David

    a little elk action video

My buddy was able to get a little footage of me Sunday morning when the bulls got fired up for a couple hours. I am hunting one particular bull, so I passed on the smaller ones. I will post some footage of him I got on Thursday morning when my hunt is over. I had to come home for a couple days, but I am heading back up tomorrow evening for seven more days of action. David
