There are wolves and mountain lions in the area. We hunted up near Luna two years ago and heard several wolves in the area.

I have a good one in NM...

Well your co-worker is lucky, congrats to Dobbs on the archery tags...

Man that sure sounds like an awesome thing. Hopefully I will need you next year.

Valles Caldera is beautiful... too bad for 6C. Fires this season have taken their toll... I just hope that the rains come slowly.

What tricks have you learned from other in camp?
thewileyone replied to scoutm's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
We bought one of the propane water heater shower from Wal Mart for around $100... man that thing gets water hot and it takes about a gallon of water per shower but it is well worth it. A heck of a lot cheaper and easier than scrambling into town every few days or taking baby wipe showers... actually makes you feel clean (oh and gets the scents off of you, not that it's important right?). -
LOL... I love my Montec's. I found that they fly more closer to my field points than other broadheads I have tried. I started using them 3 years ago and have only got to kill targets with them but man they fly nice. Passed up a deer opening morning because not big enough and only got to hunt 2.5 days... oh well it was fun.

Had that exact same problem last year... it started good then sounded like a drunk dying rabbit... not good. Wasted day getting up early and driving an hour to have dead batteries. I will definitely take extras from now on.

Non resident cap and group applications

Yep, exactly what I was told as well. I really makes it a PITA. -
Is it the Mule Deer or the White Tail hunt? Should be a good time. Good luck.

Congrats on the Burro's, that is a great hunt.

We are definitely getting the shaft. It is all about the landowners... the 75% needs to come down a ways. I hear ya coach, put in and see what happens but it is not like residents get much higher chances.

Gonhntn, I see you are in NM and know the prefix for your phone, I am not far from you. Our entire application system needs to be gone thru. Thanks for the update. I am new to the site and have not been keeping up with the politics. Thanks

Hunted them several times. McGregor is an awesome hunt. Once in a lifetime right? Talk to me before you go. Just remember your ORANGE vests for every single person in the vehicle. Don't take your wife's truck either. A lot of the roads are not the greatest. Yes, I have been thru there and hunted there... Good luck and congrats!!!

Dodger, Sorry to hear about your loss. I went thru the area when the fire was going on. Truly sorry for you loss. I could not imagine.

So true, all indian reservations have hotshot crews and there are several fires a year that these indian hotshot crews get blamed for starting. They make a TON of money from the US government to fight fires so they are going to make sure that business is good... they will also work a lot harder and faster to get fires put out that involve their reservation... they don't get paid as good to fight their own fires.

too lite of a sentence. Thanks for the article.
