    Docter binoculars

I have had the Vipers, Docters, SLC's and now the Kaibabs. The Docters are optically better then the non HD Vipers, however they are 44 ounces and the Vipers are 27 ounces. If you don't hike much and glass from the road get the Docters but if you walk lots by the Vipers. Both are very good optics. Some people are hard on equipment and others can use a set of binos for ten years an they still look new. If you tend to be tough on your equipment go with the Vipers. You can get a better deal on a used set of Vipers then you can on the Docters. I will say that it is a very good feeling knowing that if you send your binos tumbling down the hill Vortex is there to back them up. Let us know what you go with. Just a heads up checkout the classifieds, there is a used set of vipers there.

    6A Archery Bull September hunt

I always look at the total tags, bull+cow, if I remember right they cut the archery cow tags back quite a bit. I had the hunt in 08, if had to do it over I and didn't have the full 2 weeks off from work I would hunt opening weekend, get a feel for the pressure from hunters, go home and come back for the 2nd week. 1/4 as many guys toward the end of the hunt.

If things have gotten screwed up at G&F, for those that have charges on your card, I would print them off NOW and have them ready just in case, once the results are posted you are "not drawn" "Over prepare for the worst, and then go with the flow"

    Diamond Marquis

I took it off because the rubber piece was kinda worn and the bow had the string stop that you see in the pics as well as the factory one attached when I got it. A set screw(s) held the factory one in place which I unscrewed. I still have it and will provide to the new owner.

    Diamond Marquis

In an effort to raise money for a new quad I am selling my bow. It's a Diamond Marquis 60-70lb, draw is 29" inches. I bought this used from a buddy. It has new strings and comes with G5 drop away, Copper John sight, 3 arrow quiver. I will also throw in 8 arrows. Used but not abused. $375 obo or will sell bare bow for $250. The new strings alone were $90. call, text, email Andy 602-881-0610

I had "temporary" charges on my Wells visa for about 10 minutes for $114 and $587. The available balance went down but the "temporary charges are now gone"? Someone please tell me they have had the same thing happen. My Dad's NR bull tag was one of the charges that was there and is now gone. Sweating bullets!!!!!!!!!!

    Outdoorsmans Yard Sale

It was fun last year, I went up to sell off some stuff that collects more dust in the closet then out in the field. People wanting to sell stuff set up tables. People wanting to buy stuff walk around. It's kinda like a mini swap meet but all hunting/fishing/camping stuff. I think I bought more then I sold. I will be there this year too.

Does anyone know when the 2012 draw results will be in by?

I was in the Bahamas on a cruise for my honeymoon when the deer and sheep results were released this year. I logged on in the middle of the ocean to find out. Cost me $20 just to check draw results.

    I have zeiss 10x56

I have the had the Swaros and the now I have the Kaibabs. The Swaros offer better clarity but I like the Kaibabs because I like to wear my eye glasses when glassing. The swaros do not offer me a full field of view with my glasses on. Just a thought. Check out this write up, best I have ever read when it comes to 15's http://hardcoreoutdoor.com/2011/01/29/best-15-power-binoculars---docter-swarovski-leica-vortex-and-zeiss.aspx

    novelty wolves

This is the real deal. The best analogy I have heard is comparing it to getting really drunk on a certain type of alcohol and every time you smell it again you get queasy. Jim Beam does it for me, that stuff is bad news, but it was a fun night. I have heard a little about this in controlled testing and it works but the real challenge is to make it work in the wild. I always worry about the side affects and unintended consequences of this kinda thing. If we train wolves to not eat livestock then haven't we just trained them to eat deer, sheep, elk............

Where do we go from here?

Having one consolidated voice for all the different critter groups(turkey, deer, antelope, elk, sheep, fishing) is a must. The critter groups are good at taking care of their own business but very week and under powered when it comes to fighting the bigger fights. Having representation for all sportsmans groups at state and federal levels is very expensive and takes a certain type. Don't know exactly what that is but we need to have a proactive and open dialog about how we can band together for the greater good of all sportsman and build a force that no environmentalist group even wants to mess with.
