It's not like there are 370 bulls standing under every tree. One weekend of scouting and you expect a 370 bull? That said I hope he has the hunt of a lifetime, and enjoys his time in the field. PS Anybody know where there is 125 coues deer in 36b that you don't mind telling me about? HA HA REDDOG

Younghunter, I was down in 36b last weekend and found some very interesting area's that I need to look at further. My question to you and anyone else in the southern units, does there seem to be a noticable decrease in the illegal traffic down there? I still found plenty of trash but most of it seemed to be old and there was not very much fresh sign on the trails. Good luck in your scouting, which hunt to do you have? I have the Dec hunt!! Reddog

Just took mine. As for the fall pig hunt, I am all for it except that I don't like the idea of the overlap with the deer hunts. Reddog

Today I found myself in a discussion about what happened the heard of Sheep in Pusch ridge. The guy, read anti, I was talking with said that they were hunted to extinction? I of course do not believe that, I was under the impression that they were under to much pressure form hikers, airplanes and the encroaching community. I was wondering if anybody could help shed some light on this. Thanks Steve

Just sent mine, thanks for the heads up Amanda Reddog -
Don't know how to ansewer your question, but usually there is a unique sound when you connect, but I can almost always see the arrow. Also a range finder would be a good investment. As for looking for the deer, I would get back out there and look alot more, I feel like you owe it the animal. Good Luck REDDOG

I just picked up that book and is seems like it will be worth the money. I was hunting last week and decided to check a walk to tank and kicked about 10 deer off of it at 10:30. I will be sitting water as soon as I fill my pig tag. Which by the way should have already been done. On another subject, yesterday morning I was glassing at first light, and not seeing a thing. So I dedided to check the the hunting times on my GPS. It said the best time would be from about 10:00 to noon. At about 9:30 sure enough the deer started getting up to feed. REDDOG

My buddy did not put his sportsmen id# on the app, so we are bound for left over tags. Looks like archery 36's Reddog

I agree, my son is 1.5 years old and one of his first words was "Deer". He points to my coues on the wall and says Deer. Next year my Daughter will be 5 and I can't wait to have her tag along on a hunt. Reddog

I agree about the wind factor, but I also believe that thre is a corolation between activity and moon phases. Next time your out try looking at your GPS, most of them now have a moon phase caculation buit into them. Look at the major and minor times for hunting/fishing and make a mental note as to the deer activity. Also if there is a "major" at mid-day when you are usually back at camp make it a point to be in the field. I really believe that these things work. Now I'm not saying to be in sleeping bag at first light if the "major" starts at 10 in the AM. I'm just saying that I think there is some credibility to the moon pases. Check it out what do you have to loose. I know I look at my GPS for "major and minor" everyday that I hunt. RED

Great Idea!! I work in a family run finacial planning firm in Tucson. I specialize in Retirment planning, 401k, IRA's, Sep's etc. Also college planning for kids and most anything else you can think of in the investing world. Fell free to call if you have ? or just want to bounce some ideas around. The best part of being self employed is that it frees up alot of time to hunt and fish. 520 326-6133 Thanks, Steve

36b is a great unit, I have spent a ton of hours within a 1/4 mile of the Border and never had an ounce of trouble. Although I would not camp by the border, I really don't think you have anything worry about. I really don't think you need to be a "cocked, locked and ready rock" bad butt type to hunt down there. Just use your common sense and have a good time.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever purchased maps from huntscout.com? I guess they sell you topo's with areas highlighted that are suppose to be good hunting. I found them on the web and just wondered if they were worth it, and do they actually gave a person a good jumping off point for a unit they may not be familiar with? Thanks Reddog

I think we all agree that we can't completley cover our scent or even elininate our outline. But if using the lastest camo or the most high tech cover/elimination scent control can buy you even a extra 2-3 seconds it could mean the difference in taking an animal and eating tag soup. On another note, when are tags out?!?!?
