    POLARIS RANGER REPAIR

Does he work for a shop or on the side? I have a rhino that needs some work also. he works out of his garage in a nice neighborhood, unless you want him to drive to you which he will do but you have to pay a lil more. he was highly reccomended to me and now that he's helped me a few times I have only the best to say about him. I think he is polaris only, but worth a call!

my first turkey and a 10" beard!

Arizona turkey country has very rocky terrain and more often than not older toms will have worn them down to nubs (like yours). Congrats on a big, mature gobbler!

    Eberlestock Packs

I have the dragonfly and the x1. if either are of interest and if you are in the phx valley you are welcome to check them out side by side, try them on, and see if your gear fits. Ive been in your position before and have had buyers remorse on multiple packs. Talk to Santana and he will help you a ton, and he has the best prices. Thats where I bought mine. I love them both, for different reasons. I think the build quality is one of the best available, with the best planned accessories system. The only downside is that they aren't lightweight. I will worry about that later on when I get a bit older I imagine. Good luck, lots of great advice in this thread and let me know if you want to put your hands on either of the two I have before deciding.

The latest "new look" of the web board

This one feature set this site apart from all of the rest. It was soo much easier to get caught up and follow threads, you just picked up right where you left off after clicking on "New Content". Now, well, it's just as frustrating as all the others. No disrespect meant to the hard-working folks that make this site one of the best out there, but a few of us (atleast) are REALLY missing that feature!

    Best show on TV!

Great post. This is the only hunting show I set to record, and then watch. I guess you could say I'm burned out on all the others. There's rarely anything unique or "real" about any of them. I love the fact that some of the episodes of OYOA he will leave with tag soup, and many others with what others would call a "mediocre" kill. That's real life right there, the experience defines the trophy, and I'll keep watching until that changes.

  13. Hate to say I told ya so... Thanks for posting the before picture, and I'll check back on Geoff's blog for more. Who cares about the right tip busting off - that's an absolutely gorgeous ram. Doesn't even look like he's busted up on the backs either. Love the dark growth rings and scars on the face. Everything about that ram is perfect. Congrats again, and thanks again for sharing. I've gone back and looked at your photos atleast 4 different times now.
  14. Better than most game you've eaten before! Congrats on a helluva ram. Geoff doesnt mess around and you had one of the best in the biz with you. Post up some of the live before shots too when you can. Congrats again!

    AZ Desert Bighorn (VIDEO)

+1, I was thinking high 150's before I read this guess. And, I might guess a couple years younger than suggested. I still have a ton to learn, and by all accounts my guess may not be as good as anybody else's. Its a fun game to play...guess the score, until you have a tag in your hands and then it becomes panic time. May I suggest you pick up the book "Desert Bighorns" in preparation for your someday when you have a tag or a friend does? It is the most comprehensive photo illustration of BIG (or shall I say PIGs) sheep, with scores. You will not regret it, and it will become the single most valuable tool for you to be better at field judging rams. I reference the book weekly since I got it this summer. THanks for sharing this awesome video with us. I love the way they do those barrel cacti!

    Huntin' Fool Bighorn article

Thank you Chef!! And, I couldn't agree with you more on how big they look from behind. Some of the best advice I got, early on in preparing for the hunt, was to NEVER judge them from behind. When I asked why I was told, "Because you will shoot the first one you see!" Thanks again!

    dead

OK, I'll admit it. I habitually use the word 'harvest' but never thought of it as pandering to the tree hugging hippies. I've had a different perspective on the use of the word. I was raised to believe that we, as hunters, are also conservationists participating in the harvest of a renewable resource (yeah, a lot like corn). Never thought of it as watered down, but can't really disagree with your perspective (and the other posts either). Yes, I killed it. Yes, it was dead. Yes, my family ate it. And, Yes, there will be more next year. Just killing something leaves out the rest of the process - in my opinion. Just my $.02 As was previously mentioned, sorry for the hi-jack.
