The Mexican Wolf is an extinct species , DNA testing has proven this. Any discussions about this topic should be about how we (meaning sportsmen&true conservationist's) are allowing this introduction of a high-bred wolfxdog gain control of vast parcels of Arizona's land and the high jacking of other programs that were in place before these con men swindled us! This is not a "reintroduction of a species" it is an introduction of a viable hybred into a highly modified ecosystem...... I talked to an attorney and he speculated that if the DNA testing of a wolf that is shot shows that it has a percentage of dog then it would be grounds to dismiss any charges of shooting an endangered species.... A trapper I knew would clean/wash the entire Javelina with a strong soap to get rid of the skunky oil before skinning it. I went one better last year and took a fresh killed Javi to the self serve car wash and degreased it and power washed it before skinning it.... The meat really tasted good , even grilled the backstraps were great! I know now to carry some automotive degreaser and 5 gallons of water to wash them up before skinning!

Yes I agree - Lot's of loose ends about this night hunting and yes I agree the state is limited on their resources when it comes to catching and prosecuting poachers! I guess they trust it will mostly be experienced hunters out there at night and that they will know and obey the law's! The old honor system again and counting on hunters/joe public to report poaching! The scoop I heard a Fish and Game about the zero tolerance is - Get caught shooting Bobcats , Fox or Coyotes at night in a lion only area and it is automatic 1 year license suspension , multiple or 2nd offense 5 year license suspension! The same goe's during the coyote night hunts.... Basically read and understand the regulations before hunting - Ignorance of the laws is not a valid excuse for breaking them! During the night lion hunt's you can't even shoot coyotes - Lions only - I don't understand this the coyotes have to be eating lambs also???? But that is the rule as I understand it... Maybe I am wrong but I am fairly sure about this! I don't like the leniency policy given to deer,elk and antelope poaching either but I think this night hunting is worth trying as an alternate in addition to Ariel gunning coyotes and hounds for lions! Joe hunter now has the opportunity to do his part for predator control and maybe have a little fun at it!

I like cameras as much as I like Quads - Cameras are easier to steal - Lately I carry two really big magnets in may rock crawler I just hold them with the cameras in between , this erases the storage cards and the proprietary programing ,and makes the camera useless... - Anyone who goes wimpering off to the police/sheriff/game warden is compensating for being short somewhere!!! :lol: It wont be long before satellite surveillance will monitor every step we take out in the woods.... Lets just say that removing salt from public domain is a violation of some law... Lets also say that riding their quads where these pictures were taken is also a violation of law... Now lets do the math ... Ranger/Warden/Sheriff takes the complaint and meets "Today's the Day" at the crime scene! ( Crime scene's must be investigated to bring charges)!!!!! This takes 1 day and a tank of gas... Conservatively estimating the cost of this $250 in wages and gas/expenses... Or do you some of you actually believe the authorities will cite , arrest , and convict on your accusations and evidence (My salt was taken , I left it by some rocks 100 yards from a waterhole 1/4 east of forest service road 204 there is a trail that goes right to the spot!) I am sure Mr. Warden/Sheriff/Ranger will find the exact spot the crime took place! :lol: - They have a protocol that must be followed..... Now lets say they Ranger/Warden/Sheriff decides to press charges for OHV abuse and theft of salt blocks he now has to go to roust out Mr. Salt Thief and cite him this will take another day and another tank of gas/expenses =$250 - Now here is where it actually gets expensive and time consuming , Crime reports , court appearances , follow up paper work , lets just call it 1 day in court and 3 days administrative followup - Conservative estimate of cost is $1000... So add it up at 6 day's of time (that could be spent elsewhere) and $1500 of State or County resources spent on $10 worth of salt and a $200 fine against Mr. Salt Thief.......That is about what the average OHV abuse fine is , unless there is some criminal level of vandalism of state or federal natural resources! Legal Question - You Have a tag for Unit 22 and you are glassing form 24b because the lay of the land you can only see/glass this area of 22 from 24b - You glass up a big buck in Unit 22 !!!!! - Is it legal to soot him from 24b when you have a 22 tag?

The hound hunters won't shoot small/young lions in these areas even when there are multiple bag limits in effect! I would like to hear if the new night hunting with lights has any success! Unfortunately there might be too much success shooting the WRONG critter, I'll bet. I heard the F&G will have zero tolerance on that... I used to hunt at night with light in another state , Identifying animals is easy , so shooting the wrong critter because it looked like a lion won't make a good excuse!
