    october vs. november

I've noticed that they still feed until nine or so but they don't move to much they like areas with dense browes like cat claw and ocotillo thickets. and it seems to me that their bedding and feeding areas are the same. Use water to advantage they, will usually be close, with in 1000 yards or so. don't forget that most of the time they will get up and move as the sun moves so stay out there!! Alot of people cuss the oct. hunts but just remember, you will have the first crack at all those big bucks! good luck

  8. A couple of years I was watching a small buck feeding in a clearing then all of the sudden he got all stiff and was looking up hill so i started glassing above him and their was a guy walking right at him . The buck just stood there and watched him for a minute or so then layed down, curled up and layed there and that guy walked through the same clearing a few yards from that deer and he never saw the deer and the deer never moved. The guy was gone for a few minutes then the buck stood up and started feeding again like nothing happened! I wonder how many times that has happened to guys?

    How far do you hike??

The last four bucks that I have killed were all killed with in sight of a road, dirt or paved! They were all nice bucks (101" 103" 97" & 105") and they were killed in three diffrent units. We have been hunting one buck for 3years or so, I have some pics in the sheds, and he live less than a half mile from a major highway! Last year was my wifes first year hunting so I wanted to make it fairly easy hunt for her I found a 4x4 that would go over 110" pretty easy, the week before her hunt started, and I glassed him from the shoulder of the road. (she missed him dang it!! ) I am not enegeticly challenged by any means but I took the old mans advice when he said hunt the stuff everybody over looks and drives by!! That is just my experience though, so i dont want all of you to be come road hunters!! I agree with all of you that say stay out all day!! Two those four deer were killed in december(no brainer) but the other two were killed in november. I glassed them both laying down in the morning and killed them between 1-3pm when they got out of their morning beds. It makes scense because most hunters go hunt in the morning, then go back to camp for lunch, then go back out for the eve hunt. These deer aren't stupid they know when something is up!!
  13. I just bought the canon GL2 and it is sweet. It has a 20x optical zoom then I bought the doubler so I have 40x, it is like looking through a spotting scope.I bought it just before I went to Mexico in January. I was a little rusty using it but I still got a guy shooting A 100" buck @ 475 yards. Hope to get some great video and photos this year !!!!
  14. I wanted to go call some yote and I was wondering if anybody knew if the forset roads wre open yet ?
  15. I was watching the news and they had a piece about a group who called themselves the "minute men" and they were going to watch the border and report to the Border Patrol if they saw any illegals crossing. The human rights actavists were pissed!! I thought it was pretty cool, these guys donating their time to help!!

  17. HAVE ANY OF YOU FELLERS BEEN TO THE USO WEBSITE AND READ THEIR "PHILOSOPHY ON HUNTING" WHY WOULD THE USO EVEN CARE IF AZ RAISES ITS LICENCE AND TAG FEES ARE THEY PAYING FOR THEM? IF SOMEBODY WANTS TO KILL A "TROPHY" THEY ARE PROBABLY WILLING TO PAY FOR IT ANYWAY AND IF THEY THOUGHT IT WAS TO MUCH THEN MABEY THE USO SHOULD LOWER THEIR GUIDING FEES TO MAKE IT AFFORDABLE FOR THEM IF THEY REALLY WANTED TO PROVIDE A "TROPHY BIG GAME HUNTING EXPERIENCE AT A REASONABLE PRICE ....BLAH.....BLAH.....BLAH....TO REALLY LIVE UP TO OUR SLOGAN" I GOT THE UTAH PROCLAMATION TODAY FOR THEIR TROPHY HUNTS AND NON RES. PAY $1500.00 FOR A NON-RES ELK TAG. THAT IS QUITE A BIT MORE THAN THE $371.00 AZ TROPHY TAG SO I BELIVE THE AZG&F HAS ALOT OF ROOM TO RAISE ITS TAG $$$ES. ANYWAY I THINK THE USO WAS MORE CONCERNED WITH ELK AND DEER NORTH OF THE COLORADO AND LAST TIME I CHECKED THERE WERE NOT TO MANY COUES DEER NORTH OF THE COLORADO RIVER AND THEY HAD NO PICTURES OF DEAD ONES ON THEIR SITE SO NO WORRIES FOR US!!
  18. JACK

    Rude hunters

HOPEFULLY WHEN THE AZG&F RAISE THE PRICE OF TAGS AND LICENCES SOME OF THESE MORONS WILL LOSE INTREST IN THEIR SO CALLED "HUNTING" TRIPS. WE CAN ONLY HOPE!!
