I believe if the number of archery deer tags sold was used and a conservative 10% extrapolated from that, would give a fairly accurate number. At least it would be closer than the 2000 comments against the ban guess. Again I believe the percentage of archery deer hunters who use them to be way higher but I digress.

I knew you would like it, holds tons of facts and figures for a debate loaded with them.
-
Everyone else throws out guesses and acts like it’s fact.

? So you think most of Arizona’s hunters are on this forum? Very little are on this forum. I don’t believe most hunters even know about this proposed ban. I meet people every day who don’t know. G&F don’t put out very good public media announcements. Just because 2000 people make comments against doesn’t mean that’s the number of hunters using them. heck that’s probably just the guides and their minions making those comments. Try again

Prove me wrong. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not even higher.
-
No, not equally. DIY hunters who can’t pay someone else to run cameras for them will be hurt the most.
-
Yup, probably the same handful causing the problems forcing G&F to propose a ban.
-
Yup, I know of one who brags about haveing 130 cameras in a single unit.
-
Well I know a few guide services too, and I know they use planes to scout with during season. They don’t have their name attached to the plane and therefore are not risking their business. Same will happen with the cameras. They will pay people under the table to run them and when or if they are caught they have deniability.
-
???? Really? There are several guide services who use planes for scouting.
-
The obvious, not being able to use the cameras.

I was just going to suggest this. The only problem with these is that they are designed around eastern whitetail and are too big. There is a guy here in Az that does replica coues skulls but I can’t remember his name. If I find it I will PM the information.

I would bet you are way off on your estimate of 2%. I’d bet it’s way more like 30 to 35%.

Nothing for the third year in a row in New Mexico. Figures crossed for the other states I’m in for.....
-
Actually the guides will find loop holes just like they do with flying. The people this will hurt is the average DIY hunter.

No, your comment didn’t show flaw, only your own obsurd flaw. Most common sense people see an enormous difference between the use of trail cameras and hunting from helicopters. Staying on topic, current hunting freedoms are slowly being chipped away at and if your ok with that then fine. Most of us see this as not a camera debate but a larger issue of hunting rights being taken away. Eventually, it will be a right you enjoy and utilize in your hunting tactics. When that day comes you will wonder why a lot of fellow hunters are not on your side. It’s because we as hunters sit around b!tching about what others are doing instead of supporting each other regardless of personal opinions or preferences. Personally, I’d like long range hunting banned and I believe it will eventually come. Hunting period is under assault and will probably disappear too. I honestly don’t care if trail cameras are banned, just don’t like how easily we are allowing it to happen.

I’m to the point I hope they ban all trail cameras all the time. Then I hope they move on to binoculars over 8 power, scopes over 8power and range finders over 300 yards. Eventually they will ban hunting all together. Its like the Democratic Party going after guns, they start with high capacity magazines then move to semi automatic rifles and before long they have all guns. The country deserves what it gets for electing Biden and y’all get what you deserve for pushing bans on things you deem “not fair chase”.
-
How do they prove it’s for take?
-
Can’t wait till they ban long range rifles and range finders too.

It’s a firefighter, if it ain’t fire related....

Good to see something other that G&F or hunting is keeping us at odds. -
The vortex diamondback is a great budget scope. Not to mention the warranty is probably one of the best on the market. If your friend drops his rifle and breaks the scope, vortex will replace it for free.

Was wondering when someone was going to point this out.

Looks like there will be more units a draw only for archery deer. I feel this is the “new normal” for archery hunting in Az. Won’t be long before all archery hunts will be draw only.

Done both. Granted I’ve spent countless hours behind glass and very little in the air. What little time I have done it in the air, I wasn’t impressed. Never said I feel like I’ve seen every animal while glassing but I’m always surprised by the amount I do see.
