My new 5th wheel came with one mounted on roof. Batteries are 100% all the time. Pretty awesome!

I agree with CouesFanatic as I have a rzr. One bad to the bone machine. I test drive the rangers and have even barrowed my buddies. It was uncomfortable and I almost rolled it twice in places my RZR zips right through. To answer the question though I built a roof rack for mine. Lots of space up there. Accommodates any rifle or bow case with tons of extra gear.

Does anyone have the data with tag numbers for unit 27 and unit 1 for the last ten years? As well as survey numbers for the number of elk in the two units?

Hard to say. Blurry pic while he's moving. Good points. Decent beams. A little narrow looking but hard to guess based on one picture alone.

Really sounds like you have had some great success. My advice....... You can always cover more country with your binoculars glassing than you can walking. Put your binos on a tripod no matter what power they are or how basic the tripod. You will find exponentially more animals that way. Pick vantage points that offer the best views but don't be afraid to look at small secluded pieces of country. This also allows you to come up with a good game plan for a stalk once a target animal is located. As to bigger animals..... They are we're you find them. As simple as that sounds it's true. There's no real way that I have found to determine where a big animal is going to be other than to go look. They just need a place to be able to get some age on them. That could be an overlooked spot by the highway or 10 miles in the back country. Scouting is key. The more you are out looking the higher the odds of seeing a bigger animal. As far as watching animals over long periods of time...... Deer are very habitual animals. If they are not pressured by predators or us they will do realatively the same things over and over again. Feed, water, bed. Early season they are easier to pattern in their day to day movements. The rut is another story. Deer will have certain places they prefer to go to rut does but anything is possible when love is in the air. The key during the rut is focusing on does. If there are does bucks will be there. As the does are never harassed in most of our units you can find the same ones in the same places year after year. Most of all which has already been mentioned. Nothing is better for learning animals habits than spending time in the woods watching them. Keep a small journal and write down notes from your outings. Times of day sightings were made. Current temperatures, moon phase, weather. You will start to notice patterns that will only make you more successful. Game cameras are a good resource as they are there when you aren't. 24 hour eyes in the woods. Any tool you can put in your arsenal is good. Anyway my 2 cents.

He is also a good contact for packers (mules/horses). If in need swing by the boat shop there and he will get you the needed contacts for elk retrieval!

Just an FYI. Dave May who runs the boat shop at Luna lake has a giant walk in cooler all set up for this elk season to hang elk. His place is right in alpine. He said he will have fliers all hung around alpine. I have not got a copy yet to post so I don't know prices or what is all involved but sure will be nice to have a drop off type place right there in alpine.

Congrats to Cody on an awesome buck!!!!! Your last statement has me scratching my head though. 1.) You are yourself an outfitter but are boasting about not using one. 2.) Cody appears to be a guide himself and apparently got "outfitter" info from you on where to go. It would be similar to myself being a guide that works for Matt Schimberg. I draw a tag for myself and bounce ideas off on Matt about big buck spots etc. Then head to the strip scout some. Come back shoot a giant and say "YUP you don't need no stinking outfitter." I'm just a guide and not the actual outfitter but close enough. LOL So basically one just needs to get an outfitter to make a couple scouting trips with them for free. Have that Outfitter share knowledge and info that greatly narrows down the amount of country to cover. Be themselves a guide. And it is like every other hunter doing it DIY??? Don't get me wrong. DIY on the strip is definatley doable. And lots of people have successfully done exactly that. However the time needed to IMO scout it effectively and still be successful on one of the true strip giants is a huge undertaking that a vast majority of hunters will not be able to do. Some do but most probably don't. Even hiring an outfitter with all that knowledge and scouting is not a guarantee for success. You still have to have the hunting gods on your side 😜 . Anyway I didn't mean to type out such a giant response but again that last statement has me scratching my head. Your example of the "DIY" doesn't seem so DIY to me. We all know you don't need an outfitter to be successful.

I can't offer to help on the actual hunt but..... Shoot me a PM with any questions. More than willing to share tactics of the Coues pursuit.

Why did you remove the logo? LOL

To hard to tell score from your photos but sure looks like a big buck to me. Would definitely make me go get a closer look for sure.

Where's the pics then?

One we just finished up.

As far as the big monster........I'll believe it when I see it. I think the supposed ram is getting some big eyed rumors personally. Two examples of similar sheep. Second ram is 176

Nothing better than seeing successful female hunters!!! My wife loves to hunt as long as she is with her full time guide (myself). She holds her own glassing and shooting and has been fortunate to draw some great tags. Her determination to succeed is far and above and she works her tail off and it has shown in her hunting accomplishments. Hunting is what you make of it. The only thing that can hold you back is yourself. You truely get out of it what you put in. Go for broke and don't look back!!!!

Next thing you know we will be seeing CWT members protesting earlier than posted draw results in front of G and F blocking the entrance locked arm to arm with each other. LMAO #drawresultsmatter

I still don't understand why you guys get soooooo impatient. The results have come out before their actual published date every year. Get over it. Sheesh. I think they outta skim over all the public forums and take all the complainers tags away and give them to someone else. 😱 Regardless of funds available. How bout that????

Wow!!! that's pretty rediculous. I have always used granulated as well. Hard to take when it's soaked into the ground and as mentioned hard to see.

Stolen Salt Lick????
