You are correct, I miss read the hunt numbers. He did have the 33 muzzy hunt listed. I just dont see how he is going to prove that they had received the application before all the tags were gone.
-
From what I understand you called AZGF and they said they hadn't received your application yet and on that date, what ever it might be, you checked with their updated online leftover list there were still tags available for that hunt number. Then you get the voided/ unsuccessful tag application in the mail, so they did receive but after all the tags were filled. How do you know they received your application before all the tags were gone? The date stamp on the letter is from the post office not GF. I am also assuming you used the convenient blue pre-addressed envelope which is to a different address then what GF instructs you to mail left over applications to which can also cause delays. Also on your previous post about this, you claimed to have put in for the 33 muzzleloader hunt and this picture of your hunt number choices doesn't show 1184.

So did you pick a hunt down south? Yes, but I always hunt down south. Couldnt get a December with my 6 points, maybe next year.

I had to mail mine on Tuesday! But I sent it in from Texas. I got lucky and got my first choice. When I lived in Tucson, mailing them in Thursday morning always worked for me.

I pretty much have the same scope just a VX-3 not the I but in 30MM not the 1" and for the price range and weight I think it is the best choice for price to weight and you aren't going to be shooting 1k. The swaro Z3 and Z5 are also very light but they have a capped turret or that three position thingy. Not a fan. I like to dial the drop in easily. Also in 1" tube I believe with limited MOA adjustment and they are over the 500 budget. Better glass though. Vortex has the 3-15x42 Razor LH but I don't have any experience with them and they are a little more then the VX3. They are 16.5 oz with 55 MOA adjustment. The leupold vx-5 3-15x44 is 19oz and has 75 moa with a two rotation zero stop. I have seen them go for 700. I picked up a Ziess Conquest V6 3-18x50 with a nice turret and 103 moa adjustment at 22 oz. I really like the glass on them but it is a little heavier then a Leupold and more expensive. Those are all the scopes I researched in looking for a lightweight scope, I am sure somebody else has more information then I do

That is a sweet looking Jeep!

The kimber hunter is around 700 bucks on gun broker and they offer it in a 6.5 creedmore that I believe is around 5lbs 10 oz or something like that. They also have it in 280 ackley improved which can push the 168 bullets pretty good but it might be a little rough in a sub 6 lb rifle. The stock isn't the best looking but it is the same action and barrel as a kimber Montana if I remember correctly.

Nevada, Utah, Az yes you have to buy a license, nm is refundable if you don't draw. You don't have to buy a license for Colorado or Wyoming. Those are the only states I know about and apply in.

I hear ya Adam, I have been building points in Wyoming, Utah and Colorado just to have the opportunity to be able to go hunting somewhere every year. Colorado has some first season elk hunts that you can draw with zero or one points. Better then messing with the crowds on the otc hunts plus you can turn the tag back in and get your money back if you do draw a more desirable hunt elsewhere. Since I moved to Texas, I am pretty much stuck with out of state hunts, not much public land here. Glad I bought a lifetime license before I left though. Adam I got six points for lope in Wyoming, where are you putting in at? Haha

It's a tough hunt, lots of tags and everything red sparky said I experienced in that unit. As soon as I thought I had gotten away from people along came a string of horses. Still better then sitting at home though. It can be pretty thick north of mule creek which makes tough glassing. I wasn't able to harvest but I had fun. The Burros are a different story. Good luck and stay away from the roads!

I have been really debating on that ultra 5 vs the 7. I plan on using it on a 28 nosler, I shoot a 10lb 7mag unbraked without a problem so I was thinking the ultra 5 would easy bring the recoil down below a 7 mag levels. I want to use at least a 26" barrel and I think a total of 31" would be easier to pack around then 33". I just did order the silencerco harvester for my 6.5 SAUM but with a 27.5 barrel and weighing in at 14 lbs, being light and mobile isnt high on my list. I am totally new to suppressors and open to any suggestions

Help me decide on a new lightweight stock for my 700
rkv09 replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
I did the same thing as Siwash but I never bedded my .270 and I shot 3/4" groups with mine. That as good as I ever really shoot off a bench anyway. I enjoyed working on that B&C stock to make it fit the barrel. I am currently having that .270 rebarreled with a proof barrel so I went ahead and bought a B&C ultralight varmint stock for it. It weighs 32 oz and yes the Manners and McMillan stocks are nicer and lighter, I have a game scout, but for twice the price I dunno. I will find out when I get my rifle back. As for the weight, 6 oz isnt that much and I should be concentrating on my weight loss not 6 oz in the rifle for an extra 300 bucks. -
I didnt get drawn for elk in WY but AZ blessed me with an early archery elk tag, so I am gonna just build my points in WY this year. Maybe next year, need to burn these points for antelope in Wyoming.

Dang, all ways seem to be a little late on the deals. Let me know if this falls through

I am getting one of my rifle’s rebarreled from the standard remington sporter barrel to a proof research senerdo light contour. I was wondering if I could just fit the new barrel to my existing B&C stock or would that make the forestock too thin? B&C makes a 2lb stock for a long action in a bull barrel so I can always go that route but then I got an extra stock laying around. Plus that’s a bdl and mine rifle is currently set up as an ADL.
