What do you gain by moving from an entry level bow to a high end set up
apache12 posted a topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
Ok so I have been bow hunting the past two years only. I'm more of a rifle hunter. But I've chased the same Muley buck that past two January ruts with lots of fun but no harvest yet. And without an elk tag this year I want to focus on the aug deer bow hunt. Last year I hunted it in the desert and it was awful. Little movement to hot and just no fun. So I plan to start this month working on finding a spot that I can set cameras and scout and hunt this August in some cooler climat. Anyway I have an entry level pse 3G bow I did put a nicer drop away rest on it and a five pin sight instead of the three over the past two years. I I shoot it fairly often and I'm confident to 50. I spread out at fifty. Forty and under I group real well. So I guees what do I gain by going to a shop and getting set up in a 800 to 1000 rig? Distance? Is that the number benefit? The bow I have seems fast. I suppose I wouldn't really know but I guess if I practiced it should reach out to 70 yards. Anyway I'm not looking to just burn money I just want to really focus on bow this year and thought I'd ask advice -
God bless your son

There is a left hand browning x bolt with a monarch scope on back page. 308 chamber Tikka in 243 not sure that one will work. Good luck on the rifle and her hunt.

Desert bull on this site has a scouting an map service. I've found his maps provide some good place to at least get started and then your own boots on the ground can dial you in after that. Not sure if he works on unit one but a service like that can be an inexpensive way to get some starting points

These are great scopes. I own one grand slam and one super slam. I don't think they get enough credit. Just my two cents for anyone interested you will not be disappointed with the low light quality and precise 1/8 adjustment on these scopes

Used kennmore grill with both charcoal and propane gas combo This is a really cool grill propane when you just need to grill quick and then a great charcoal side for nice slow cooking It's used but I oven sprayed the grills and they are fairly clean. I cleaned out the inside on both sides. Hit some areas with a little touch up paint Three burner with 36,000 btu Electric start Charcoal side raises and lowers for temp control and good side vents Works great Tank included with about half fuel Two half bags of charcoal Two of the wheels are coming lose and the middle burner is about 50/50 to light with electric. I use a stick lighter when it doesn't everything works well Not a char broil weber -

Sako A7, Browning Xbolt, Weatherby Fibermark, opions?
apache12 posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
So I'm looking to start the search of a new rifle in 300WIN or 300WSM I haven't decided that part yet. So far I'm interested in these three rifles. Use of rifle is strictly hunting, Elk for sure, bear, and maybe deer if hunting in an area that Im sure 400 yard and beyond shot is likely. I don't want the rifle to be to heavy but I'm concerned that the smaller barrel will be to light for a large magnum caliber. How much emphasis should I place on barrel contour with a magnum? My one issue with the Weatherby is they don't float the barrel. I have a vanguard that shoots great no that I put a bell and carlson stock and had it glass bed action and floated barrel. Sako , I'm concerned with the international for any warranty or service work. Looking to spend 1000 to 1500 Any thoughts on these three or issues to look for when buying a magnum (this will be my largest caliber rifle so far) Should I have a removable break installed, or is that simply preference, I hate shooting next to them at the range. thx -

Ben. Great detailed response. So is the back country free floated barrel. If not have seen that as a negative. Much thx -
Can anyone explain the difference between Swarovski 15x56 WB and Swarovski 15x56 NEU? I thought the NEU was newer model than WB but these show WB on the hinge and NEU on box? Am I confused? And yes I'm asking because I'm interested in these or the newly posted ones in Ajo Thx

Has just under 300 rds of premium ballistic tip or lead soft point ammo and just under 600 fmj rds $1000 for all -
So some of you may have seen my posting a few weeks back "one of these days I'm going to put an arrow in this" So me and this deer have a connection now. He continually kicks my arse. But I can find him almost every time I go out. I've chased him for two years now. And this Ive gotten better at getting close and finding him. My problem is that I can't hunt him next week because my son has his jr pig hunt so yesterday was my last chance. And again I got to 200 yrds and couldn't move to close so I just watched him until the sun set. Sort saying goodbye til next year I plan to look for his sheds and hunt him in August. My question is do mule deer move to different locations in the summer months? I've seen him pre rut with a small buck and then during rut with his girls but I didn't hunt him in the August hunt I thought about sweeting a camera and a salt out this spring and all summer but I don't want make him an easy mark for rifle season. If that's possible. I find myself nervous he will get killed. Ok I'm obsessed with this deer. He isn't a monster but he has become my trophy. Never killed a deer with bow and want him to be my first Any advice on staying in contact with this deer for the next 12 months

** SOLD ***Weaver Grand Slam 10x32 Binoculars New in box WTS / WTT sell for $175
apache12 replied to hoghntr's topic in Classified Ads
Big fan of weaver. Underrated optics in my opinion. I have a grand slam and a super slam. And they are good glass and rock solid scopes -
Ok. So if he moves back to his safer range post rut. That will most likely be where he drops his sheds correct? It also seems like I shouldn't bother with a camera in the area I seem him at during the rut. Yes?

I'm in need but I keep going back and forth about getting 12's or 15's. Do you have these on Craigslistist too? Decisions. Kill me

Might Want to Sell Property near Heber - Good Realtor?
apache12 replied to Heat's topic in Classified Ads
Shane Kourey is an outfitter on the site. He is in show low and is a realtor. He is listed under outfitters here and I think he is a stand up guy. -
I had magnum Mike float a barrel and glass bed an action. My 270 shoots clovers now. I saw one of his muzzle brake jobs and it was machined so well you could barely see where it met the barrel. Didn't do quick work. But happy with him. Phoenix area
