  1. These are like new and in perfect condition. No scratches at all and are about 2 months old. These are surprisingly excellent glass. I'm on the fence even selling them but I got a real nice Xmas gift of hand helds and I just don't see myself using them When I bought them I compared to nikon monarch 5 and vortex talon and luepold cascade They were simply better. I was so surprised I didn't buy them and went back the next day to confirm and they were brighter and clearer. So I got them Basspro says these are made by Vortex but I have knowledge of that being true I paid $330 new and these have everything as if new in the box These are e bass pro name brand so they have a good warranty. This is the highest end with ED glass I'm a fan I'd 8's over 10's. I like the larger FOV and exit pupil for brightness No trades I'm in north phx

    Slick trick noise

So I was testing my slick trick and they fly straight and true. Maybe little lower than field point but whatever However. They were fairly loud. Is that a concern for a deer jumping them? I shot swacker mechanical and they were very quiet but Ive heard such good things from the slick trick I'm into my thirds year bow hunting. So I'm a rookie. Never shoot at a deer yet. But this is my year. Good luck to all

Nice buck. And I think you're right. I shot a bunch over past month and I agree I think it was fetching. Info like the way slick trick fly. I hope a buck cooperates with me in he next couple weeks Haha

What caliber of new rifle do I buy?

257 wby. You won't get an elk tag before you want a second rifle so this is plenty and some say you can take an elk with it. I don't agree unless 300 yards and under. Pick up a vanguard for $500 and spend all you can on a scope. They shoot accurate and reliable Then just go shoot. Or better yet like desert bull said reload. I'm a novice still on reload but it's greatly improved accuracy once you find the load Firstcoues80 encouraged me on 257 wby and I love it

We have 5 year old artificial tree. From paddock pool. New it was $800 It has a stand and the box it cane in. The tree is 9ft and the box is the size of a fridge It's a great looking tree. We did have a couple stands of lights go out this year so we strung some additional lights on. It is not in perfect condition. Has lost some needles and I assume it will lose more pre strung lights but you can always wrap a few more on If a church or charity wants it's. I will deliver to that location for free if someone just wants it I live near cave creek road and 101 or work near bethany home and 12th St Hope it can find a home

    Target Panic Cure?

Not knowing what TP is, it's probably stupid for me to even respond. but if TP is like the Yips in golf where you jerk the putter at the moment of impact, I know that having a few beers on the course gets it out of my system. kind of a low brow bit of advice, but maybe worth a try. hope you get it fixed and don't quit. Good luck!

    Tactic advice

So some of you may have read some of my post over the past three years about my efforts to learn how to bow hunt In summary, I have been lucky enough to chase the same mule deer buck for the past three yeas. This being the third while I learn this sport I need some advice I pretty much always find him on the same sloping face under a north facing saddle. It's in open juniper country and he almost always has the wind at his back and he looks down hill. He has about ten does withhim every year I haven't hunted him yet this year because I tagged on rifle but I have gone and found him three times this year in the past two weeks. I'm waiting for January I've tried in years past to sit on my but and scoot slowly with my bow in my lap and after three hours the best I've made is 100 yards near him and then a magic door opened up and he vanished behind jumper. Usually his does bust me well before. I've belly crawled and leap frogged from bush to bush in every manner I can think. And have the prickley pear needles to prove it Then I tried coming over the back with the wind at my back. I had scent wafers and sent spray on and he winds me asap and jams. He isn't the best buck in the world but he is "my" buck. Old 3x3 white face and good wide tall mass. I am possessed with him So I can't seem to stalk him. Should I get in an hour or more before dark and hide on the face I normal see him bed on. Or there is cut he travels up and over the saddle sometimes should I ambush there ? I know there is no real answer but I keep doing the same thing and he beats me I have huge respect for him. Almost don't want to kill him because I've watched him for so much and he has bested me so often that he has my true respect But he would be my first bow deer and it would be so cool to finally mount him on the wall to remember all the great hunts My buddy said I should stay off to the north of him down hill in the flat and he could come over the top behind him where the wind blows into the buck and see if he kicks toward me He is a mule deer should I rattle or call. I heard mule don't respond much to rattle Sorry for the long txt. Any advice or tips would be fun to read. And oh, if anyone shoots my deer I will cry for weeks. Haha Pic of him bedded with his girls and one of him moving up hill

    Tactic advice

Yea I'm almost always going up hill to him. If I come down hill e wind is at my back. Anyone use those decoys? I thought they were mostly for antelope I could set a blind but I'm afraid this late the smell will move him to a different place to bed and it will no good

    Savage Bmag SOLD

Do you know if this rifle has been sent back for the bolt recall? There will be a punch mark on the bolt handle if it's been done Thanks. I'm interested but would rather not do the whole ship back thing.

    Slick trick noise

Thanks for the feedback I hope one day soon I can say how great they did but it will.mostly likely be a report on what I did to screw up. Haha On my third year bow hunting. Hope success is soon. But even though it's so much dang fun

    to late for salt?

this is actually for Mule deer. but I have chased the same buck for the past two years. Ironically, those are my first two years bow hunting some im fully in the, "how many mistakes can I make in one day" stage. anyway, I've planned on setting salt out for the past 5 months but I was blessed to my only rifle hunt and my two sons deer hunts so between scouting and hunting I just never made it. I went back out this past weekend to scout a bit and saw the does in the same area I've seen this buck the past two years. I was wondering if its to late to put some salt our for the Rut, to keep the does in an area or if I should just not bother this year?

    Which 10x's

If you are looking for hand held bino not tripod use I'd consider 8's. Better exit pupil and FOV. I had a guy at a shop years back bet my I couldn't hardly tell the difference in magnification and he brightness clarity and low light is better. Anyway it may be bs but I love my 8's and I love the size for carry and spot and stalk

    Double Bucks down

Here are the bucks we shot after a nice day in the boiling bucket. The end of a great trip
  17. So a good buddy of mine have hunted Coues for years had a great day. Our other good friend was on the glass and the two of us on the rifle. Bucks glassed at 380 yrds and after a little adjustment we both were in shooting position. His buck stood first and after a few minutes which felt like hours it turned for him and his 270 win dropped it where it stood So the lucky or crazy part is my deer never stood up but shot like a low crawl five feet into a mesquite. Guy on the glass said sit tight all good while I tried to aquire it in scope but it was buried. First shooter got on his glass and they both calmed me down for my shot. Finally it stepped out just above some prickly pear and turned quarter to me. Good squeeze and a short stumble of 20 yrds it was buried up in a Palo dead Double down. Wow. One is hard enough and they never do what you want but they finally did My buddy Woody who shot the bigger one will read this but hasn't joined site yet. Come on Woody join the site. Haha One pic shows them in bed. One deer easy to find see if you can find the second Thx to firstcoues80 for the advice on using barnes bullet in my 257 wby
  18. So I've been loading for less than a year but have done a fair amount of loads and have learned some but this one is new to me Why would some rounds be a bit stiffer to close the bolt? It like the bullet is jammed in the lands but I see no evidence of that And. It happens with the same type of brace that have all been run through a full size and trimmed and prepped and cleaned in the same batch. I'm very good about measuring after seating each load I haven't noticed a difference in accuracy at the range but I haven't shot enough of these to be real sure I load bolt action rifle only so far Is it he shoulder? Am I closer to the lands than I think and any small variance makes a difference? I have noticed anything odd on spent cartridge Thanks for any tips

    Stiff bolt close? Why

Funny. But no beers on board. I've made enough mistakes that I find I'm best whiske avoiding beers while loading.

    Hunter safety course

Call and get on a waiting list. I have three boys and one did the online and the other e day course. I took it too. Far and away the day course or weekend course was better. I know it's a bitch to get a class but call and they were great about calling me for a cancellation Best of luck

    Stiff bolt close? Why

I raise the ram and then thread the die until it touches the shell holder. Then tighten. That's what I've been doing So should I lower the cam and thread a little lower? Powder trick sounds good

    Stiff bolt close? Why

Thanks. I'll get the tool So to bump to I twist the die a little lower than just touching the shell holder when I raise the cam?
