  1. 7mm-08. Fun to shoot. Plenty for cow.
  2. So if the field of view and power of zoom is the same for two equal scopes that only have a difference in objective size is their any studies on how much light gathering advantage a 50mm gains over a 40mm? For example do you get 10 minutes more hunting time or rather once sun sets is it better marketedly from then until dark Just wondering about things while I wait for my early bull rifle tag 😄

    Thx. I Won't back out
  7. Good article Exit pupil is Important. It's why I like 8x40 bino over 10x40
  8. Field of view is the same from 40 to 50mm. FOV is based on the mag side not the objective side as I understand Leupold spec show the same FOV from 4.5-14x40mm to 4.5-14x50mm
  9. If you want both varmit and med size game it has to be 243. You can go from 55 grn to 95 grn in 243. Not sure the 22-250'has the bullet size range

  14. I own a couple of these, selling this one. I did mount this but didn't use it. Need to go with a bit more magnification for the rifle I'm putting together so this one is for sale Top of Weavers line scope. EBX Reticle for windage and drop compensation One inch tube Made in Japan. Quality glass and construction On par with my leupold vx 3 and I think better low light than my vortex viper. Point is this is good glass. Comes with everything as new I have some older style weaver rings I'll include Prefer not to ship I'm in north phoenix

    Tika T3 lite 243

Is it the weave grand slam? I really like weaver scopes. I agree rings are important but I those stock tikka rings might be just fine a light shooting .243 I'd say 700 good.
  17. This may be the wrong category to post this but I'm interested in a ruger 204 for varmit hunting. I've herad it's such a hot round that it smokes a barrel fairly quick. I do t know how many rounds that actually means but does a bull barrel extend life of barrel.? With a small round like a 204 would a sporter barrel be more likely to produce flyers?

    Shoot to 100yrd?

I have an entry level bow. Pse stinger 3G. Drop away rest and five pin sight is my upgrade. Oh and a winner choice string when it was time to replace So it's rated to shoot 308 FPS and I'm at 70lbs and 30 in. So let's say I get actually 285 FPS. I can shoot confidently to 60 yards. Well actually 50 I'm accurate and consistent 60 I can do but it does widen out A buddy and I stacked our targets on top of each other and shot to 70. Both of us aimed at top target and both hit the very bottom if not the dirt on bottom target. A huge drop. He has a bear anarchy I've heard quite a few guys say they can put it in a pie plate to 100. And I have no reason to not believe it. I'm sure it can be done and done ethically. I don't shoot my rifle to 1000 because I'm not set up for it but I know people do it well So my question is do I drop that much at 70 because I have a slower entry level bow? And if is that a person needs a 350FPS rocket bow then how do you have room in your sight for the pins to 100. I know they have 7 pin sights but the separation between 70 and 80 and 90 etc has to be significant enought that there isn't room in the sight to have those pins. Even if you use one pin foe 20 to 40 and the rest up to 100. IT still has have lots of room between pins I've stalked a buck to 100 twice and I personally couldn't imagine taking that shot but I'd like to learn how it's done. To be clear. I'm not saying those shots can't or shouldn't be done. Not calling people out. Just want to know if it's equipment and what kind of speed do you need to reach out that far I'm not selling my old pse stinger until I kill something with it,So until then I'll just keep working on getting better with my own hunting skills
  19. Any know who makes head space guage for a 257 bee I have a hornady headspace tool but no bushings for 257 are made by hornady I was hoping another companies bushing for 257 would fit my hornady guage

    8x or 10x BINOCULARS

8 have a better exit pupil and will let be brighter if same brand as 10. For hand helds I like 8. Wobble less and you will see the same as 10 in regards to spotting an animal you do or don't want to hunt. My opinion. But do check exit pupil
  21. Is it standard size? 13.5 LOP? 24 inch barrel Does it shoot any ammo or is it kinda finicky and like a particulars hand load.
  22. These are like new and in perfect condition. No scratches at all and are about 2 months old. These are surprisingly excellent glass. I'm on the fence even selling them but I got a real nice Xmas gift of hand helds and I just don't see myself using them When I bought them I compared to nikon monarch 5 and vortex talon and luepold cascade They were simply better. I was so surprised I didn't buy them and went back the next day to confirm and they were brighter and clearer. So I got them Basspro says these are made by Vortex but I have knowledge of that being true I paid $330 new and these have everything as if new in the box These are e bass pro name brand so they have a good warranty. This is the highest end with ED glass I'm a fan I'd 8's over 10's. I like the larger FOV and exit pupil for brightness No trades I'm in north phx
