That would be a lot more entertaining! heck, he could pair up with Huskemaw scopes for all I care!

Does anyone out there have a good recipe to cook some beer can chicken on the grill or smoker? What kind of beer should be used, dark or light? Which tends to taste better? Honestly if its cold, I'll drink it and like it so I don't have a favorite, just a "i'm too cheap so buy that" choice. Any prep work I should do, like a marinade first, or during? I like cooking so I have an idea on what I want to do, but I also don't want to ruin dinner and end up buying Buffalo Wild Wings again!

Man oh man! Redman, we usually snag a couple birds from Frys and a dozen tortillas. Makes a great, easy, and cheap dinner. I noticed we had a couple frozen birds in the freezer so I thought I'd give it a try to actually use this beer can chicken BBQ device we've had for years and have never used! TJ, I might just bring my birds over and come back later with some money and drinks! Those looks great! You are also the second person who has told me to use 7up or Sprite instead of a brew. I guess I'll do one soda and one beer. Hopefully these turn out, because I now want to try the Tequila mix that KCA205 posted, that sounds amazing too! (I must be really hungry) So would it be better to use the oven, or the grill? Obviously indirect heat for the grills.

You want to see a knuckle head hunting show? Check out "Survive the hunt." An active duty SEAL tries to make archery and rifle hunts into "operations" where they have to survive (sleep on the ground, usually with "lions" all over the place) in order to "eliminate" the target, while out on "patrol" of the area. It caught my attention because the guy was wearing Multicam, which I absolutely love as a camo pattern. But after I saw the boom mics, call signs, and "survival" tips they tossed out it became painful to watch. I respect the guy for what he is/was, but this show is so over the top its sickening. I tend to get the grill going pretty good. Start drinking my favorite beer, and when the coals look like Satan himself, toss the tags on the grill. Finnish up your beer and enjoy! Make sure you burn them to a crisp, they should fall apart as you touch em. Thats when you'll know they are done! I did this with three tags in January that I had to eat.

Bill, I'd love to see those photos!

And we all wonder way we lose access! Sounds a lot like the Mercer situation. Two years before access was yanked the lady was complaining about trash being dumped all over their property, and cross country drivers. Funny, the trash couldn't have been hunters, it was all washing machines, fridges, and meth labs! We all still lost out though.

How open are the results? It doesn't recommend Easton's newest arrow for your bow by chance, does it? Or is is more of a XXX gr arrow with XXX gr tip type of results? Sounds interesting for sure!

I'll add with my Kentucky clone in .45 with "real" blackpowder the January pig hunts have toyed with my rifle more than once. It seems that the chance of a hot day (or even a hot trailer), paired with a super cold night/morning always seems to produce a breakdown of the powder. For me, its always been easier to just fire the gun off at dark. Because of this too, I leave all my equipment inside a vehicle with the windows cracked, run a dry patch trough it, and snap a cap before loading. Kind of a pain in the butt, but its what I choose to use ever year and my inline has about three shots through it in the last six or so years and one trip to the range! We came to this conclusion after an early morning shot, and the loud *pop* of an over sized musket cap (along with some choice words). With a few more caps with no ignition of the main charge, I had to crush black powder even more, and drizzle it into the nipple and directly under the nipple. Even with this it took two or three times to actually to get the round to fire. This, sadly, happened on more than occasion with this gun; I guess I don't always learn! Now my dads inline, that gun gets loaded on Friday morning, and unloaded Sunday night if he doesn't get a shot sooner, and has never had a problem! He uses pyrodex and a greased sabot.

My account magically lost a little over $200 over Friday night. I guess that's a good sign for two Elk tags? Who knows where we drew though, we had choices all over the map!

So you have a charge? Congrats! Nothing so far, for me.

I don't know what it was, I was using a 4gig that can keep up with a DSLR no problem, I might have to dig it out and give it a try. Now with Facebook I bet they would help me out in no time, or at least be able to offer help faster.

That was actually me shooting. I have an AR registered as a pistol (sans buttstock) and I always hunt pigs with a betadrum and no sights. Its a lot of fun, never hit anything though. Maybe since it was a HAM hunt, he already shot his pig and was trying to scare them to his buddy up the canyon?

I bought one when they first came out. I loved that little camera, but I don't know what happened to it. It would only record for one or two seconds and then stop. We tried to reinstall the software, different sticks, everything. I still have mine and want to use it to record some how-to for rappelling when I can get back to it.

Too scared to look. I'll just check the mail.

I recall a .50 being used a few years back in 5B. Dropped three cows from the same herd (different shots for different tags) and the owner of the gun and one of the hunters was one of the pickiest persons I've ever met. Needs written clarification for everything no matter how small. Perhaps the rules were changed?

Anyone have one of these? I'm in the market for a "new" bow and recently pulled one of these babies back, it just felt perfect in my hands. It wasn't set up exactly for me, but was pret-dang close. I liked how it didn't have creep like the Diamond Edge and Outlaw (been told they are close to the same but single cam). Seems like a dang good deal for $500 for a bow that, while may not come with top of the line accessories, is ready to go a field and they can be set aside in case of emergency. I shot a Diamond Edge today didn't care for it at all. Had it at full draw and the creep was driving me nuts. As soon as I relaxed a little for the shot I would feel it starting to roll back over. In fact I put a brand new arrow into a brick wall missing the target by about a foot. Anyone know of a shop locally who has them in stock?

There is no doe hunts because secretly we all wish to be reincarnated as a buck in the next life with the 10:1 ratio still intact.

Not bashing Uncle Teddy, he's done more for hunting rights and promoting it in a good light than anyone in my opinion. My link Send the show an e-mail and let them know what you didn't like and why. I'm sure for they are looking for "heart pounding excitement" and to most, watching a show as they track a poorly hit buck does not produce that. Its easier to send out your team of trackers to recover the buck while you go hit a high fence hunt down the road. We are kind of different out West. While we get excited every year for our one deer, them boys back East are allowed one or two doe and a buck. They want the heart pounding whack and stack em hunting shows.

Final update! I came home late Sunday afternoon after my surgeon called and found out that I had not gone home the night before. Whoops! Luckily the numbness in my hand and foot have gone away and I started bending my leg to thirty degrees yesterday. Hurts like all get out and was super sore this morning but that is to be expected since its been kept straight since it happened back in September. They have me on some super pain drugs and I missed a dose the other day thinking maybe I could stretch the dose. NOPE! I was in agony for about an hour until the pills caught up again. I'm up and moving with the help of crutches. Hopefully I can get the stitches out by next week some time.

Back on September 12th at work I blew my left knee out. My MCL was torn in two, my other two tendons were partially torn, the lubricating strip between the bones (meniscus) was torn and my patella was moving two inches from center to the outside of my leg. Being young they didn't want to do surgery but the immobilization for six weeks failed at week five when my knee cap popped out of place again pretty much restarting the clock to zero. Tomorrow (12-9) I go into my first surgery ever. They will give it one shot by orthoscopic but my MCL was shredded and looked like spaghetti so if its too far gone, or too much work they will abandon it right then and slice me open to remove it and using six screws put a cadavor tendon in. It isn't a major surgery but I am more scared than I've ever been. (More so than when I got stuck halfway down coons bluff rappelling!) If you are the praying type, I'd appreciate some happy vibes sent my way! Hopefully that spaghetti of a mess in there has healed enough since September that they will just pop in there, clean it up a little and get back out, that's what I'm praying for. I've been off of work since it happened and can't wait to get back, although I'm sure it will be some time before I'm back 100%.

Thanks TJ, it means a lot to me. CW, I sure hope that isn't the case for me! Yikes. Not sure how I would hold a gun for work if I can't feel my hand lol (more importantly how I'd hold my new bow I want! ) . Just waiting for the doctor to come in today and remove my drainage tube in my leg and see if I can get outta here today. I guess I better start talking to my surgeon and the GFD to see if I can qualify for a disabled hunter for next months piggy hunt. I know I read you have to have a loss of 90% of function in at least one leg or comparable I would say I have at least that currently since I have orders of no weight on it for at least four weeks?
