Yeah, I think you're right, the reporter was in Flag. the guy was near the canyon.

I used the Plano gun case that sticks up behind you from the rack. I liked it, but always wondered what would happed if the quad rolled over. Now, I just put it in a case, and toss it in the bed.

Elk Trail Camera pics
BASS replied to TwoGuns's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Is it just me, or do none of the trees in the back ground line up with the other photos? Did this bull hit the camera a few times? -
That's it, I'm going to hide a GPS under your truck and another in your pack.

What kind of scope do you use? Mine is about one inch too long to fit in that pocket.
-
That makes a lot more sense then.

http://www.istdesigns.com/product_info.php...ecff4610450bab8 I havn't used one on a spotting scope but had one for my rifle scope. It does a good job of keeping the dirt out and from getting too many scratches.

I didn't see any bears, or sign, but did notice that pears were very ripe, and tasty in the ceders.

Does anyone know how to post photos
BASS replied to drgonzales's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...?showtopic=3721 Which reminds me that I need to redo that so it makes more sense on most of our screens. -
I always say a little prayer before I pull the trigger on my release or my gun. Mostly "God, let me hit the friggin' target this time!"

??? BTW, Welcome to the site.

Are you going to post some of the vids for us too? It sounds like you had a great time up there even though it wasn't what you thought it would be. Can't wait for the photos!

I'm thinking about some bigger tires for mine, or maybe a small lift kit, but the only ones I can find cost as much as the one for my truck! We had two quads, if you can even call them that (1986 Kawasaki Bayou, the original "quad") Then we stepped up to some actual hunting bikes, and then to the Rhino. After having the one for about two months, we picked up another one. You could always put the back seat in the bed, but then where are you going to put your Elk? I really think you will be fine. We rode double up till about last year on quads with not so much as a warning. I strongly believe that if you are being smart, and not racing around you will be fine. I just see too many people doing it every weekend all over the state to think they would be getting tickets for it. I also think that as long as your bike is licensed you will go under their radar.

w00t! Although they do need about another two inches in the tire area so you don't bottom out so much on the really rough stuff.

I have that same case. But mine is on it's last leg this year. It's missing two of the four latches and it's tweaked so bad it no longer seals tight. But it lasted for over four years of hard use.

Trail Cam Pictures

Awsome photots. The deer's posture with the turkey just "WTF?" -
Those little E-trex are good units IMO. I personally use a larger one, the Garmin GPS XL just because I can't keep track of the E-trex, infact mine is currently lost as I type this.... If you have time, hit up the pawn shops, I found my XL for sale in one for $50 with the box, and instructions.

Oops! I hate when I miss another animal that later blows your cover. I had a squirrel bust me today when I was trying for a nice Carp. I'm planning on heading back out there in October to get my revenge.

I just wear long sleeves, and a full face mask (no eye cutouts) along with some kind of gloves. It won't stop you from twitching when they fly close to your ear but it will keep them off of you! I don't wear any bug spray because it makes me feel gritty and dirty. Then once I sweat a little I'm sticky.

Poll - How many bow Hunters, How many gun Hunters?
BASS replied to bowsniper's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I chose bow, but that is only because I spend more time out with that than with a rifle. But I have much more success with the boom stick. -
For the most part as long as you are not being an idiot on the quad and are doing like I'm sure you do anyways I don't see you having a problem. We road double on our quads for a long time and never had a problem from anyone.

Alright, who flagged me last night on Guadalupe & Dobson?

I kind of like that white whitetail.
