    Sheriff Joe

He gives me a job, so I guess that means I have to like him. But I liked him well before I worked for him though, and as far as his final decisions go, we have one of the best policies to enforce our rules ever. He trusts us to take care of the job, and allows us to use all of the latest and greatest to do it safely. I would like to get paid a little better, but hey it's not bad for a punk kid!

    Payson eating

What the...... How did that happen?? Denny's???? The parking lot between Macky's and Chili's is big and is easy in and out with trucks and trailers! It's a long story. Our Toyhauler was still new to us, and in the shop a lot. Anyways we picked it up to go up to Happy Jack to meet my sister and Missedagain for the archery shoot, and the guys at the shop hooked everything up, and showed us this really cool way to thread the trailer light/brake plug between the tounge and sway bars (hey, we're still new and this guy knows what he's doing!). So we get up to Payson around seven or so and pull into the very empty rear parking lot of El Rancho. We make a large turn, and begin to back up to reset the truck and trailer to finnish the turn. About that time there is a nice flash, and the ENTIRE back parking lot is filled with a beautiful greyish white electrical smoke. All hands on deck as my dad jumps out, and begins trying to remove the now burning trailer from the very new F250, my mom is attempting to get two lab puppies, an older lab, and a shitsu out of said truck and I'm trying to get into the trailer to get the fire extinguisher. At this point we have a nice crowd of people watching this scene and smoke is still billowing out of the front of the trailer, you know right where all the propane tanks and generator fuel lines run. I lay down on the cement and see a huge grip of wires glowing bright cherry red, and all the insulation on the wires around it on fire. One quick shot with the fire exstingisher and it was over. Payson PD and fire department showed up and made sure everything was alright, but the trailer was fried. We spent the night right there with no heater, and no lights. The next morning we brought it back down to the valley with no trailer brakes, or lights the entire way back to the shop. They had just opened when we pulled in and began unhooking the thing right in the middle of their driveway. The guy who routed the wires came running out yelling that we couldn't park it there, and it needed to be brough back to the bays because they had customers coming in. For some reason once my dad and I told him what happened (with a few four letter sentence enhancers added) he said it could stay right there. What had happened was when the trailer began to backup it twisted like trailers do, and sheared the light plug between the tounge and sway bars. And for denny's there is that large empty dirt lot just a few yards from their parking lot.

El Rancho, don't try to take a toyhauler into their back lot, it will get pinched and catch fire! For me, it's always Denny's!

    time piece

My vote goes to the G-shock series. I wear one at work and while out hunting. It holds up great to cell extractions, and being knocked around while rolling around on the ground. So far it still looks new, except for a small white scratch on the side where it was pinned to a white wall and dragged down. I like that the face of the watch is recessed below the bezel making it nearly impossible to scratch it.

    My 2008 Turkey Season

I think I would have used one of my tags on that Jake! It was just too dang windy to do much of anything this last week. On Wednesday at 1100 hrs it was still 31 degrees, and the wind was blowing hard enough to bring branches off of the trees. So we headed out to the "Cat Walks" and to Mogollon, but I think that little ghost town even sent the ghosts out of there.
  6. It's kind of out of the way, but Clint's Wells (really Happy Jack Lodge) will let you store your trailer there for $58 a month. You will spend more hauling it back down and up than the storage fee. We have our toyhauler there right now, and have had it there for the last three or four years now. Happy Jack has the dump station (I htink it's $5) and also has water for $.10 a gallon too.

    "Quiet" boot covers

What ever you use make sure they fit nice and tight! I have a general "one size fits all" that use velcro to secure them to your boots. The only problem is that they are gianormous on my size 13 boots. The last time I tried to use them while elk hunting (while calling) I about broke my neck because the ones I have don't let you get a good grip on much of anything. Since they are big, they rotate on the boot. Just what I've found out.

    2007 Turkey Photos

We're up here in Alpine right now gearing up for opening day tomorrow. We put one to bed last night who was talking his head off before the sun went down, so that got us all excited for today. But we spent all day looking for anything to talk to us and nothing happened. Hopefully that will change for opening day tomorrow!!! PS it seems to a whole lot more crowded this year compared to last year...
  9. Man I wish I could make it this year! Last year was a lot of fun and shooting the video was just as much fun. I'll have to see if those days are open for me to get off. Otherwise I will be hanging out in jail! (Not as a resident though!)
  10. LOL Yeah that would be me. I ussually roll around with Channel 6 on the CB, were you calling on channel 19? I had the day off of work so I was heading out to Rio Salado to make some smoke to relax a little.
  11. For those of you who have an F250 equipped with the "tow/haul" mode. When you click that button, and tap your breaks twice does the engine down shift, and remain in that gear until you either hit the break twice again, or tap the gas pedel? We have a 2004 that I know use to do it, because it did it when I was hauling our toyhauler, but now it no longer works. The dealer is saying that NONE of their vehicles have ever done this. Yet the 2008 says it does it. Now we bought our truck back in early 2005 so there would be no mistake that we got confused over an 08 model. So, does your trucks do that?
  12. I believe there is another photo to those other two you posted Doug. But all the effort to get that jag out of the barrel was wasted more or less, that rod shattered Saturday.
  13. In that case I'm going to need to be on my best behaviour from now on, or until I can get some ammo of my own to use. You all did miss a lot of fun though. Lots of lies, a couple stories, and more good food than I think I've had on a camp out in a long time. We even pulled out all our gear to pass around, it was nice to get to field test some of the items we hear other talking about on here. Here is a short clip I put together from Sat. mornings archery shoot.
  14. You know the saying... What happens in camp, STAYS in camp. I hope!
  15. http://www.mcsoposse.org/edortiz/movies/USBP_bailout.wmv Geez, it would be very hard to keep your profesional composure with a stop like that.

    bass pro shops

I must say it's pretty cool! Yeah a friend and I were one of the few who fought the crowds tonight. It's pretty cool inside, but the archery range is kind of small compared to the one in Vegas. The prices are also not that bad. I was looking at my future gun, and noticed it was actually a little cheaper than Cabelas. It is definatly worht it IMO.
  18. An amazing rescue attempt. You must watch the entire video, it's worth it, trust me.
  19. trust me, if it were mine I would have a duramax. I love my chebby to death, and can't stand how the Ford is so touchy, and can't turn to save it's life. Thanks for the help guys. After taking it back to the shop and showing them many forum posts like these, HEY it works again. and I thought he said that none of the trucks did that.

    bear spray video clip

Wow that is a very large spray! Maybe I should trade my tiny 4 oz can of foxlabs for a can of that! Great video.

    Can you say OUCH!!

Yeah, that qualifies as an ouch. It is cheaper down south though. When I have to make a run in my truck to one of the job sites in Az City I make sure to toss a jerry can in the bed to fill up too before coming back.
  24. That elk looks really skinny! Nice photos, thanks for posting. and +1 to the cam question.
