The truck has been sold. Please delete this post

I have owned this truck the last 8 years, it has been well taken care of. It has 156,500 miles on it, FX4 off-road package, 4.6 V8, auto trans, XLT package, gray cloth interior, power drivers seat, cruise, tilt, single CD, tow package and the shell goes with it. Would be happy to answer any questions.

So far no one has come to look at it, you could be the first.

Not all of the land is forest. There is a lot of time between now and Sept. 9th.

"Sir Buckwheat" That is by far the best handle I have ever seen. Almost an oxymoron. I am laughing out loud. Good thing I check back every year or so and read some of this.

Lance, You said it very well. I am curious what impact this will have with water. Even if there is habitat and cover, what water will the animals be able to drink? The Black River will have earned it's name.

5th Edition Bowhunting in Arizona Record Book
dave replied to Mark Sipe's topic in Hunting and Outdoors-related books
Marvin and Committee, Thanks for all your hard work on this!!! Thanks for your patients in explaining a few things about the process of doing all this. I haven't got my book yet but look forward to seeing Blake's fawn pictures again, how could you not include those BTW, if you are having an auction at the banquet June 11th, I know a guy that may have 3 copies of the First Edition to auction off. -
I have no clue how to draw a goulds tag. I get no help from anyone on this issue.
-
Amanda, I was just teasing. Since Lance let the cat out of the bag, we both have the same friend. Dave

Actually we only have one county range in Tucson. I don't complain about it. I guess I could do something to help make it better.

Me thinks June is either in the wrong month or century. I got my first bow at Bob's Bargin Barn in 1967. Then I was lucky enough to have my parents buy me a real one from Universal Archery for Christmas in 1970. They also got me a half dozen arrows with it and Doris did a great job of fletching them wood ones with feathers. Got my first compound from Leroy at Ye Ole Archery. Archery was fun back then. Now there is soooo much hype. The reason it is hard to find a good archery shop is that you have to be crazy to do it. You have to have more passion than brains. Anybody that works on a bow and does it for other people is crazy. I work on mine and will do it for my brothers but other than that and a few special people, no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All of the folks all you guys mentioned above are very special people. Get your own bow press, Medicine Stone, laser, scale, Bitzinberger, chrony and all the other stuff and learn how to do your own stuff. Nothing like dialing it in for yourself. CMC, I don't think Jon or those other PSE guys shoot that well, you must have been having a bad day. BTW, I shoot a PSE X-Force, how sweet. It has been a bow press experience. Just one more thing...Please guys, don't beat someone up...get your own stuff and beat yourself up.

Heck, I should change my handle to "Thread Killer".

Totally awesome. How can you top that? From one of your previous posts, what does it mean when you say you went "spot lighting"?

What was meant by "wildcat shooting" is those that go target shooting, blowing up beer bottles, cans, refrigerators etc. leaving their garbage behind and had nothing to do with bobcats. The "case by case predator management" is not about what the public legally does with predators, it is about action the Department would take. Examples would be arial gunning of coyotes prior to antelope fawning, taking out five or six lions from the Kofa before they eat half of the sheep there. It is possitive action not negative non-reaction. Larry, did you mention John Harris was a hunter? "John Harris is a past president of ADBSS (late 80s, I believe) and has been involved with various other sportsmen's conservation groups including FNAWS (now the Wild Sheep Society). He was among those who put on the first RMEF banquet in Tucson. Harris has been more involved with these kinds of groups than any of the others. Hunts with every legal weapon including muzzleloader and bow. Was born in Wyoming, still has ties there and goes there to hunt. Cited his experience in dealing with elected officials as police chief and head of police associations. Familiar with budgets. Sees urban encroachment as a major concern. Would like to see wildcat shooting eliminated in some places such as Redington Pass. Believes hunters have the right to a safe border environment. On predator management cites Jim Heffelfinger's book Deer of the Southwest and believes predator control efforts should be considered on a case-by-case basis."

He was confirmed by the Senate today and will be sitting as a Commissioner tomorrow morning at the Commission meeting.

Hey Tines tell Dan congrats on a unique lope. I can't believe I am seeing pictures of it here now. Here are some pictures I took of it on August 24th at about 25 yards. They are hand held so not perfectly clear. I have 24 shots of him if Dan would like them I will be glad to email them to you. I am curious how the barb wire damage looked when he killed it. In this last one he is tearing the heck of of this bush, he totally thrashed it.

Larry Voyles named new director of Arizona Game and Fish Department
dave replied to cmc's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
.270, You make some good points. If the goal of a Director is to gain national fame and win awards, he must build what he does to accomplish that. If the goal of a Director is to manage wildlife, he must build what he does to accomplish that. Before we get too excited I think we need to think about the reality of the situation. As I understand this transition, Larry was hired to complete Duane's term since Duane wanted to bail early. Larry is an employee hired to complete 11 months of service in Duane's absence without a contract. At the end of that time, he must enter into his own new contract with the Commission for whatever terms are negotiated. I expect there will be several positions people will be jockeying for in the near future (#2 & #3 guys possibly) and someone will have to replace Larry in region IV, not to mention the region V manager is retiring in May. That being said, I doubt many changes in recommendations that have to do with managing game etc. will occur in the next 11 months. I would expect Larry to somewhat continue with the status quo until he is able to take control on his own (under his own contract). The Commission has 11 months to observe how Larry conducts himself before they give him 5 or 10 years. I believe we have a lot of good things to look forward to and that this is a positive thing. It will take time. If someone with more knowledge of this can correct any misstatements I may have made, please do. -
For an outdoor writer that has got to be like winning the Super Bowl. I haven't laughed this hard in a while.
