VERY DISAPPOINTED AND RATHER DISGUSTED
Elkhunter1 replied to Shooter McGavin's topic in The Campfire
My family will take the whole deer with hide on and put it in an old refer at 35 deg. for 18 to 24 days depending on size then take him and butcher him. We will do the same thing to Javi, but they are skinned prior to the refer. the Javi is placed in a clean garbage bag left open (not sealed) for 13 to 18 days then butchered. Now before this is done we rigorously clean the animal paying close attention to the wounds, and let drip dried. -

If you are referring to Empirita rd and I10 out by Benson you need to look at the regs. That exit is in unit 34BBBBB not 34A. The border for those units is Hwy 83 with 34A to the west and 34B to the east. Saw a nice heard off the Emperita exit, by the rail road tracks. In the washes that run under the tracks. Saw more sign than pigs. Better bring a 4 wheel drive. Good luck.

I am trying to get an idea of what CWTers are using and why. Maybe some pics of your trophies to go with it. Thank you in advance! Happy hunting

last week of Dec. I watched two small forkys fighting for about 15 seconds and the winner chased the looser around for about 3 minutes. After repositioning I watched a shooter chase a doe around and follow her all afternoon. Couldn't make it happed though!

Do you have a time frame for the release of the pups and what do you charge for the females? Pm me if you wish. Thx Stephen -
Bill i didn't know about the orange paint either, but the rest I did know. Several years ago I was hunting in an area that was also not posted. I was however on National Forest about 60 yrds outside of private property when two ranch hands on horseback road up with guns drawn telling me I was under arrest for trespassing and the sheriff was on the way. As we waited for the deputy I tried to advise them they were in the wrong and I had a BLM map in by pack. I also told them if they left now there would be no problems. When the deputy arrived I explained to him where we were and showed him the map. I also showed him my Corrections badge and stated that I wanted both ranch hands arrested for aggravated assault as they both pointed their 45's at me. Moral of the story is; KNOW WHERE YOU ARE AND BE ABLE TO PROVE IT WHEN THE @#it hits the fan!!!

I truly believe we all should bow our heads to each other as we all have helped one another in some way, But Amanda and all the guys that help with the site and the get togethers deserve a second and third bow for their tiering devotion to our way of life.

Yes communication is the key, but I don't know which key to use to get her to see what the "bug" does to us hunters, especially the archers. I have tried to get her to go with, she has only gone with to either get the cameras or to do some light scouting.

As I sit here doing my second favorite thing "reading posts," I realized I don't remember how to make tag soup. As you all can tell with the absence of a "successful" posting I did not tag out on archery deer this year, and now I have to make tag soup. My new job as a contractor has put a strain on my home life as well as the hunting. Working 6 days a week, my wife doesn't seem to realize my time afield is more desirable as a stress reliever than the addiction see has seen in years past. Any insight as to how to convey this to the support person in my life? She doesn't hunt and can't understand my hunters mentality.

I see the blood but I don't see what dripped it! Was the animal recovered? MORE PICS and story!

Have you ever missed a shot because of a steep angle?
Elkhunter1 replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
Several years ago my buddy and I was chasing pigs down in 36A. We found ourselves on a finger with a steep slope to one side and wouldn't you know it that is right where the pigs were, at the bottom. It became clear they were in the wrong spot at the right time (for them). Out of options I decided to take the shot, a 50 yrd down hill shot that promptly went right over his back sending them in all directions. That failed shot was the last at that steep angle. -
I would have to say that topps all the gifts listed! glad to here that good news.

OK OK you guys have convinced me not to go hunting this afternoon and to spend some time with the wife and son. JEEEEEZ!
