If you are looking at long distance shooting 650 to 1000. you better believe there is a great deal of improvement in accuracy. Go with the 26 inch.

Sportsman's really doesn't describe their products very well. If you go to this site it will give you a better look at it. http://www.nikon.com/news/2013/0709_laser_03.htm From what I see this one is good for the first time user. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have the Arc technology. It won't give you a ballistic range to your target at steep angles. However it does have a 6x optic. You said it was only $115? I would get it only if you can't afford something a little nicer with Arc. Look elsewhere for good deals before you commit.
-
NO, reflective surface will always be a better "target" as it will "return" the laser beam with more consistency.
-
Reflective means something like a truck, building, rocks. Non-reflective means trees and animals, although you can get distance from trees next to a deer better than the animal due to the overall size difference.

I just got the Nikon Arc 1000 Bone Collector and it is freaking awesome.

You both are right and wrong, Locking your elbow might put it in a Hyper-extended position (depending on shooter) and bad form ( rotated elbow) will both cause the string to impact your arm. The POINT is, there are several things that can cause the bruising.

I need to talk to my other half, I will get back to you. I am interested, I need to run some numbers this would be a good Christmas gift for myself.

Only after you get a referral and pay the high deductible.

Based on the research I've done that is not the original barrel, it was made with a 26" barrel. I can only surmise that Pete and your Father-in-Law made that barrel.
-
do you know the barrel length: by chance
-
You said the last 2-3 inches of the barrel had rust? Is that the inside of the barrel, and what length is it. Knowing that the action is a Winchester draws me in as I want to rebuild a Winchester is that caliber.

Most of the time I don't have my bow with me!

Too bad we have to wait until January!

The rancher on the north end told me that he sees them all the time coming down into the fields by his place.
-
Might be same one back off of Josephine a little north of there.
-
He looks like the one I saw last year from the roof of a house on the south end of Rio Rico way back in there. He had several does with him then.

I found some on Gunbroker.com a while back, check there.

That is very rough! No trigger, safety, magazine plate, cover, spring. I would need to know more about the action to get parts for it. Is there any stamps or markings on it. What condition is the barrel in, twist and grove count. Buying that without knowing what parts to get would be a big gamble. I would be only interested it the action and barrel, again if I know who made the action.

Dodge Pc Pepsi Mary Ann now that that's all cleared up, simply put we did it to p*** them off so they wouldn't come out here and kill our deer.
