Negative ghost rider all the tags were full. I guess it's time to dust off the old bow.

I had my 2 year old daughter point at the calendar randomly. She picked the 21st. That probably has the same amount of accuracy as every other guess on here.

Nice pics. How many different cameras? -
Its always on a Friday after the game and fish gets off of work. They do not want to have to put up with people calling the office and asking questions and favors. That is funny as heck about 327 times and entering the wrong number. I get real nervous entering those numbers.

Great bull

My first choice is 23 rifle December. I will buy the directions if you keep feeding him for me. Oh and keep everyone out of there too. -
I have tried sierra, hornady, winchester, barnes and have found that the new nosler accubonds shoot the best for me. I shot my coues this year at 298 yards broke both shoulders and had a silver dollar size exit wound. In my experience these bullets are very accurate and hold together well. I am not sure if you can get them in factory ammo. They shoot well in my .280 and .300 try them and see how they shoot in your gun.

Try 165 combined technology fail safe's. I have had great results with these winchester factory loads. Combined technology is winchester and nosler.

Mine were cashed Friday and they were sent in on the 25th. My elk tag was not cashed until yesterday though.

I have only one with a rifle that went 109 3/8". I have missed three with my bow. One 5X5 in full velvet that would have been nice to actually hit. I am a 95" or better guy, until I see the first branch antlered coues then that goes out the window.

They just got $500.00 for me and my wife. The wait maybe long but, if I messed up like I usually do, it will be worth the long wait to be early. If they are in by the 27th they will let you know of any errors. Good luck!!! -
Hopefully they will not take the sheep from 45A,B,C. They have pulled so many sheep out of there to transplant, we only have a few left. Sounds like a good excuse to go tryand kill a lion.

Looking for a good taxidermist
matthewp45 replied to The Chase's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Clay Goldman at Mogollon Taxidermy is doing my coues. He has done three for a friend of mine all over 100" bucks and they are absolutely beautiful. He charges $490.00 and it takes about 8 months. He pas alot of attention to detail and is ver mathotical. Matt -
I took my first big coues deer Saturday. he was scored by Clay at Mogollon Taxidermy at 109 3/8". He was chasing does all over the mountain when we found him. I got a picture through the spotting scope before I took him. I got with in 300 yards and waited for a good shot. One shot with my 280 and he was down. What a way to start the New Year !!!!!!! (Hopefully the pics show up) Pictures are down at the bottom now

I can't afford it either, a man I do business with bought it for me. It was great to go hunt for coues with no one else around though. Probably saw 35-40 bucks. average buck around 80. This buck was in Rut, but it was different in each area. Some spots the does did not have any bucks. Others were being chased all over the mountain. It was a hunt of a life time for me. Matt

I sent Amanda the Pics they should be up today. Matt

San Carlos Reservation Hunt R-100 unit !
-
I have hunted coues quite a bit. Both with a bow and rifle, so I am not a virgin. I was fortunate enough to recieve a R-100 tag on the San Carlos starting this Sat. the 1st. The bucks are already chasing the does according to my guide. The forecast is showing rain Sat. - Tuesday. I was wondering how the rain will play into things. Thanks Matt

Thanks for the info. I think it will be fine. Just hope to find one over 100. I will post some pictures when I get back (if I have any). Matt

The stw is a necked down 8mm mag. I have a friend who loves this caliber. That is all he will shoot at deer. Long, flat round. He uses the 140 grain nosler ballistic tip and has killed a few coues at some long ranges with it. I shoot a .280 and have loaded a ton of bullets for it. Nosler just came out with a 140 gr accubond bullet. I have loaded a lot of .284 and this bullet is awesome. The ballistic coefficient is really high. It is very accurate as well. I would highly recommend it.
