My dad was the other candidate and he would have been a great pic as well. We were very excited when Robby got the call. -

A real close friend of mine and huge avid hunter Robbie Woodhouse got appointed the vacant Game and Fish commision seat. He is going to be a real asset to us all. He hunts everything he gets a chance too from rifle to archery and is very involved in club and organizational efforts to better AZ wildlife. I do not think that I could have selected a better person for the job. -

I ended up buying the drenalin. I shot a bunch of bows and that one fit me the best. I absolutely love it. It is fast, quiet, light and forgiving. It works really well for me. Thanks again for all of the info. It really worked out well.

I will be there Sat. all day I hope to see a few of you around.

I just had one in my hand an hour ago. There action is modeled after a remington. I do not think the remington would even come close to the HS as far as smoothness is concerned. I was looking at the 3 shot group card they send with the rifle and they were all touching each other. The rifle was a 300 WSM and had a 24 inch barrel. It felt well balanced and looked to be well built. I know they bed and float their rifles very well.

Feakin Dewey man, that is awesome. I just talked to Randy he is doing some training in Tucson but I know he will hit it hard with you when he gets back. Unless you find them all first

My buddy and I just got back from our HAM hunt in 18B. We filled out on the first day. It was a lot of fun. His pig was so old it had lost almost all of it's teeth. Hope you enjoy the pics.

They have awesome actions. They make weatherby vanguard actions. As far as the barrels I do not know much. A friend of mine bought a vanguard just for the action and put a new barrel and stock on it.

My first archery deer. 1-23-07.

Well this year has been unbelievable for me. I will start off with my first archery deer which I killed yesterday afternoon 1-23-07. I glassed a bunch of deer rutting about 2 miles away through the spotting scope. About an hour later I was with in 60 yards of this nice 2 point. I sent one his way and hit him right in the honey basket. He ran 100 yards and fell over dead. After all of the time and effort put in out in the desert over the years this is one of my most favorite trophies. On 1-6-07 I killed my second coues deer with a rifle on the San Carlos Res. It was a real nice 85" buck. I shot him with the old 7MM Dakota. He will look good on the wall. On 12-11-06 I was invited to Kansas to go on my first Eastern whitetail hunt. After two days I was lucky enough to harvest this cool looking 9 point. I also shot him with my 7MM Dakota. I was lucky enough to draw a unit 39 tag for the general rifle season down here in the desert. After a ton of scouting, glassing and walking I was able to take this nice 3 point on the second day of the hunt. Finall twoard the end of August I traveled up to Colorado to take my first Antelope. I was pumped to take this real nice 76" buck with the old 7MM Dakota. I have had the luckiest year of hunting. I really appreciate being able to post and share my stories with all of you. Thanks for all of the nice comments and conversation. Hopefully next year will bring some more good stories.

What an awesome buck. That has to be one of the hardest hunts there is, to stalk and kill a deer in the desert with a bow. What a great job. -

Only remedy is an elected commisioner
matthewp45 replied to hawkeye's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
There are 3 applicants for the seat that will be filled by the governor this month. One is my dad a conservative hunter. The other is a close friend of the families who also is a conservative hunter. The last applicant is an outfitter from up north somewhere. These three applicants have been interviewed and are awaiting the decision by the governor. I think any of these men would do a great job and be an asset to the Game and Fish Commision. I agree I think there are more greenies that vote than hunters, so putting it to a vote may not be the way we want it. -
R-100.
