I hunted with El Halcon in Chihuahua . We also hunted mule deer south of Chihuahua . The have very good guides . David Miller hunts here every year. I met a woman from Arizona you all might know her . Her name was Cathy she owns a ranch where the record big horn was killed . She was with her Boy friend Wayne ,who guides there. I am not sure how to post the pictures . I have some good ones. thanks.

First I'd like to apologize To Alonso and everyone. I was right on the price for my hunt. there is somethings I did'nt tell. My best friend is a booking agent , there was a deal cut. lets just say it cost less. I did'nt know all the details untill I asked whats the total cost. I trust my friend I have hunted with him for ten years, from the US , Canada , Africa . As someone said people work hard for their money, I am not rich by any means I turn wrenches for a living , a Mechanic . I save and hussle atleast a year or two in advance to do my hunting. The hunt in this thread ,Should be a good hunt if the deer are here. This is much lower than most hunts. Alot of Hermasillo hunts are Twice as much.

No what I ment was by the time you add in the extra days and the 1200 trophy fee it's almost a $500 more . $ 3500 for 5 days a El Halcon. $ 2500 hunt $1200 fee $ 300 exrta per day $4000 plus more air fare ect. Maybe I'm wrong

I am hunting with EL Halcon in two weeks and it less money, by over $1000 and I get more Days .

I am doing a hunt First week of January in Chihuahua. We are using EL HALCON Outfitters . 8* days for Coues and Mule deer.

Sorry to here this, don't need to happen to anyone. The 25/06 is a .257 dia and the 7 /08 is a .284 the 7mm is larger thats why the gun blew up 1/2 way down the barrel. Ruger had a law suit years ago thats why they put the warning on all their firearms now.

remember this was made to hunt mule deer, much bigger animal

THIS IS A VERY GOOD RIFLE. I USED TO BE A VERY HEAVY #1 COLLECTOR. THERE ARESOME GUN SMITHS AROUND THE COUNTRY THAT CAN IMPROVE THE ACURACY OF THE #1. THEY PUT A SET SCREW TO INPROVE ACURACY, THAT I THINK PUTS PRESURE ON THE BARREL. ALSO THE TRIGER CAN BE IMPROVED. I have been around the world hunting from my experiences, you need to carrie any thing of value , binos,spotter, camera, camcorder etc in your carrie on bag if you fly. I think driving you should not have problems. I have never heard of any problems of this nature. Blaserman

Couesahalic THIS IS AN ORGANIZATION THAT FIGHTS FOR HUNTER RIGHTS. They are involved all over thr world. all kind of issues that have to do with the hunting comunity. Go to Safari Club International . com. Most states have chapters. think it calls for a $55 member fee for one year. They have a record book system for animals hunted all over the world. Anytime some one is trying to take our hunting rights away they are there to help stop these kind of people.there is alot I can't explane, so go to there web check It out. Your deer will do good in there record book. they have alist of scorers in your area on the site.

What is in the general opinion of the best unit in the state.

I FOUND I GUY ON THE BUCK MASTERS WEB. HE IS OF 2 J OUTTFITTERS IN TEXAS. HE LOVES THE 7 MM STW, HE'S GOT A LOAD THAT 3500 FPS 2" HIGH AT 100YRDS 18" LOW AT 500YRDS. 140 GR BULLET. HE ALSO HAS A WILDCAT HE MAKES CALLED HOT TAMALE --.257 IN A 7MM STW CASE, SHOOTS VERY FLAT TOO. THIS MEANS THAT IF A COUES IS ON THE AVERAGE 14"TO 18" THE LATTER ON THE LARGE SIDE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HOLD AT THE TOP OF HIS BACK OR JUST ABOVE AT 500 YRDS. THIS WOULD BE DEAD ON.
